Mine frizz up really bad as well. You must have 3b,c hair. They tend to look better in 4c hair. They frizz up more and look bad sooner with 3 textured hair it seems like to me
When I saw this video on my recommended, I tot to myself to send you the video cos the person looks like you! My shock when I started watching and realized it’s you! So it took 3 years to get your hair to its length now 😮😮😮? I have renewed hope for my hair!
Absolutely love twisting my hair and many styles you can do with it. This video was very detailed on keeping them maintained and looking the best they can. It’s coming up on week 6 and it’s finally starting to get frizzy which I love so I see another 2 weeks before taking them down to let my scalp rest for a bit. Overall an amazing video!
I love your tips and i will be trying all this out. The longest i have worn out twist is 2 weeks and i have seen reasons why and how to correct them. Nice tips. I love it.
I’m just finding this video after searching how to maintain mini twist for 3 plus months because I have decided to put mini twist in my hair for 6 months and this video encouraged me to do so now that I know how to maintain them. Indigenous strands also encouraged me to rock my twist and to care for the matted ones as I go along. She uses fenugreek gel to care for her ends and I’m going to try that. DIY gel. I heard that braiding them at the roots cuts down on matting as well.
Hi Pamarow , I rock my mini twists and absolutely loooove them.. I keep them healthy by detangle re-twist once a month... I wash it maybe once to twice a month and seal it with excellento...its lovely, also each week i find that i have to at least apply my cantu leave in with argan or cantu coconut oil spray and also aussie milk from time to time. I made the mistake of slowing down on putting any of these in my hair and she retaliated by badly breaking. Sealing with excellento really make the difference and my hair stays moist.
tree-ant sounds like you have a good routine happening! We all miss out on moisturising here and there😅 but it’s not the end of the world😀! Am a huge fan of re- twisting and recycling parts. The breakage is much less!
Wondering if I can do your weekly hydration and moisture routine (with heat) while I have mini braids. (Also, mini twist vs mini braids?) Love your vids and appreciate your pov.
@@CoilyDiarieswow, this vid came back up in my algo and I completely forgot I asked you a question. You’re incredible for replying years after the video posted. Whole i gave you 😂 how did you curl your ends? Perm rods? Did you use flaxseed gel or any kind of gel to create a cast?❤
That’s right. Frizz is apart of who we are. I absolutely don’t care about frizz. I like twists cause I can have a dreadloc look. In fact people ask me how long I’ve been growin my locs all the time. They just twists 😆
It’s 2023 and I’m just finding this video I have twists and trying to grow my hair I have my roots braided the strands twisted to keep my parts nice I wash my hair every Wednesday it will be 2 days before wash day that my hair gets dry and at the end of every month on the wash day take down to redo it this video was very helpful and I will also try that product and see if it will work for me
@Coilydiaries At 6 weeks do you then retwist? If not, when do you retwist the hair? I am struggling with matting and determining when I should retwist after washing it.
Definitely going to try the butter. Is twice a week okay? Because in the past, it lasted one week and a half from spritzing too much products, so i think butter is better like you did without working it in too much.
Does wetting your hair cause tangles when you take it down? I want to wash my twists but I’m afraid the shed hairs will shrink and cause matts and tangles
Yes it does. If you can avoid a wash great 👍🏽 otherwise braid the twists before the wash and let them dry in the braids. The stretch will help minimise the tangles. Lots of oil when it’s time to take down the twists
Amazing to see how far you’ve come in the past 3 years!! What a journey!!
😜😜😜 love to see the progress
Actually ❤❤❤❤
This popped up on my feed and I couldn't believe it was you as I subscribed early this year... Love to see the growth

Iv done two weeks now and looks so bad🤣🤣🤣 but I will close my eyes and go another week

Me also😢
Thank you! Awesome tips!

A year+ after watching rhus video.... I came back because I am doing mini twists for the rest of this year 🙂
You go girl!
I just had mini twists put in my hair that I want to last for 8 weeks. This was a perfect tutorial on weekly care. Thank you. 🌸💖
So glad this was helpful!
Great video. Just starting with my 2 strand twist and had no idea on how to take care of them.
At what week do you retwist?
Also you're the real mvp for still replying to comments after 3 years 😊❤
Thanks
Week 4 ☺️

Love how your hair has transitioned. Would you still recommend aunt Jackie's seal it up product (2024)?
no

Yes I do
How did you curl your ends because mine keep running and are fluffy too
No I didn’t
@@CoilyDiariesmaybe the braids while washing is what they are referring to. Gives it a curly look when you take it down
My mini twists lasted only 3 weeks. It Mattes at the roots so badly
yes the matting can be a nightmare if not moisturised and lubricated well. also try to increase the size of your twists to minimize this problem
What! This was just 3 years ago!?
Yes🌺
So u dont do anything on first week
