Heard L'Enfant Sauvage a few years ago from my spotify discover weekly thing. have not looked back since. Absolutely my favourite band on the planet now. Nobody sounds like Gojira, they are in a league of their own. Check out L'Enfant Sauvage, The guift of guilt live at the brixton acadamy, Fying whales, The heaviest matter of the universe, Silvera. Actually screw it, just check out ANYTHING by Gojira. You will not be disappointed :D
pretty much exactly the same thing happened to me, i had some random lamb of god radio station on Spotify or something and L'Enfant Sauvage came on, I was like "shit, this is fucking _banging_" ALEXA WHAT IS THIS SONG?! and then i went down the rabbit hole...
You needa listen to more gojira. So much more to see with songs as good or better than this. Every single one of their albums are god tier. Probably the best modern metal band in my opinion.
This song is awesome! 🤘🏻🤘🏻 I highly recommend Flying Whales and The Heaviest Matter Of The Universe by these guys...well to be honest, you basically need to check out everything. Amazing band! 🔥
Matt you made Joe's face so well at the perfect time throughout this video, hilarious 🤘🤘. Great react, glad y'all liked it. Definitely jump right in the Gojira rabbit hole. My recommendation would be Gojira - Pray live at Red Rocks, helluva way to end a show.
Such an amazing band and their live performances are mindblowing! Try Gojira - Pray live (extended) at Red Rocks, possibly the best live performance I have ever heard
Gojira are next level and I'm a 51 year old metal head from England. Gojira is Godzilla in Japanese. And as a band and live band they are brilliant. Last band i saw live before Rona hit. Oh and mario is fucking incredibly talented drummer.. Oh.i forgot to say. Listen to prey by gojira...oh my fucking god that is sooooo good live.. 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Gojira is the Japanese name for Godzilla. They first have the latter name but copy right issues made them change to the Japanes. Heaviest matter of the universe, or The art of dying, Silvera. Those are my recomendation if you want heavier Gojira songs. Well anything really from their earlier albums is heavier. This was my first time hearing this song and I did like a lot of moments but it isn't a song that I would say stuck to me right away as many of their others have. For similar style or softer = Stranded, Another world. Are two songs I would recomend there. Ty for uploading your reactions.
"it was a little less RAH! than other stuff we've listened to". Now you gotta go and react to In 'The Wilderness' by Gojira, from 2005 😁. This awesome band has gotten more and more "easy listening" with time (still heavy af though) but check out stuff from their first few albums. Talk about being as heavy as an actual flying whale landing on you haha. Love that they're so consistent and have been kicking ass for 20+ years 🤘
Originally formed as in 1996, they changed their name to Gojira in 2001. The band's lineup-consisting of brothers Joe Duplantier (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (lead guitar), and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass)-has been the same since the band's name change.Mat, apart from "Flying Whales" you may have heard "Silvera" and/or "Stranded" too. In any case, 2 great songs to react to...
I could write a book about these guys. They were originally called godzilla but changed their name late 90’s. They startee of as death metal band (morbid angel influenced). But even better to le, it’s called Godzilla-Possessed. Their first ‘ep’. Than they have Terra Incognita, their first real album. It’s heavy heavy. So much to suggest but to keep it short, here some recommendations: Just so you know, Gojira is known to be very tight live, and i must say that 80% of their discography sounds much better live than studio. I don’t why, but studio they sound a bit dull, over processed to me, at least their latest two. They have very specific concerts where they absolutely shine. If you have a free hour, just check out the complete Link Alive concert, it’s from 2003, but it’s one hell of an experience, so raw and heavy. Here are some of my favourites of theirs in no particular order: Wisdom comes (live Brixton Academy) Gojira Lizard Skin - Vieilles Charrues Clone (Studio) Ocean planet (Live Rio) A Sight to Behold (Live Vieilles Charrues) Blow me away you (Studio & The link Alive) Love (Live Rio) Embrace the world The link alive) heavy drumming in this one Oroborus (eurockeenes concert) Art of Dying (Live Vieilles Charrues) Indians (Live Vieilles Charrues) My last creation (studio) Gift of guilt live at Brixton academy In the Forest Link Alive I’d recommend to start of with Clone (studio version is the best for this one) and art of dying ( Vieiiles charrues concert) up next! Cheers!
More Gojira and Pronto!!!!! Almost all music I listen to now is on reaction channels. Everybody can name a band whose material they love, but that they've never had to time to dive deep into. For me, one of those bands has always been Gojira. May as well begin taking them seriously here. the only song of theirs that I can recommend off the top of my head is The Heaviest matter of the Universe
For something a bit more... "rahh", as you say : Frontierer - Bleak. This was the last time I though "shit this is EXTREME". But "Pariah" by End could aslo be... your fucking end, as they say themselves. Then, Gojira is a band you have to see and watch live. And for a live "rah" Gojira, I'd say "Remembrance" live at Hellfest 2006. I was there and damn, that was heavy (still know every beat of this last part since then :D ).
100% Gotta do more Gojira, don't listen to the people that recommend overhyped tracks. These are some of my suggestions ( the way of all flesh, esoteric surgery, magma, global warming, where the dragons dwell, the axe, mouth of kala, love, space time)
Can't believe hardly anyone reacts to Space Time. It's a damn masterpiece and was written by them for their DEBUT album of all things, when they were in their late teens/early 20's. Mind blowing
@@leebrennan5790 bruh I'm sick of reactions to shit like the heaviest matter of the universe and backbone and flying whales. I mean don't get me wrong I love the tracks but there are so many better ones to react too
Bruh, the comparison between them and mastodon is one I make every single day. They’re whole existences compliment each other musically so well. My wife and I basically have accepted them as the yin and yang of progressive metal. Two sides of the same coin existing in sonic harmony.
Great reaction!!! I love this song....Gojira was the original Godzilla movie...made in japan in the 1954!!??...the best of the godzilla movies in my opinion!! check it...it's scary
You guys have clearly not heard of the best Gojira can offer on terms of heaviness. My personal favourite song by them is 'clone' from their terra incognita album. Then heaviest matter in the universe from from Mars to Sirius. I can name them all, but these 2 you should check out to experience the real Gojira
Wait you dont know Gojira... what? Lol. You NEED to check out Flying Whales and The Art of Dying ASAP. Gojira and Metallica are the biggest influences for the band Orbit Culture BTW.
Gojira = 🤮. Analepsy and Abominable Putridity = 😍. So let's get some Analepsy Apocalyptic Premonition or The Vermin Devourer, or Abominable Putridity Remnants of The Tortured or The Last Communion. Please!!!!!
@@serhafiye7046 forget it , the guy likes generic death metal with a singer sounding like a pig , and by the way the remembrance from the link alive is great too
@@chadeklund9835 I listened all 4 songs you wrote. Firstly i want to say, man, Analepsy > Abominable Puridity. Analepsy is definitely better. Album art, juicy guitar tone, suprise blastbeats (that not sounds stupid) etc. I didn't understand what's going on in Abominable Puridity honestly. I didn't like Remnans of the Tortured but The Last Communion was...So so. Yeah, those bands are clearly better than mediocre pig vocal bands (because even i liked and i'm not listening Slam) But i still don't understand why you don't like Gojira. If we talk about this song, yes, I didn't like too. I think main riff f*cked by that high pitched sound, Mario plays some unnecessary complex shit and song structure is just bullshit. (Considering that they normally make much better music than this) in the end, i choose to spend my life with Gojira. Those slam bands maximum can take a 7,5/10 from me; unless they do a Evisceration Plague level track. :)
You have so much incredible music from Gojira ahead of you.. they are a band made for a deep dive.
Edit after listening to your reaction... Gojira was formed in 1996, so the comparison would be that Mastodon sounds a bit like Gojira :)
They are immune to making bad music,...TEST IT! Lol, different maybe, but not bad
The only good thing of you never having heard Gojira is that now you can react to their discography.

You also gotta do the new Distant song called Cryogenesis. It's heavy as balls and will melt your face off
