The cast of this is truly staggering. We have multiple Burton regulars, 2 Hammer actors, several Harry Potter alumni, 3 Sith Lords and so forth. (And yes, some of those roles overlap.)
Just fell in love with this movie a couple months ago. Watch it all the time now. Such an amazing cast and atmosphere. Can’t believe I lagged on this for 20 years lol.
That's why I always thought she was perfect as Katrina.. cause most people saw Christina Ricci/Gothic setting, and thought "Wednesday Addams".... So when you saw her although Blonde, and sweet natured... she looked like she COULD be twisted. Which fit Tim Burtons world perfectly.
Sleepy Hollow is a masterpiece that Tim Burton is proud of himself to make a pretty darkest film adapting from a Washington Irving’s novel. I loved this movie and it’s perfect to watch on Halloween. Even though it’s playing in theaters on thanksgiving. Lol! No matter. It’s awesome. RIP Michael Gambon you shall be missed.
It's easily one of the best Tim Burton films that has Johnny Depp as the lead character(Willy Wonka clearly being the worst lol) and a good bunch of supporting characters, including a lot of well known actors, and a great gothic visual design for the Sleepy Hollow world. It's a film that the whole family could enjoy, especially at Halloween.🎃
I think I have watched this 2 dozen times. What a great small town mystery of its own. TLOSH is essentially a missing persons case. But this is a slasher murder mystery. Smart.
I really enjoy this version of the classic short story. While I admire what Kevin Yagher wanted, it sounds too much like what was required of any ‘90s slasher; I’m glad they kept him for the effects as they are so gruesome. Burton’s quirky vision was a perfect match for this kind of tale, but he does it with his own flair. The cinematography is fantastic, Danny Elfman delivers an eerie yet lush score, the cast is quite fun & the Hammer film feel is a treat for any fan of those films
Enjoy and love your guys content, thanks for making fun and intriguing videos. Someday I’d like to see you guys talk about The Voices and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters on either Black Sheep series or The Greatest Horror Movie You’ve Never Seen.
I Love Sleepy Hollow I Remember Watching This On Showtime Last Year. For The Record This Is The Best '90s Horror Film To Date Next To Scream And Halloween H20.
Sleepy Hollow 1999 felt like a beautiful tribute to Hammer Horror, but we wouldn't forget Christopher Walken's hilariously awkward performance as the Headless Horseman! Haaaaaaaaaaa~
In the grand scheme, this one really doesn't get its due. It has its own unique look and feel even among Tim Burton movies, and everything about it works. Christine Ricci is one of my all time favorite actresses, I've crushed on her since she was Wednesday Addams.
Absolutely love this film. It’s a masterpiece. Should never be called a perfect adaptation though, because it is completely it’s own story, ha. Excellent in so many ways though. Christina was totally perfect and a complete dreamgirl in this film. For a truer adaptation though, the Hallmark version is excellent. Nothing is more fun than the animated Disney version though.
Probably Tim Burton's best movie in my opinion because it plays to all his strengths, it's dark, weird, gothic, and without feeling out of place due to it's more colonial setting when things like superstition, paranoia, occultism and the like were more commonplace. Also Johnny Depp is perfect as this stories interpretation of Ichabod making him a man obsessed with science after superstitions destroyed his childhood forced to confront the supernatural is a nice spin on things.
This to me is Tim Burton’s best work. It’s everything Cinema should be. I just wish they made a black and white version which they were planning to do but never made it in. As they chose a dark tint, grey look which dose work very well with this.
Visually, this is an absolutely perfect adaptation. Perhaps the greatest adaptation of all time (again, visually). The actor who could've been physically perfect for Ichabod was Adrien Brody.
Tim Burton's last great movie before his lame phase began. Watch this movie every October. I once rented a movie theater for $100 so my friends and I could see it on the silver screen at Halloween.
Several members of Star Wars would sign up to the film including Ian Mcdermad - Ray Park as the horseman and I believe Nick Gilliard handled fight choreography
I’ve heard Tim Burtons Sleepy Hollow is the definition of a slasher movie, I think of Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow movie is Mr. Burton’s first actual slasher movie
Who TF are "most people"??? I've have yet to hear more than 2 people say 1999 was the "best" year for movies. Every movie buff I know CLEARLY knows that the 80s are subjectively the best years to pick from. My personal choice is 1987: The Untouchables Predator Lethal Weapon Full Metal Jacket RoboCop The Princess Bride The Lost Boys ANES 3: Dream Warriors Hellraiser Evil Dead II Wall Street Plains, Trains, and Automobile SpaceBalls Dirty Dancing Fatal Attraction The Running Man Beverly Hills Cop II Good Morning Vietnam. Raisin Arizona Three Men and a Baby Over the Top Harry and the Hendersons Monster Squad Witches of Eastwick Creepshow II RAW Hamburger Hill Empire of the Sun. Many of these are top rated EPIC award winning movies or Cult classics. And that's not counting 1981, '82, '83, 1984, '85, '86, '88, or '89. I could name 20 movies from each year and still beat 1999... Compared to 1999: Sleep Hollow 🙄 The Matrix Fight Club American Beauty The Green Mile The Sixth Sense Magnolia The Blair Bit... I mean Witch Project. Boondock Saints American Pie Cruel Intentions Those are the only ones I can think of worth mentioning.
What I wish is that someone would explain the PLOT ! The wealthy landowner (Gabon) said in the Church that there was a conspiracy among certain members of the town. I know it had to do with the Will, but who were the members of the conspiracy and what was its purpose?
With the gothic sets shot mostly indoors, the grey look, and Christopher Lee and Michael Gough in the cast, Tim Burton finally made a Hammer film.
Agreed!
As was his intention. And he just ran with it. This is Hammer if they had the resources of a major Hollywood studio.
One of my favorite Tim Burton movies!
RIP, Michael Gambon, 1940-2023.
❤
My favorite Tim Burton film. Gothic beauty in its purest form.
Agree 🎉
His masterpiece for sure
I wonder what a Tim Burton adaption of the movie It would go
The cast of this is truly staggering. We have multiple Burton regulars, 2 Hammer actors, several Harry Potter alumni, 3 Sith Lords and so forth. (And yes, some of those roles overlap.)
Not to mention a Paul Verhoven actor.
Amazing!
Who's the third sith lord? I know Ian Mcdiarmad and Christopher Lee are in it who am I missing?
@@hunterprice3320 Ray Park (Darth Maul) plays the Horseman when he's headless.
@mst3KGf That's so cool. Makes sense why I didn't notice him lol. Didn't see his face.
My favorite part of this movie is when Christopher Walken told the little girl to be quiet and she purposely snapped that stick in two.
This movie is pure gold, I loved it back in 1999 and still watch it from time to time.
One of my favorite movies. One of few I can watch and not get tired of.
Just fell in love with this movie a couple months ago. Watch it all the time now. Such an amazing cast and atmosphere. Can’t believe I lagged on this for 20 years lol.
This movie really is a underrated Halloween classic.
Christina Ricci is mostly known as the morbid Wednesday Addams, so it's almost bizarre to see her play the blonde, sweet natured Katrina.
She was a witch!!!
She's better as Wendsday but she's alright here.

RIP Michael Gambon you shall be missed.
Whoever wrote the script for this did an amazing job! One of my favorite movies :)
I remember seeing it in the theatres. It was great. This is one of my faves. The acting was great too.
This is one of my all time favorite horror films. I watch it every year at Halloween, along with Trick 'R Treat
The cast in this movie is out of this world! Everyone is fantastic!
Including Ray parks even though you don't see his head! 🤣
Oddly enough, Christopher Walken didn't know how to ride a horse. The cast is amazing. Love this movie.
My favorite movie to watch every Halloween season :)
Thank goodness Burton got his way and got Depp in thr movie as its one my fave performances of his. Great movie.
I think I have watched this 2 dozen times. What a great small town mystery of its own. TLOSH is essentially a missing persons case. But this is a slasher murder mystery. Smart.
I still have the Headless Horseman deluxe action figure and horse set.
This is my favorite of all the films Tim Burton has directed.
Great video. One of my favorite horror movies of all-time. This and Bram Stoker's Dracula were the best non slasher horror films of the 90's.
I laughed way too hard when Christopher Walken would hiss 😂
It's ironic that prior to being cast as the Headless Horseman, Christopher Walken didn't know how to ride a horse. 😂 🐴
Just received the 4K UK steelbook from amazon!
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 ✌🏻
I really wished Tim Burton made more horror movies. He really could have a string of horror classics on his hand.
The best Burton's movie, a worthy addition to truly the greatest year in cinema history - 1999!
Best part was when Johnny Rico got into a fight with Darth Maul and was holding his own for awhile.
Brilliant movie, JD at his best. Always love watching this movie.
Have loved it since the first time me and my family watched it back in 1999! My mom had a sore neck for a week with all the decapitations on screen 😅
I have the 4K. I saw this twice in theaters. My favorite Tim Burton movie too!
Enjoy and love your guys content, thanks for making fun and intriguing videos. Someday I’d like to see you guys talk about The Voices and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters on either Black Sheep series or The Greatest Horror Movie You’ve Never Seen.
Back in the day I would make it a big deal to watch this every October because I felt like I didn't feel right to that watches every Halloween season
This movie was awesome I ❤Tim Burton movies
Sleepy Hollow is in my top 10 movies, ever. :D & I have my copy signed my Ray Park.
One of my Halloween season traditions right here. Rent it from the library once a year at least.
My kind of gothic horror.
I love this movie.. i have watched it so many times!
I Love Sleepy Hollow I Remember Watching This On Showtime Last Year. For The Record This Is The Best '90s Horror Film To Date Next To Scream And Halloween H20.
U rly got me w/ the first record scratch edit. I was like wtf, this is not what I clicked on 😂
I love every minute of this movie right up until the “bad guy explains every single detail of evil plan” speech at the end.
Sleepy Hollow 1999 felt like a beautiful tribute to Hammer Horror, but we wouldn't forget Christopher Walken's hilariously awkward performance as the Headless Horseman! Haaaaaaaaaaa~
It’s basically a gothic, supernatural slasher and it’s incredible.
In the grand scheme, this one really doesn't get its due. It has its own unique look and feel even among Tim Burton movies, and everything about it works. Christine Ricci is one of my all time favorite actresses, I've crushed on her since she was Wednesday Addams.
A fantastic movie, beautiful and dark.
It's a pretty damn good film. Hopefully I'll watch it at some point this October.
Always loved the story and Burton's adaptation.
I love this movie! It’s so well made. Has such a great feel to it! Just wish it had a touch more horror in it. Still an 8.5 for me.
It was a horseman...... headless!
Jonny Depp is hysterical in this..
Damn, Ray Park was the headless horseman AND Darth Maul, man 1999 was going hard!
This to me is Tim Burton’s best work. It’s everything Cinema should be.
I just wish they made a black and white version which they were planning to do but never made it in. As they chose a dark tint, grey look which dose work very well with this.
Cult classic love this movie!!!
I loved sleepy Hollow. I wished it was a series. With all the same actors and director.
Visually, this is an absolutely perfect adaptation. Perhaps the greatest adaptation of all time (again, visually). The actor who could've been physically perfect for Ichabod was Adrien Brody.
A fantastic movie, trully a masterpiece in my humble opinion.
We will present also this week a sculpture inspired from Sleepy Hollow 🥳🌷🏆👍👌💐🎖🌺
Must say…. Have loved this flick since it came out!
Such a classic!
On my top 10 list of best Tim Burton movies
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is one of my favorite stories, and Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow did it justice. Love this movie.
Brilliant stuff
Top film
One of the few movies that scared me growing up
It is indeed a masterpiece, I love this movie!
I happen to love this film. If you haven't seen it, definitely watch it.
Wow! It won an Oscar! I had no idea!
love this movie
This is for me my favorite tim burton film wow.
I like that Depp didn't want to play an action hero. That's why I didn't watch the series that came out years later, which did exactly that
I will have to place this at the top of my Tim Burton movie list above Batman
Tim Burton's last great movie before his lame phase began. Watch this movie every October. I once rented a movie theater for $100 so my friends and I could see it on the silver screen at Halloween.
Several members of Star Wars would sign up to the film including
Ian Mcdermad - Ray Park as the horseman and I believe Nick Gilliard handled fight choreography
I really miss the movies of the 90's. It was the end of creativity overal in hollywood.
It's rumored that Burton & Depp will make a LIVE ACTION version of the Nightmare Before Christmas. I Hope so.
I’ve heard Tim Burtons Sleepy Hollow is the definition of a slasher movie, I think of Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow movie is Mr. Burton’s first actual slasher movie
Awesome gothic style film similar to the crow and a reboot is not needed.
This film is alot of fun. Christopher Walken is worth the price of admission alone.
Sleepy hollow is my favorite movie.
I don't know about you guys but I love that thumbnail
I loved Blacula when I was a kid.
Next please do WTF happened to Monkeybone
I liked this movie 🎃
Who TF are "most people"??? I've have yet to hear more than 2 people say 1999 was the "best" year for movies. Every movie buff I know CLEARLY knows that the 80s are subjectively the best years to pick from. My personal choice is 1987:

The Princess Bride
The Lost Boys
ANES 3: Dream Warriors
Hellraiser
Evil Dead II
Wall Street

Many of these are top rated EPIC award winning movies or Cult classics. And that's not counting 1981, '82, '83, 1984, '85, '86, '88, or '89. I could name 20 movies from each year and still beat 1999...
Compared to 1999:
Sleep Hollow 🙄
The Matrix
Fight Club
American Beauty
The Green Mile
The Sixth Sense
Magnolia
The Blair Bit... I mean Witch Project.
Boondock Saints
American Pie
Cruel Intentions
Those are the only ones I can think of worth mentioning.
What I wish is that someone would explain the PLOT ! The wealthy landowner (Gabon) said in the Church that there was a conspiracy among certain members of the town. I know it had to do with the Will, but who were the members of the conspiracy and what was its purpose?
I love This movie, but Disney was my first true love. Bing Crosby!!
I live this movie. I saw it in theaters
who says that 1999 was the "greatest year for movies"? Who says that?
I watched it on opening weekend
Sleepy hollow is so underrated movie but i love it ❤
No reason for a reboot. This and BATMAN are 2 of Burton's films that I mostly enjoyed.
5 Victims 4 Graves
❤
It's my favorite of Tim Burton.
I like Disney's Cartoon version too.
Nooo... not a reboot.. I hate them.
My dude, those "Hammer films" you list are not Hammer films.
Just watched this last night….so who’s listening to me through my phone?!?
Sorry this is good but the 1949 legend of sleepy hollow is the perfect version
