The reason why both Tae & Jessica's voice blends very well is because they balance each other's voice. Taeyeon with Tiffany's, who have both powerful voice, it's like they're clashing. Same goes with Seohyun. Just imagine TTS unit with all those powerful voice in one. Although TTS voice will give you a powerful performance, you can't help but think that they are like competing with one another with all those powerful belts. While TaengSic's voice & Harmonization, it's just different. Jessica's voice is like a creamer that balance & smoothens Taeyeon's strong & powerful voice.

I just realized that SM didn't push through with the Taengsic sub-unit because since they're the main voices in choruses, background vocals, and adlibs of SNSD, a Taengsic song would sound just like another SNSD song. OMG.
Taeyeon and Jessica's vocals suit each other so well bc they layer each other. Jessica has a naturally higher pitched voice, in comparison Taeyeon's is naturally lower. When they sing together it layers beautifully, you can hear them both and one voice isn't fighting to be heard over the other the way it does when Taeyeon sings with Tiffany or Seohyun (no hate to them obvi) these two also have the most vocal range in the group and that adds to it. When they sing you can tell its two people together, and it makes it feel like they belong together. Just listening to the last song in this video (into the new world) no one in SNSD can sing along with Taeyeon like that. Its honestly a tragedy in kpop that we'll never hear these 2 iconic voices together again.

Im not saying they are a bad group, but i feel like Seulgi and Wendy are too clashing for my liking. All the members sound good individually but whenever they sing in a chorus they sound kind of messy compared to SNSD or Kara. Honestly, even before Jessica left, the moment Tiffany started taking over Jessica, the quality was not as good imo. TaengSic matched perfectly, Seohyun is like a mix between Taeyeon and Jessica, a bit husky but very sophisticated. Sunny had a siren like tone, knew her the extent of her capabilities and had control over them. Yoona, Sooyoung, Yuri and Hyoyeon had what i would call "innoffensive" voices. They often made some flaws, but because their tone was pleasant and they had like 6 words per song, it wasn't enough to ruin the song. Hyoyeon even sounded good sometimes lmao. Now, Tiffany to me sounded the best in Genie because it was in her range and highlighted her unique tone. Tiffany should've never went above mid-range imo. I discovered snsd before i was even a teen so you would think i was blinded by nostalgia, but now that im older i actually appreciate their vocals so much more. I remember snsd seen as just a cutesy group back then (i could be wrong about this), and looking back on it, they definetly deserved much more credit for their vocals skills. Putting a group together is a lot more complex than people think (if they think that at all). Matching height, concept, face... but voices is the most important. Back then all members singing the chorus was a lot more common than it is know. Kara, SNSD and f(x) were groups were the lineups were perfect in my opinion. Even if some members weren't the strongest vocalist, their tones complimented the other vocalists and knew how to utilize their voices to the best of their capabilities whether that was by supporting the more capable members or given songs and parts that didn't expose too much of their flaws and even made them sound better than they did (they didn't always do this, but it was more common). The current trend of letting everyone get an equal part when they are not equal in capabilities just ruins so many songs that could've been better. But their lack of vocal training is somehow even more apparent to me when they sing in chorus. They sound like they are in a competiton of who can sing the loudest. If Sistar debuted today Hyolyn and Dasom would've had the same amount of lines. Groups like Le Sseraphim should (with actual vocal training) have Yunjin and Chaewon sing 90% of the song and the remaining 10% by Sakura, Eunchae and Kazuha.

The duo we never had. They could have been the greatest girl duo if only SM let it happen. And also, why do I feel like every video of taengsic proves that "ALMOST" is the song of their story.
Taeng has a smooth and powerful voice while Sica's is smooth, light and sweet voice yet the colour of their voices blend so well that it sounds like 1 person singing, that's why it sounds similar while at the same time it's not! It's the colour of their singing tones that really makes a difference, because there are a lot of good, powerful vocals out there but only these two tones blend together so well. It works like this for every vocal, just that it's hard to find a good match much less an almost perfect complement, but Taeyeon and Jessica found it in each other's singing voice! And that's why nothing will beat this, until someone else finds their perfect complementary singer, which has yet to happen although there are already many good or very good duets :-)
its already 2020 kpop has evolved and diversed Japanse, Taiwanese, Chinese, Thai people are in training system now there were already Survival Shows and Open Castings but TaengSic is still the Hermes of KPop Harmony
If there's one thing I really miss the most about ot9, it's Taengsic harmonization. No one could ever truly replace jessica's part. Sure, the other members can, but it's still different when we're talking about taengsic tho.

Damn…..their voices complement each other so perfectly. Jessica’s voice is so angelic and whispery but it cuts through Taeyeon’s much more powerful vocals. It’s not overshadowing but it finds a perfect time and place in Taeyeon’s vocals to cut through crisply. It’s hard to describe and I’m not even remotely musical at all. The best way I can describe it is that it sounds like two voices YET one.

All the members sound good individually but whenever they sing in a chorus they sound kind of messy compared to SNSD or Kara. Honestly, even before Jessica left, the moment Tiffany started taking over Jessica, the quality was not as good imo. TaengSic matched perfectly, Seohyun is like a mix between Taeyeon and Jessica, a bit husky but very sophisticated. Sunny had a siren like tone, knew her the extent of her capabilities and had control over them. Yoona, Sooyoung, Yuri and Hyoyeon had what i would call "innoffensive" voices. They often made some flaws, but because their tone was pleasant and they had like 6 words per song, it wasn't enough to ruin the song. Hyoyeon even sounded good sometimes lmao. Now, Tiffany to me sounded the best in Genie because it was in her range and highlighted her unique tone. Tiffany should've never went above mid-range imo.
I discovered snsd before i was even a teen so you would think i was blinded by nostalgia, but now that im older i actually appreciate their vocals so much more. I remember snsd seen as just a cutesy group back then (i could be wrong about this), and looking back on it, they definetly deserved much more credit for their vocals skills.
Putting a group together is a lot more complex than people think (if they think that at all). Matching height, concept, face... but voices is the most important.
Back then all members singing the chorus was a lot more common than it is know. Kara, SNSD and f(x) were groups were the lineups were perfect in my opinion. Even if some members weren't the strongest vocalist, their tones complimented the other vocalists and knew how to utilize their voices to the best of their capabilities whether that was by supporting the more capable members or given songs and parts that didn't expose too much of their flaws and even made them sound better than they did (they didn't always do this, but it was more common). The current trend of letting everyone get an equal part when they are not equal in capabilities just ruins so many songs that could've been better. But their lack of vocal training is somehow even more apparent to me when they sing in chorus. They sound like they are in a competiton of who can sing the loudest. If Sistar debuted today Hyolyn and Dasom would've had the same amount of lines. Groups like Le Sseraphim should (with actual vocal training) have Yunjin and Chaewon sing 90% of the song and the remaining 10% by Sakura, Eunchae and Kazuha.
Yeah, Tiffany stepped up, but her voice didn’t blend the same way with Taeyeon's. Seohyun and Sunny tried to fill the gap, but the group's harmonies lost that delicate balance.

I honestly don't hear such beautiful harmonization in any other girl groups except this 2. Jessica and Taeyeon was golden, a secret weapon because of their beautiful, controlled voices. The duo we never had. They could have been the greatest girl duo if only SM let it happen. And also, why do I feel like every video of taengsic proves that "ALMOST" is the song of their story.
Taeng has a smooth and powerful voice while Sica's is smooth, light and sweet voice yet the colour of their voices blend so well that it sounds like 1 person singing, that's why it sounds similar while at the same time it's not! It's the colour of their singing tones that really makes a difference, because there are a lot of good, powerful vocals out there but only these two tones blend together so well. It works like this for every vocal, just that it's hard to find a good match much less an almost perfect complement, but Taeyeon and Jessica found it in each other's singing voice! And that's why nothing will beat this, until someone else finds their perfect complementary singer, which has yet to happen although there are already many good or very good duets :-)

Damn…..their voices complement each other so perfectly. Jessica’s voice is so angelic and whispery but it cuts through Taeyeon’s much more powerful vocals. It’s not overshadowing but it finds a perfect time and place in Taeyeon’s vocals to cut through crisply. It’s hard to describe and I’m not even remotely musical at all. The best way I can describe it is that it sounds like two voices YET one.
