- Get me a Drink!, In Moov 3d printed robot, Grey! At the RSSC meeting (Robotics Society of Southern California).
The In Moov robot is an open source, life-sized, humanoid robot created by Gael Langevin, a French sculptor, designer and inventor and Maker.
The In-Moov robot was started with an open source prosthetic hand, but led to a number of projects.
The main part of the in moov is that it can be printed on a 12x12x12 cm area.
Many, many projects have been sourced from this robot, including, Alan's In Moov Robot!
You will find many in-moov robots, as well as other humanoid robots with arms, a torso and head. However getting the many degrees of freedom is very important to a true humanoid robot.
The other major challenge to creating humanoid robots is 'walking'. Walking robots are not well established, because the problems of balance and managing it electronically is hard.

Movements are very smooth!
Although it might look like the robot is hand tele-operated, using ROS kinematic calculations between the start point and the end point makes it very interesting. This means the robot knows its own body and can therefore calculate the paths in realtime.

Hey Hewad, this InMoov uses a small 350 watt PC power supply, which provides power to both the computer and all of the servo motors. I use a 12v to 6v 25amp buckdown converter to provide power to all of the servos off of the 12v rail. It the current setup it consumes a maximum of about 180 watts with all servos actuated.
The way everything is set up, I could in theory replace the PSU with a PicoPSU + 12v battery pack, which would allow InMoov to operate for a short time with zero cables.
