I heard over my radio while driving that a suicide, male was reported at my brother’s work place. I flew to it. I stood back in disbelief looking at my brother. Only a few of the troopers there knew who I was and put it together pretty fast. Everything the other troopers and fire dept did was SOP but they treated my brother’s body with nothing but respect and dignity. They had his wallet but I heard someone say we need a positive I.D. That’s when I let it known why I was there and identified him. They gave me space while I sobbed and held his hand. I was led away by someone and taken home. I will never forget the compassion shown for my brother’s body. Ever.

I'm looking into becoming a firefighter. These videos are really a eye opener. I've seen first hand a women hit on the side of a country road in Florida and a 17 year old kid take his last breaths as he smacked head on a metal telephone pole. It really does take a certain person to be first responders. I respect all men and women that go out away from family and risk it all to save or recover a loved ones body. You only have one life, live it to the fullest and always remember life is precious.
Just joined fire department. U see a lot of messed up stuff bro, but u just gotta make sure ur cut out for it. At the end of the day it's a job we just gotta get done. Very sad for victims always is.
i just recently joined the fire department as well...its not easy but you have to remember you cant save them all. its so hard but you do everything you can and sometimes its not enough. but youll be helping thousands of others it really is a rewarding job i say you go for it
Yup I too have watched a person take their last breaths among lots of other messed up stuff. I am just a tow truck driver. I have only had one call that bothered me, someone ran over someone and dragged them many miles all through the small town I live in. The actual call didn't bother me, the trail left on the road did. They tried to clean it up with a street sweeper but it was there till it rained two weeks later. Occurred to me that could happen to me working on the side of the road. Took me a few days till some random drunk guy doing a robot walk in front of me at a stop sign made me laugh and I was good after that. Prior to that I was kind of obsessed by the whole thing. Humor is the best way to deal with bad stuff. That and talking it out with someone.
My late brother worked as a mechanic at a NAPA store in Oklahoma and his boss was the fire chief. So he got interested in becoming a volunteer fireman and so his boss told him, "OK come with me next time we get a call if we're at work and you can stand and watch and determine if you want to do it or not." He told him if he wanted to do it he would make sure he had some training. Well a few days later they got a call about an accident so he rode along with his boss to the scene. It happened to be a minivan full of kids that had been t-boned by a truck where the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel and hit the van. Everyone in the van and the truck driver died (two adults and five kids in the van and one single driver of the truck) many of which had been ejected. (Nobody was strapped in a car seat or seat belt.) Now my brother and I used to look at the Rotten website to look at real life gore but when you are watching your boss picking up deceased children to be hauled away by the coroner, it hits different and he decided that being a volunteer fireman wasn't for him after all. He commended his boss for being able to work accidents like this. He told him "I don't know how you do it." It was a massive mess that took several hours to clean up. His boss told him "I can't and I have nightmares from this but somebody has to do this." I don't think my brother really recovered from that one time because for years he could not pass that spot without crying a little.
Oh. No. Seeing his arm hanging out when they were pulling the car back over made me heart sink into my stomach! God love him and his family..and everyone involved in this accident and every accident
Same. We see blood and gore everywhere not but little things like that truly send chills through me and remind me that they had a life and people who loved them
I recall passing an accident, and seeing the white tarp covering the windows of the vehicle, which had happened only a short time prior. It's a sickening feeling, knowing there were fatalities and they were still inside the vehicle. My daughter was with me, and we both said a prayer for the victims and their families, and asked God to help us arrive home, safely. You never forget those sorrowful moments in life.
As a law enforcement officer, it is never easier to see these fatalities that arises from car accidents. However, one of the most difficult part is to tell the families that their love ones are deceased. May blessings go to the family of this person who lost his/her life in this horrible crash. May God continue to bless first responders because we are the ones always at these horrific scenes.
I've always asked myself: how do you first responders keep up with the grueling task of recovering these bodies, man I cannot even imagine. My respects for you all, God bless you all.

I got a call my eldest daughter was in a bad accident up the road. I raced there. Fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, several crashed cars and her Ford Explorer was crashed in a vacant lot into a billboard support. The drivers compartment was covered with a tarp…..I knew she was dead. I freaked out, she was 21. They were using jaws of life to get her out. I was so so hysterical they put me in an ambulance. I demanded to get out and get to her, finally they let me out. My son-in-law was there and calmed me down saying she was still alive and they were getting her out. She was T-boned, drivers side, by a stolen Cadillac, speeding, ran a red light, driven by an illegal and he was drunk! No licence either. Four cars were involved with multiple injuries. From what I've heard from actual firefighters, the calls they dread the most are the fatal auto accidents. Friend of mine's brother called it a GG call - "Gore and grief." Fatal crashes seriously, seriously suck for the firefighters and are absolutely tragedies for all involved. It tells you something that they'd rather go charging into a burning building than respond to a car wreck like this one.
So sad for the victim and their family. Recently I was following my wife home and a vehicle passed me on the highway at over a hundred and then passed my wife’s car, I immediately became infuriated realizing the harm that idiot could cause.
We recently went across the country, mostly on highway 40. In most places the speed limit was 70 - 75, and we saw several cars just blow by us doing at least 30MPH faster. It was insane... and I'm from Arizona, where 150 mile drives are routine to get anywhere and the limit is 75.
@@mt_gox Testing is far more strict in Europe and licenses are revoked much more easily so drivers tend to follow the rules better. Even if you are used to 90mph on the autobahn you would never dare go above 50 in the US because other drivers tend to be erratic in their behaviour and will cross into your lane at half your speed expecting you to compensate for it. Never have I seen a country where tailgating and brake checking are so prevalent, a lot of drivers in the US think part of being a driver is to see everyone else on the road as a competitor to be challenged.
I don't think it was. Looks like it's attached still because you can see his navy blue short sleeved shirt above what we can see of his arm. Either way, it's a horrific way to die.
I was a volunteer fireman on Long Island for about 10 years and I hated going to car accidents. It was the worst. Sometimes it would take 30-45 minutes to extract a body(s) or have someone pass right there when you are trying to extract them.
3:46 This moment just struck me - after seeing the lifeless person's hand flopping about, how the grizzled fireman threw down (from the debris) a floor mat, then a jacket, to cover-up the spilled blood. Not the first time he has done that. And I realized, after a deadly accident like this, we are reduced to being merely part of the debris to be cleaned-up, so the world (and traffic) can carry on. Very sad for this person's life. I hope their immediate family does not come across this posted video.
Its amazing that we get into these huge metal containers every day and the thought that it could literally kill us if it ever flipped or got crushed is terrifying
I have so much respect and appreciation for the rescue personel who have to come face to face with fatalities of all descriptions. I truly don't know how they are able to blot out the images they encounter. A dozen years ago I drove by the scene of a car wreck. A firefighter happened to lift a tarp exposing a deceased young woman lying on the side of the road. I wish I hadn't seen her still body as I truly remember it yet so clearly. She had been alive and likely thinking about her day ahead, then she was dead. Likely just a deadly lane change on a sunny day- no weather- issue, before cell phone distractions. just terrible timing.
My daughter was killed in a head on collision five years ago at 26 years of age. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. I've seen pictures of her car from the accident report. It was covered with a tarp as she was still inside. Though I didn't see what she must have looked like under that tarp, I visualize it every day. The horror never goes away.

It doesn't make you care for that person any less but for your own sanity, you have to crack a joke when in those dark times. NEVER would we do it at a sensitive time like in front of family. Unfortunately they are usually the result of one of a few things A) An aggressive driver. I.e. going faster than every one else, frequent lane changes, trying to cross a lane at the last second, trying to prevent someone from crossing into your lane, etc. etc. B) distracted driving. Not paying attention, on cell phone, fidgeting with radio, not properly checking while changing lanes Very rarely does an accident happen from non-preventable situations. Stay alert, be aware, drive with the flow of traffic, only change lanes when you have to, and most of all be courteous to your other commuters B)

They both died, but the kid was alive for a short time when I stopped. 5 others tried to help out as the wreck was smoking. I'll never forget what I saw...
As a former fire officer, I would never had allowed a car with a deceased victim inside to be dropped onto its wheels like that. With today's stabilization equipment, the car could have been pulled up onto its side, stabilized, and the victim removed before dropping it onto its wheels. Family members seeing this will be upset. They may claim that their loved one died when the rescuers dropped it. I can't even imagine what these Los Angeles firefighters go through with so many fatal accidents there. I've been to more than my share, but its crazy dangerous out there!
The most tragic thing about this is that it was almost certainly not caused by mechanical failure or freak weather, it was caused by someone driving badly - not paying attention, not looking to see if it was safe to change lane, not keeping enough distance from the vehicle in front of them, looking at their fantastic touchscreen to see if they were at the right offramp, something like that. And it's possible that they survived but killed somebody else.

Very sad for victims always is.
i just recently joined the fire department as well...its not easy but you have to remember you cant save them all. its so hard but you do everything you can and sometimes its not enough. but youll be helping thousands of others it really is a rewarding job i say you go for it
could be worse, ive seen videos of people getting their limbs and head sawn off slowly
(Nobody was strapped in a car seat or seat belt.)
Now my brother and I used to look at the Rotten website to look at real life gore but when you are watching your boss picking up deceased children to be hauled away by the coroner, it hits different and he decided that being a volunteer fireman wasn't for him after all.

I have so much respect and appreciation for the rescue personel who have to come face to face with fatalities of all descriptions. Likely just a deadly lane change on a sunny day- no weather- issue, before cell phone distractions. just terrible timing.

The most heart wrenching video to date…. My most sincere condolences and his mother is also in the comments… just wow. The lifeless arm did it for me…
So much dignity and respect exhibited by those guys. No laughing and carrying on like my local police department did around my fathers scene of death.
So sorry you lost your Dad AND had to endure that. Big hugs from PA❤
Not condoning the officers carrying on but I know as a firefighter, we've had to try to smile through some horrific stuff or it will get to you. It doesn't make you care for that person any less but for your own sanity, you have to crack a joke when in those dark times. NEVER would we do it at a sensitive time like in front of family. It was an out of body experience when I heard my Assistant Chief laugh while telling a story of a woman thrown from her car. It was one of those laughs but that is on the verge of breaking down. It's difficult to explain or truly understand.
@@killerkino12021does it ever really get better? Seeing horrific accidents, etc. I imagine you get de-sensitized fairly quickly if these occurrences are common!
I admire how they tried so hard to get to the person even though it was a lost cause, and after they tried everything to extricate him they still treated the situation with respect and worked hard to get the body out.
My dad was a policeman who had worked his way up the ranks to Detective Chief Inspector in the CID (U.K.) in his 31 years in the force from 1951 to 1982
He told me some of the incidents he’d gone to :
One was where a female passenger’s right eye had popped out and rolled on to her left cheek, when she was thrown forward in a car crash, which sounded pretty gruesome until he mentioned that he once had to find and pick up all the fingers that had been severed off some teenager’s hands - they had been hanging their hands and arms out of the windows when the car they were in lost control at a roundabout and overturned.
Oh my God.
I live her in Los Angeles, and spend about an hour commuting each way everyday. In the last 5 years I have seen around 6 serious accidents happen right in front me. Unfortunately they are usually the result of one of a few things
A) An aggressive driver. I.e. going faster than every one else, frequent lane changes, trying to cross a lane at the last second, trying to prevent someone from crossing into your lane, etc. etc.
B) distracted driving. Not paying attention, on cell phone, fidgeting with radio, not properly checking while changing lanes
Very rarely does an accident happen from non-preventable situations. Stay alert, be aware, drive with the flow of traffic, only change lanes when you have to, and most of all be courteous to your other commuters
B)
death appointments will all be kept and nobody will ever be late
But you can delay the appt by not being reckless in life.
As Emily Dickinson wrote, ""Because I could not stop for Death, he kindly stopped for me. The Carriage held but just Ourselves, and Immortality."
@@GunHillTrain makes no sense
God bless that man’s family and friends.
God bless those first responders. I cannot imagine the horrific images that live in their souls.
If you all would slow it down a bit...... You'd see less of this. 🤷♂️
Sometimes it’s out of peoples control,He could have slipped on something and turned his car or a car malfunction,Either way,Bad or unfortunate,It’s sad to see this!
@@Jza-GZa40k - My guess (from watching bad driver video's) is he was hit/clipped which caused his car to roll, or even an over correction.
There were several cars involved. We don't know if the guy above caused it all. All it takes is one car to tap another at highway speeds and it can be over pretty quickly.
@@KayInMaine his mum is in the comments. He didn't cause it, he got sideswiped, lost control and flipped, it was at this point the Chevy smashed into him and the poor man died in impact. It was just an horrific accident...
@@Him.Me.Q.and.P accident or not the guy in the truck should've been stopped long before seeing the wreck or at least should have swerved off to the side but NOPE like most pickup truck drivers he thinks he can just plow through the shit like it's trash
Much respect to you firefighters. All of you first responders. You all have to see some terrible and sad things.
Man after seeing your Channel I don't even want to drive in California, those people drive like a bat out of hell 🤣
people in all states drive crazy...how about driving correctly and trusting in the Lord God, Jesus Christ?! that may be something to contemplate
NY is even woese
California drivers are VERY bad. I can attest to this.
@@arttheclown9458 its crazy lol. I'm from Oklahoma, its like slow mo around here.
@@repentANDobey Oh I'm sure that's right, I'm just from a State where people drive pretty slow. And you're 100% correct about people needing to drive correctly and trusting the Lord.. People nodays drive like thier invincible, its crazy.
Always drive cautiously to prevent tragic accidents like this.
All it takes is a split second. Think of all the split seconds that pass as you drive every day. Any one of them could be your last. Please, drive defensively and keep your eyes on the road. 🙏🏼💔
When first responders aren't in a hurry, you know it's bad. RIP. Be careful out there❤
Oh wow… This is next to my old neighborhood in Diamond Bar. Funny how after 60 years, the area has changed so much but the freeway still looks exactly the same!! And I’ve seen more than my share of this kind of road fatality. They need to show more of this graphic, uncensored film footage to the public, not hide it from them. Drivers today need to see that there are REAL consequences to high speed aggressive bad driving.
As horrific and sad as it is.those people Ned to stop mock ups and show the real deal. Showing mocks isn’t going to scare and solve the problem
It must be hard for the families if and when they find these videos of their loved ones. Even if we don't know the persons's name they are so loved and missed by those that do. I am glad that there are people out there, angels on earth, that are willing to do this.
They're all amazing firefighters but 1:17 this one is Best. 😁
I see what you did there.
@@jennyjo798 😁
These are firemen and it’s what the job consists of mostly.
Pretty tough to deal with these situations.
I think it helpful that these folks live together at the station and can support each other
I dont think they find it shocking anymore when they see a dead body
The tow truck driver was saying a prayer 🙏
Jesus that is a tough watch, and should be show in full in schools.
This damage is highly unlikely for a person obeying the speed limits, condolences to the loved ones. Very sad.
The deceased man wasn't speeding, his mum is in the comments section here, she said somebody side swiped him which flipped him, then another car drove into his car and crushed it...
Less likely- not always highly unlikely. When it's your turn, god takes you. I have seen it. We hiked up half domw on a sunny day. I insisted on us wearing harnesses. The next day, in 2019 Daniel did the same and god took her. Sunny day, same trail. She had a harness but was not clicked in to the cable and rain fell---on a sunny day. Gone. She was young and in great shape. Many times death is a random occurance. You can play it safe and still die. I have ridden motorcycles 20 years, jumped off cliffs on skis, etc. God protected me. When it's your turn, it's your turn.
I don't know how these guys and gals do it! Hats off to these brave individuals
This is more than heartbreaking😢💔🙏🏻
@Brittany Greenwood pardon?
I have seen 5 fatal accidents in my 52 years. I am not a responder. The one I will never forget is a mother and son(I assume about 14ish). They hit a rock wall head-on, instead of turning left at the light. His poor hip was about 180 degrees from where it should have been. They both died, but the kid was alive for a short time when I stopped. 5 others tried to help out as the wreck was smoking. I'll never forget what I saw...
Oh my God.
Terrible. I bet you drive more safely. Time to update your 1980's rocker style thumbnail. Just saying.
crystal clear video!! awesome thx!!
I could never do this work. Thank you to all first responders.
RIP💔
Just so very tragic. R.I.P. for the victim.
God bless our First Responders 🙏
As a former fire officer, I would never had allowed a car with a deceased victim inside to be dropped onto its wheels like that. With today's stabilization equipment, the car could have been pulled up onto its side, stabilized, and the victim removed before dropping it onto its wheels. Family members seeing this will be upset. They may claim that their loved one died when the rescuers dropped it.
I can't even imagine what these Los Angeles firefighters go through with so many fatal accidents there. I've been to more than my share, but its crazy dangerous out there!
It's tiring for all fd to respond to multiple scenes just like this, per day. Slow down people. It's seriously not worth your life
And put the phones away
The most tragic thing about this is that it was almost certainly not caused by mechanical failure or freak weather, it was caused by someone driving badly - not paying attention, not looking to see if it was safe to change lane, not keeping enough distance from the vehicle in front of them, looking at their fantastic touchscreen to see if they were at the right offramp, something like that. And it's possible that they survived but killed somebody else.
How sad, one of my fellow VW drivers was killed in a GTI. Wonder how that happened?
I was thinking the same thing 😢 makes me scared to drive my mk3
This is sad, but a good video to show young drivers. The best video to show them are ones where t u e complete bodies are shown from start to finish. The games they play dearh isn't real. These videos need to be very real. To emphasize, in life no dress rehearsal, no do overs like in games. You speed, you drink, you have road rage , you race..... this is what happens to your body and not coming back. My prayers and support to rescue, fire, law officials. Yall have the hardest, mostly thankless jobs. Especially police, where criminals are in the right and u r wrong. God help us
