I’ve never seen a guy go from a fringe top 75 guy to an undeniable top 5 center / top 25 player OF ALL TIME. Jokic is truly a remarkable player.
He never played like a fringe top 75 guy last 3 seasons though. Literally had 3 of the 5 greatest seasons ever by all metrics that measure impact independently from different angles. The other two? MJ and Lebron. The chance that the metrics were wrong was exceedingly low but yet everyone chose to nitpick and somehow stats were overrated.

There was never a post season moment you can point to and say hey that's why I'm skeptical about this dude, which you can say on just about any NBA star. So to me the skepticism is still weird given his goat level regular seasons.

Nick, how are you not contradictory about Jokic? The dude has been the best postseason performer the last 3 years. How is it his fault he had key guys missing during the runs the previous 2 seasons? The closest Jokic came to choking was against the Lakers in 2020, but nobody had him as a better player than LeBron and AD then so it's not really a choke job.
Your ignorance of Jokic's postseason prowess does not make him a poor postseason performer prior to this season.
he never choked in the playoffs he's won series they were never supposed to win and lost series they weren't supposed to win. The lakers just beat them bc they had the personnel to give Jokic a hard time but he played great despite being defended good. Jokic has always played great in the playoffs nobody said anything bc they want to bring up the last 2 playoff losses where his best teammates were injured that were really important to their system and now teams only had to game plan for Jokic..
I would argue Giannis was the best postseason player 2 years ago. Maybe last year too but Middleton was hurt and he still took his team to a Game 7
@@MickeyEntertains No arguments against Giannis in 2021. I think he was definitely the best that year too.
What Jokic did without both Murray and Porter in 2022 against the Warriors was greater than what anyone else did in that postseason. If you swap Jrue Holiday and Monte Morris for 2022, I don't see anyway the Bucks get to game 7 and I don't see the Nuggets being limited 5 games.

Nick still hasn't given a basketball reason other than " I feel like this is the Heat's year " as to why they will win the series.
He did on his podcast. You might not like his reasoning, but he did cover it. Even so, what would have made anyone choose the Heat in the previous three series? They've far exceeded expectations and made people look stupid for not believing so many times during this postseason. It's not logical that they're here right now, why would it need to be logical for anyone to be rooting for them?
@@freelance759 Dude nick changed his mind in every single round. Round 1: He guaranteed kings will win. He also guaranteed bucks will win.
Round 2: He guaranteed 76ers will win. They lost
Round 3: He guaranteed lakers will win the title. They get swept.
I don't care about his reasoning. It's terrible reasoning.
Nick mentioned FG% from Jokic and Giannis which was very misleading. FG% is a terrible indicative for efficiency. You HAVE TO look at either true shooting, or points per possession, which takes 3 pointer, free throws and your overall shot profile all into consideration. Giannis actually had a subpar scoring year but if you looked at his FG% you'd think he's efficient by mistake.
And yes Jokic is more efficient than Giannis in 2019 despite having 3% lower in FG%. And Jokic had 70% TS this regular season. That's called outrageously, unfathomably efficient and nobody else in the history of nba has ever touched it.
You are partially right. Fg% alone doesn't tell the all story. But combined with point Is pretty close to be and Advance stat. Because getting points with Two pointers Is "harder" so yes shooting 3s lowers your fg% but also bumbs up your points.
Also fg% gives you easily information about how many times you taking a short gave the opponents the ball for a transition. I think points+FG Is a pretty good way to give information about a scoring night. But yes advanced metrica Will Always be the best way to tell something apart
Giannis once again lead the league in points per minute lmao what are you talking about
@@MeBihhhh Confused by your comment. I'm talking about scoring efficiency. Kobe and Harden had great points per minutes but neither was ultra efficient. Not a knock on them because ultra high volume scoring is inherently harder to be done efficiently. But again, different concepts.
@@Young-ep8ik he shot 53% which is his avg. he didn’t have Middleton who is comparable to Jamal for 70% of the season so forcing shots more than he should of on multiple defenders.
That’s like judging jokers playoff series last yr with his injured squad. No need to hate
@@MeBihhhh You sir are one confused individual.
1) Read my post again why '53%' is misleading.
2) We are talking about Giannis in 2021 playoffs vs Jokic this year, in reference to the 3% FG% differential Nick brought up in the segment. So why tf are you bringing up Middleton.
3) Jokic last year vs warriors had a higher TS% than Giannis in 2021, and this year. Not that it's relevant.

I'm going to get flamed 🔥 for this but I think Nikola Jokic has reached the highest level of skill in the history of the NBA. Not only does analytics like BPM, PER, and WinShare Per 48 minutes back me up, but the eye test does also.
I would like to remind everyone, that basketball is a team sport and the best player doesn't always win. He's not the "greatest" player ever because to most people he hasn't racked up the accomplishments, but to me, for the past 3 years -- he has been the best player to ever live.
He has been the best playoff's player for the last 5 seasons. Averages 27 - 12 - 7.5 with huge efficiency with 41% shooting the 3 which is better than career Steph Currie. If He wins this series against Miami he will be up 8/4 career series. The guy is the most impactful player perhaps ever seen

Nick’s hate for Jokic really takes away from his analysis man lol. If Luka was doing what Joker is doing during this entire run Nick would be showing graphics comparing his stats to the greatest single playoff runs in history.
The Nuggets were a 1-man team when Murray was hurt the past 2 years before this one. THAT was the reason for Jokic’s lack of playoff success. That and the fact that he ran into teams that won the Western Conference and had multiple HOFers. It’s not as if Joker was playing poorly, averaging 15/5/5 on 40% shooting.

Defensive stats are terrible fam
*Nick gives Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets their proper credit challenge (impossible)*
I'd be genuinely curious to find out if the air being thinner makes the 3 ball fly differently?
Right, bc I would assume that within that arena, they air is "normal" like it is in a plane to a degree.
it does. i'm not sure it's enough of difference in a basketball game though
If you think about it Nick, Denver did not have a particularly great game either and they still dominated. So imagine, if Denver dominated a game while playing bad then what will Denver do now that the rust is off. I would be very worried if I were the Heat.
Nah, heat will be fine, they figured something out with Highsmith there at the end, Nuggets should be real worried
@@Levi-jz4nl gtfoh that’s a joke
Heat will be lucky to win a single game.
@@Levi-jz4nl oh, the heat figured it all out, just like the Lakers did?
@@Levi-jz4nl y’all really figured something out lol
It amazing how one good run changes people minds on a players entire career
One good run?? Let’s try what should’ve been a 3-time MVP. That means 3 seasons…
3 point percentage aside. THE HEAT DONT HAVE SOMEONE WHO CAN STOP JOKER.
Chris Broussard gonna pull a Shannon Sharpe here real soon I feel. Works with a complete clown.
I like Nick, but when he says "Am I going to be overly swayed by 1 game" I laughed out loud. That's literally EXACTLY what happened last year.
Especially considering he had “boundless” optimism after game 1 of Lakes v Nuggets in the WCF
Nick and Brou should’ve done the remake of White Men can’t Jump 😂😂😂
Nick should be highest paid on this show because they using him to make the other two look like geniuses
I’m not a Bucks fan, but we’re not going to mention Giannis missing 3 games? Whether he can shoot or not, that most likely was the determining factor on the Heat beating the Bucks.
Right Giannis and joker get disrespected non stop
It's bc he had massive games when he played and they still lost. The one game they won was actually one that Giannis missed. They scored 138 points without him lol.
@@freelance759 they were without him for 3 games…care sharing what they scored and did without him?
@@freelance759 just as I thought crickets
When bru said “well done wildes” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everything Bru said he respects in the Heat, the Nuggets have it too. Ticker, toughness, couching, execution and whatchamacallit...
All the “Miami in 6” “Miami in 7” people really quiet now
HEAT IN 6 *IN THE LOUDEST VOICE I CAN POSSIBLY MUSTER*
@@DeshTheDirector clown voice
I never saw this show becoming what it became IMMEDIATELY and then gradually still get better. Wildes still funny and Broussard out of his guest appearance shell … man, please keep this going. Now that Undisputed is basically history switch the time slots!
Nuggets in 5
“Let’s go to break” 😂😂
As a nuggets fan I have watched more sports media in the last week than I have in the last 4 years and I’m so glad I stopped watching sports shows outside of pat mcafee and rich eisen because all these shows and so egotistical and annoying 🤣
Just nonesense ranting
Nick should join Skip after Shannon leaves, they're a perfect match!
"Just put Rui on Jokic" - Solution of every Lakers fans.
Jamal Murray reminds of Kolby. Killer instinct.
4:43 I thought brou was coming for Wildes for a sec lmao
"You don't know Bru" 😂😂😂
why didn't they realized that those players who shoot bricks in game 1 are now had to play defense and constantly running through screens? strus, martin, robinson and vincent had to guard porter, kcp, murray and gordon - who are not just spot up shooters but can also play the inside
Brou pulled a Jim off the office with the camera look 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
How is Nick Wright still on TV? This has to stop.
