Here's the cost breakdown of what I spent on my van! I can finally get rid of all these receipts I've been saving. I tried to make sure I kept all the non-essentials in to show a realistic depiction of how much I spent on the van build cost. Let me know if I missed anything ♡♡

There aren’t enough of these videos out there! This a van that didn’t cost $10,000 (which is way out of my budget) This gives me a really good idea of how much I need to save and be prepared to spend for my van!

Makinna Peterson van builds are honestly as cheap or expensive as you make it. You can literally spend $100 for a cot and mattress with a nightstand or pay $36k to pay someone else to do it.

*TIP* When purchasing a small or random amount of laminate flooring or tile, don’t immediately go to the hardware store to buy it.
Often people who have done larger DIY projects, will have leftovers.
*It’s easy to find an extra box or 3/4 box of laminate flooring left over.
*The same thing applies to tile. I got a great deal on beautiful Spanish tile because I only needed it in front of my fireplace. Craigslist had someone selling leftover Spanish tiles from a kitchen backsplash remodel!
*Stores that sell marble counter tops also have good deals on cut off, scrap pieces. They’re too small for a home countertop , but perfect for a smaller vans. (Or studio apt)
*Carpet stores sell remnants left over from larger purchases. They also sell, or give away, large sample carpet squares, that are now discontinued. (If you don’t mind a checker board effect) Sometimes they give the carpet squares away. (My mom uses the squares for her kids “story time circle” for her daycare) *They also give away old and discontinued wallpaper books. For tiny projects and crafts!
If you have the time and patience, looking for “leftovers” can REALLY save you money.

Ideas: Definitely what you eat on your road trip, whether a place or what you cook. Road trip sleep routine. How about a laundry day? How do you plan a road trip, is there a plan or just spontaneous.

Hello Hannah. Great video. I love how complete your list is. One thing I love is that you bought tools. I' be been living in my suburban for 7 years. At first the maintenance cost were huge, until I bought a bunch of tools and started doing the repairs myself. Now much more affordable. As time goes by you too will feel the sting of these costs. But good news, vehicle maintenance isn't too hard to figure out. If I could do it, so could a smart competent gal like you . let me (us) know how that works out.

Great video, Hannah! When looking at cooking supplies, I’d suggest a single burner Gas One stove-the one that uses both butane and propane. You can get the small bottles at Walmart. In my GMC Starcraft high top conversion van, I found that I use a medium size Solo stove (amazon) works well for quick outside of van cooking-like when boondocking. I bought a 3 qt Instant Pot at Walmart & find I use it a LOT! Instant Pots have multiple uses and the 3 qt is usually priced around $60-it cycles in its use of electricity so the draw is not heavy. And, it is small enough that I have taken it to a self service laundromat and cooked a beef roast with carrots and potatoes in 40 minutes, while I did my laundry. Your details on the build will be helpful for a lot of folks.

You are not boring at all. And you have an amazing van build for only $6400 plus. WOW!! Most of the people out there spent much more than that and their vans aren't any better than yours is. I hope you will keep making more videos. I enjoy your videos very much.

This is veeeery helpful. This seems to come easy to you and I don't think it comes easy to others (it does not come easy to me for sure!) so the kids of videos are veeeeery helpful. Thank you. and you were thorough.
Your videos are great, I have like the several I've seen. I think the things you feel aren't very interesting about yourself are very interesting for others. Ex. When you were talking about ways you make money, you likened it to making money while learning a new skill which not everyone does. Of course some do, but most don't.
I love seeing ways to most efficiently use spaces, either functionally or just living in general. Seeing places you travel to (even previous trips for privacy). I would looooooooooove to see you craft anything just because I love anything art/craft oriented, and if you journal, how you journal :) On that note I think you should save receipts.
