Can the Sims just give me a normal small telescope that can fit on balconys and are generally not the size of the actual house
Will it not work sized down?
@@JLSsterxDirectionerx I think it would look kind of creepy
and a microscope that fits on top of a table and doesn't look like a laser gun doofenshmirtz would make. and maybe make the cupcake machine look less like an industrial assembler and more like an easy bake oven
I have no idea if it actually works sized down
Ems I have it sized down in my main game. It works and looks normal with kids but with adults their heads will poke through and they stand straight up inside of the telescope. 🤷🏼♀️ my suggestion is to look away when you make an adult use it, it just breaks the game vibe for me.
Just gonna flex: my sims always scoot across the bed
lucky :(
Scooting broke 2015 what the hell are you talkin about?!
@@aliisakarvonen6187 not for everybody

Saaame!
I would love to see a “lets play” with this house, or with the off the grid system😍😍
she has something similar already on her channel, I believe it's called living off the land :)
Living off the land only lasted two episodes, tho.
she had a really cute dog in the let’s play. it’s was so cute.
local trash rat it only lasted two episodes though 😩
Yesss
Personally, I'd love to play Sims in a more 'historical' setting. I mean, I know Sims 3 came out with 'Sims Medieval'. . .but that was a whole different game, different dynamics, different systems and waaay more structured. I'd like it in the same game. Like. . .a medieval world or a victorian world or a 'settlers' world where townies generate in 'historical' costumes (I know they might show up from other worlds in modern dress, but the over all feel could be old-times), no cars/technology are visible and more building designs with historical elements so we can play as a settler, or a medieval lords and ladies or whatever . . .but its the same game. Though, I suppose with the 'built in' functions like computers and phones would throw that off. But at least it would be an attempt!
Me too! I'm doing the decades challenge at the moment and it would be interesting if the sims worlds could be themed around different times, like the Strangerville world is the Wild West, Windenburg is Medieval europe, something like that. The next best thing would be a save file with each world renovated to be from different eras! (If anyone knows of someone who's done that, link pls!!)
like a whole world that's a renaissance fair or reenactment so you can fully play in it as a historical world but it also makes sense within the larger scale of the game!
@@c.m.880 YES!!! That would actually work. Good idea. If you're playing it as a historical world, you could just 'ignore' the inconsistencies that way. It'd work!
Now what can we do to make this happen? :)
It would be really nice if you could just set the whole game or whole world's in certain times. So you could choose yourself. Maybe not as in "it's 1865" but more like "electricity exists/doesn't exist, computers exist/don't" etc and depending on that you only have the mailbox to do stuff or only a computer but not a phone. I think that would be really nice. So you could also build the world to your likings yourself. I think that would be doable, and also more well received. I think if they choose to do only a medieval world or only a 50s world, not as many people would enjoy it
I love done this with the vampire pack!! The dresses and furniture seems very historical
Let’s all appreciate that Kayla’s animal crossing character is a hot dog.
She's a weiner
shes a *weenie*
hot dog hot diggity dog
She also has a duck, frog and cat costume!
So does Ethan (crankgameplays)
When I read the title, i thought it meant that she was building a house off of the building plot-

lmao same i still dont know what "off the grid" means lol
@@8d_g13_maximorileys.9 it means into hiding or where most people don’t live

If any house needs a fire alarm, it’s this log cabin filled with candles...
Burn them all! 😁
Disco inferno, burn baby burn!
Does the fire alarm work off the grid?
Smoke alarms are generally battery powered since a burning building may well have fried circuitry, I sure hope they work like that in the Sims!
@@abilm4557 agreed :) not sure if they work though since they don't say off grid, which would be problematic in the candlelit cabin here :D

@con oh wow
I got a kitten yesterday, he's 7 weeks
I wish there was a world in sims 4 where it’s all Victorian themed or “back in the olden days” themed where there is more lamps and lights that are actually candles or something. And maybe carriages and horses
Strangerville is like that, but i want something more in depth.
Terrance Ilion strangerville seems like an old town from the 70s with a side of Victorian
@@Loonlings yeah, definitely. Strangerville seems like someone tried to build a victorian house now days. They kinda have an older vibe, but they still seem kinda modern.
I mean the vampire world kinda fits the vibe
@@soulaimab9871 yeah but I mean really Victorian. Also the vampire world is really dark and it be cool to have a Victorian world that’s bright and colorful
Kayla: I was literally crying
*Flashback to when Kayla called her mom crying because we got L shaped stairs in the Sims 4*

u are an absolute genius
Well crap, now I need to do this
@@queenizunia3145 i much recommend it! there are wonderful builds out there and very handy custom content (like the computers that look like typewriters - perfect for my ranch writer sim) and you don't need much! strangerville, seasons, cats and dogs if you're feeling fancy. i been playing for a long time and just bought outdoor retreat this week. go wild!
omg!! u should make a tumblr/twitter post with this save file and cc!!! i would totally love to play in that save 😍
Im not the only one!
I turned windenburg into a nice 1880s styled victorian town with victorian sims
And brindleton bay into a nice medieval town with peasants and royalty.
Nothing makes sense, but its fun, and my game has SO MUCH HISTORIAL CC
So freaking early to this video, it doesn’t even have toddlers or swimming pools
oof 😂
Haha
Hahahaha
Give this man a cookie
Does it have ghosts?
Actually,, I've showered in an off the grid, outdoor shower before. So it does work! All you need is some pipes, gravity and a tank for rain water. It's awfully cold, however.
Unfortunately I’m a bit short on gravity
What’s water? We don’t have that here.
Black tank exposed on the south side works well as long as it's over 50F outside. Winter is for hot baths.
You're supposed to boil the water then let it cool for a min
This video just saved me 15% of more in car insurance

Off the grid houses are a really fun idea but until we have a way to collect water or produce electricity it is very annoying in actual gameplay. Hopefully Eco Lifestyle will help off the grid lots.
hopefully the Solar Panels functions as energy source and not just reduce your electric bills, and hopefully we get the Blackouts that were supposed to be added on sims 2
my english is that bad that i thought that “off the grid” means building a house with turned off grid”. like building without looking at the grid by pressing G lol
Lol same
kkkkkkkkk sameeee
hahaha same!!
Off the grid is already an uncommon(ish) phrase in a native English speakers repertoire so I’m not surprised you guys didn’t know it! It’s a weird one for sure.

Did anyone else notice that she was wearing the “TRYGUYS” hoodie. 🥰
I thought that was! I came to the comments to confirm.
oh yeah I did:D
First thing I noticed! Love it
the fact that she's using Eugene's hoodie is literally everything to me
i wish sims could scoot on double beds, cause it would make sense to do that, especially in tiny houses
Like Simsie said. They were able too. But not since 2015
Leonie B mine do
mine do that sometimes. it’s not every time, but they do it. i pushed the cats and dogs double bed up against the wall and they use either side. most of the time, they use the side that isn’t against the wall, but... they use it.
Again like Simsie said: for a very few people is seems to work 🤷🏼♀️ but mostly it's broken.
Am I now bragging about the fact I can scoot?! Yes, yes I am. MY SIMS CAN SCOOT HOW DO YOU FEEL KAYLA 😂❤️
Oh my god i wish the off the grid lot trait would be better.. I mean some candles don't work?? I just want the candles to function off the grid and have a tub and a shower that don't make my sims mad at me..
If we had a water pump or something where like the sims are happy if you have one and miserable if you don’t
I hope in eco lifestyle you can use solar panels/wind turbines to heat water off the grid
What gets me is the lamp that looks like a kerosene lamp which I think would be perfect for off the grid/historical plays, but because it's actually "battery-operated," they don't function off the grid. And honestly I wish we could use a bathtub. I just want one where I could bathe a toddler in. I know plumbing doesn't work off-the-grid, but how it a shower supposed to work but not a tub??
EA really need to put someone to go to the catalogue and add older objects to the off the grid category...
With English as my second language, I thought "off the grid" meant to build a house out of the grids ! I was like omg what is that devil challenge
Same
You know what though, Miko came over to my sim’s apartment, crawled across the bed to a side that you couldn’t get to, got off the bed on that side, and for some reason she couldn’t crawl back. Miko died in my apartment.
For some reason, every time I invite Kayla Flemming to a wedding she shows up in the default underwear and high heels. One time she managed to get hit with a lightning bolt too, so she was wandering around half-naked, dazed and sooty

I feel like this is definitely one of Ron Swanson’s many cabins
how off grid do you want to go?
Kayla: yes.
There isnt really a level of off the grid you can go to. It's literally just of the grid or on the grid.
Can’t wait for Kayla to rebuild the houses and change their wall heights in the coming new world 😂😂
Yes! I've been looking forward to it since before the best pack was even announced 😅
SuenShane YT Yes! I wish they would put lots of lots and fill at least half of them with houses so that Kayla will be so busy rebuilding all the lots. Hahaha! Then I am going download her bar and whatever community lots to replace mine. 😁
PositivelyNice that’s my dream haha hahhaha, might be Kayla’s nightmare tho😂
She probably used like a candle from every pack🤣 That’s why there’s so many packs🤣
there’s a challenge called the history challenge (if you google it there’s a full explanation) but you basically start from really early eg the stone age and you work your way through eras until the modern day. if you really like the idea of living in the past that would be really fun and i would love to watch it! ❤️
That’d be really cool

This house looks so cosy and warm inside, like I would love to be here during the winter
I would love to see a generation series, you could start like at 1800 and every generation is a new century, it would be really cool ❤
Aw, I haven’t thought of newspapers in past games for so long. I’m fr nostalgic about the newspaper, and it added a really subtle bit of realism to the game.
The amount of lighting the game offers as off the grid is so insanely low
Well that’s how it would be in real life
of course, but im mostly talking about how many things aren't tagged correctly, like tons of candles dont work off the grid that have gotten overlooked, stuff like that and the bathtub your sims can make at the woodworking table. but on the selfish side, an off the grid ceiling light would be a godsend lmao
@@mateapav3737 yeah, nah shit, we're talking about the fact that there are no oil lamps.
I did almost adopt a raccoon when I got Dogs and Cats. I'm glad to know that there's a fox available as well 😅
I think there is a dingo too.
I've got a pet fox named Pippin in the game and he's my oldest Sim kid's familiar (I have a dragon, Sim-husband has a phoenix, middle child has a raven, and youngest child has a fairy).
I’m excited for what eco living could bring to this kind of gameplay. Kayla, I just love your “it’s fine”. It’s so relatable. 😂 and completely agree this lot trait needs some updating.

I love how this cabin looks like. So cozy and old. Wow. That stone path is so cute too. If I had all those packs I'd actually download and try playing this way, I've never tried that before. Anyways, you really inspire me to make small but actually decorated houses now, not only in Sims, so thanks!
I just found your channel and I am just enjoying every single video so much 😭😭!! I used to play Sims religiously when I was younger and watching these are so enjoyable, like filling a little empty space in my heart. Thank you for putting out content I didn’t even know I needed.

My cat is staring at my feet. Dunno why.
This is one of my favorite builds you've ever made. So cool!
I really need an off the grid house ride now because I’m doing the Runaway Teen challange mixed with the Rags to riches challenge 😂
i started playing sims 4 last year and i was unaware that your sim used to be able to scoot to the other side of the bed if it was against a wall.. it's never worked for me and i'm big mad now lol
I started playing last year as well. Initially it worked for me, and then it stopped sometime between Island Living and Real of Magic. I'm pretty salty about that.
Imagine this with the candle making table and knitting in a rocking chair! That would raise it to like a whole new level
This is such a nice build! It feels so cosy
Omg, A thing I want in the Sims 4 sooo bad is Historic mode or historic lot trait. It would work like no technology or any of the modern stuff. You can have plumbing and stuff but no tablets no computers.
Hey, this is one of my gripes with the Sims. I am very interested in this and enjoyed hearing you vent what I was thinking when I gave up my off the grid gameplay. It took SO LONG for my Sim to skill up and build a bathtub, and it wasn't usable... But he had a pool and it was always fresh and clean! So you have a captive audience of at least one!
I love these kind of build! I just love the idea of off the grid in the sims 4!
i love this game play style!! please do a lets play like this!!! i would watch the hell out of it!!
When Kayla said "the olden days, two weeks ago" I really felt that

Yessss do a lets play! You’re not the only one who loves this type of gameplay!
This is the way I play the most!! Thank you for this build, I’m excited to use it
Image playing the sims like it’s the early 1800’s with this trait. I think I just gave me a reason to play the sims again👌

J'Adore KPOP Okay thanks! Sometimes challenges are hard though because I’m a console player that can’t use cheats.
I'm currently doing the 5 year celebration legacy and this is perfect to have my current off the grid sim move into now that she's made some $$ ^_^
I love this kind of stuff in game and irl
I love that she is so considering about using to many packs!!
when you mentioned the good old days of college two weeks ago all i could think of was professor hidgens in working boys going "last weekend felt like... ages ago"
A highlight of my day ❤
I would watch the heck out of a new off the grid series!
The scoot trick works for me. If you have two sims all you have to do is assign one side to one sim and the other side to your other sim. Then, the sims scoots over to their side. But say your sim wants to sleep on the left side, which is the side against the wall, but your other sim is already sleeping on the right side. Your sim sleeping on the right side has to get up so your sim can get into bed. You also can't wohoo in it. They could make a crawling animation or they could make ADULT BUNK BEDS!!!!!
"Im not mad" *goes on a rant on why shes mad*

I'm so excited for the grow your own food aspect!!
The build looks beautiful!

I knew you'd love Animal Crossing. XD
Also I'm not a history major at all but I miss the the newspapers and stuff too! I've never played completely off the grid but I've always enjoyed regs to riches type playthroughs. Anything where you get to see your sim grow up as much as possible.
This is one of my favourite builds you have ever done!

I really like this build! I'm particularly impressed with landscaping 😊
Adore this build - a challenge I always do for myself, don't think it's very close to ones I see in the forums, is of a dude that is on the run for whatever reason who has got to pay a ransom for his privacy. He always starts mid-nowhere, with absolutely nothing, and usually builds up first by fishing and then later by being a woodcrafter. The woodcrafting is essential: as he builds handiness (and funds), he can "craft" parts of his house. Usually, he was actually on the run from a murderous royal sibling, and I also "maintained" that family just by making sure the family HAD an heir, and how this dude and his family could live later on in life often depended on the Sim game randomly generated traits - the eventual goal was to have his great-great grandkid marry back into the royal family, restoring justice and peace and some fairytale happy enchantment, ending "the curse," whatever that was, and all that. Or I do some version of this, mostly because I like having the sim build up skills and give him/her a story that correlates directly to life building, usually has to go through a few generations and a fun, final twist is that the original heir gets to remain as a ghost (usually in the household, but unplayed, just for 'curse' and 'havoc''s state), which is a part of the curse - he must be regenerated to completely end the curse. Then all is peaceful again. Anyway, your build would be PERFECT for that generation in-between: has all the stuff, and is warily waiting for the town to say they've got to turn on power and therefore provide documents (resulting in more ransom money). Sorry, bored and having fun randomly. Hope you and yours are well!
