  • Welcome to part 5 in my series on making a Giger's Alien inspired 1890s walking suit. I've made a playlist for the series which you can find here.
    • Giger's Alien inspired...
This is my somewhat quirky take on the historical Disney costumes other costubers have been making. Disney own the rights to the Alien franchise so in my mind the alien is a Disney princess so it counts 😁
This was very much an exercise in experimentation. I've never decorated a hat before and I'm not the best at sculpting (It's a mystery to me why I thought I'd be able to sculpt jewelry from scratch 😂).
I had a lot of fun with this project and I hope you enjoy watching me struggle along.
The final part in this series should be uploaded next week, I can't wait to be able to show you the whole thing.

The hat is SO right for the shape of your face!!! And I think you did just fine with sculpting. This just gets better and better! Can't wait to see everything put together.

Your face hugger is adorable ^_^ and thank you for sharing the tip about the thermo-plastic and the fimo!

I think you're sculptures are great. The brooch baby is perfect, especially since you darkened the background. And the hat - so shiny and Victorian - and then that creepy face hugger lurking in the back. Love it!

This project is so cool! Your hat looks awesome!
I'm just hoping your jacket will have some sort of spine detail, similar to what TheClosetHistorian did to her Victorian day bodice. That just seems very Giger to me.

Darn you are good!! I think your sculpting is wonderful!! Don’t sell yourself so short. Remember you are the only one who sees the little imperfections highlighted in neon with huge arrows pointing to them!! The rest of us see an overall finished project!! It’s absolutely stunning by the way!!! Love the concept love all the pieces and what your hat!! Even though I’ve been told I don’t look good in any style of hat!

Thank you so much 💖 And I bet you do look good in hats. I thought I didn't suit hats until I started making them and coukd get the proportions right for my head.
