Appropriately. Forget Openheimer. Forget Barbie. Forget Napoleon. This was the movie of 2023.
Oh God that was so good. Really set the tone for this very evil adaptation of the character. And what a movie.

@@FLIGAMA A big part of the series and this entry is him coming to grips with his own evil and violence. He’s a killer. That’s what he did for the CIA. But his wife whom he deeply mourns was gentle. The series owes a lot to The Unforgiven. Same basic story line. In this entry he embraces who he is and enjoys the violence. This song to me emotes how unhinged his violence can become
I saw this wayyy less as evil and more of just tired … people will consistently call anyone evil for doing the right thing even if it involves violence .. the thing is .. I always saw the character of Robert as a very calm collective and willing character to help anyone in need .. I feel personally (my opinion) the reason he lost all hope in the beginning of this film was just that … he lost everyone he cared for / loved he is an amazing guy at heart but he is unwilling to let the helpless suffer no matter where he is at and that’s just a chip he possesses no matter what … I think the conclusion of this one really solidified his arc
@@ThePolkadotPresser I agree with everything except the evil. Throughout the series especially the first but also the second he discusses what he was. How his wife did not like it. How he changed for her. “Are you a good man”. “I don’t know.” All that time in church. He shoots the first mob boss in the buttocks before he kills him. He puts his face right up against the face of the second mob boss’ brother as he dies. He poisons that second mob boss and tells him he will die in six minutes. Cuts him loose and watches him suffer all the way to the street where he kicks him over on his back to look him in the eye. CIA killers are inherently evil. That’s according to the series. Yes he gets vengeance against the bad but he enjoys it. He accepts that in this movie. The soundtrack very much is about the evil breaking out. The shrieks of that phased guitar in Nine Seconds etc.
@@TheOGPokezae Well I cannot go into a nuanced complex gradation here. I have to use general terms. I expect most people get my drift. Evil is defined here as enjoying the violence and mayhem. The character is evil. But he’s a good evil. Or how about this - a necessary evil.
Second this scene played this song.....I was like "oh lord" 😂. Savage
This song is perfect for this movie in so many ways, for Robert, for the setting, for everything. You know when you hear this someone's about to die in the most brutal way you can imagine. Corkscrew through the jaw, van to the chest, fireplace poker through the throat, revolver through the eye, whatever you can think of. Robert does good things in the most brutal, gory, violent way he can. That's all he knows.
Once again Denzel showed why he's a 2-time Oscar guy and Antione Fuqua is excellent directing action dramas.

I expected to hear again the music from the mall scene of the first film but they went and did this god tier song that represents the demon that is inside of Robert character, a demon crueler than any mafia mob
This theme in this movie actually has elements of the main Equalizer theme that was played in part 1 if you listen closely .. it’s a lot more slow and menacing in this film but I actually loved it because I think it fit Robert’s personality in this movie perfectly and I know exactly what you mean!
@@ThePolkadotPresserbro can u please explain where u heard that pieces of the original Equalizer theme in this one? Cuz I’m a huge fan of the first movies soundtrack and kinda dissapointed they’ve haven’t included any tracks or leitmotiffes from there into a 3rd movie.

@@Ja99prod the song on the equalizer 3 soundtrack called Almonte’s victory has elements of the Alone theme from the equalizer 1 in it if you listen closely I actually noticed it right away in the theater
@@ThePolkadotPresser oh yea, been listening to it closely lately and found some similatities indeed, but only in the very beggining. And i doubt if it was done intentional. Anyways, Altomonte Victory is a very beutiful track on its own
