The best version on youtube! The phrasing, the tempo, the dynamic omg all are perfect 😍
Reminds me of a child being born, growing up, then experiencing lifes ups and downs and finally realizations at different periods in their life.
I love how classical music always seems to tell a story so clearly without any need for words
this is the same exact story i always picture, an innocent soul growing exposed to the harsh realities of the world, but also realizing that there is a balance
damn just listen to the song mate
@@TortoiseNo.3 lovely grasp on it:)
Life sucks. Much more downs than ups
The phrasing and tempo is phenomenal. Best interpretation of this masterpiece I've ever heard/seen. This man plays the piano with his heart and you can feel it... Bravo!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
I agree.
My favorite interpretation .
one of the best versions of Claire de lune by Debussy
BESONOV IVAN IS BETTER
LOL. And there was also Victor Borghe ;) @@ferube4171
Can't you hear it? Can't you hear him singing his heart out through this piece? Phrasing is not what happened here that made this performance so well executed. There are many recordings on youtube of this song that are played correctly and with good phrasing. The reason why this performance was so great is because he had something that he wanted his audience to feel with him by listening to his performance.
I saw him at the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra last week, and his version of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 made me cry. And I'm not even a classical music aficionado.
fuera weon esta version esta en nada
That’s exactly what I was thinking :)
I can't take you seriously with that profile picture
Y r u so try hard in the comments bro
Beautiful interpretation. The tempo is exquisite as is the emphases.
IMO it’s really trash the rallentando in mm 69 was not executed well... it’s 420 beats off even after the rubato poco et poco 😐
I love de bussy, always hap 😂
It’s my all time favorite song of my lifetime
Yes
👍🏿🎹
Ever?
I was felt lonely. Debussy is fantastic and His performance is beautiful.
My late father, Maurice Shepherd's signature piece. I miss you Daddy xxx
This one made me cry
That was the correct note at 3:35. You need to listen to other versions of this piece to know that it is a vital part of the music. Andrew is incredible. We saw him in person with the Detroit Symphony orchestra. He played the Grieg Piano concerto in A minor. A fabulous, moving performance. I would recommend any see Andrew in concert if you get the chance!
Can you elaborate as to why that was a vital part? it sounds like a mistake.
TROLL he played it a little louder than most but the reason it’s important is that it creates a lot of tension in that chord. So when the next notes are played they sound even better. It’s the same with the 4rd chord of the song, it’s create tension which is how Debussy wanted it to sound
@@zacharyteske9206 Yea, i thought that was a mistake when i first listened to the piece but when you think about it, it does make a lot of sense to have that tension there.
@@yeon723 It's the 7 of the V7. It adds tension to the dominant chord. The way he plays it just accents the note because he plays it loudly and slightly delayed, so it may seem out of place at first, to some.
I saw katia's ( Buniatishvilli) version but she is way technical for me.
This guy has the precise amount of thecnique and FEELING.
this is the best interpretation I've heard of clair de lune
Masterful interpretation. No words.
He is a Alchemist of Debussy’s music
Andrew's specutacular performance with exquisite skill and breathtaking technique is beyond description , immeasurable , unfathomable , inspirational , graceful and comfortable to the ear and the mind
There is something extraordinary in his superb performance

Most elegant performance ever
Andrew is a fantastic pianist, full of emotion and an extremely handsome man. I have never seen a man more handsome than him. I am a guy and I don't feel ashamed to say this but when I see him playing I love everything about him, his hands, his hair, his beautiful body and presence on the stage. He looks and sound like an angel sent to visit us.
Ayo
This makes quarantine so much better thank you

Understated and beauuutifully phrased :)
The soft tone of the piano and the recording quality enhances the experience of this out-of-this-world performance

Fantastic interpretation. I always think about Andrew’s interview where he bragged about the size of his hands and fingers! I guess he’s been blessed in many areas ;)
I can feel the same thing like you, when you play this master piece.

The intro felt a little fast for me, but the middle and end were absolutely perfect

Amazing...
So beautiful... *---*
Very beautifully done! I suppose it's just inevitable that someone is always going to clear his/her throat, cough, blow their nose, etc., during the performance no matter where you are in the world. It's just human, I guess. Like I said, very beautifully done! Bravo!
c est magnifique bravo! Dire que je dois l'apprendre...
Alors, vous l'avez appris ? :)
This is absolute magic. You do Debussy proud. :)
your message, I clearly recieve it through your play...
Outstanding. Normally it takes an older performer to draw the mixed sentiment out of this piece. I would love to hear more from you.
I listened this song for first time in Evil Within, since then I cant stop to listen it

My mom played this on piano growing up. Somewhat clumsy I guess. She is still alive today…but I know this song will bring me to me knees one day after she passes and I hear it again. It’s beautiful and pictures my moms tough life to a tee
