Through the years, I've come across countless concerto's and their diminutive 'concertino' counterparts, yet this is the first time i see this augmentative 'concertone' variant. Perhaps large-scale concerti such as Rachmaninov's third or Busoni's would have benefited from this title as well😁😁
This is exceptionally bad writing for mozart (even considering his age). He has much more musically mature pieces even before this one. Its really interesting actually to behold
Hmm, yeah. I probably wouldn't have guessed this was Mozart if I hadn't known. It's nice enough to listen to, but it sounds more like some random (deservedly) forgotten contemporary.
@@Iocun I agree it almost doesn't sound like mozart. I am a big fan of early mozart, just listen to the concertone in C k. 99 he wrote a bit earlier than this for example, there you can already recognize his personal style. In this piece (especially in the first movement) there is something really off about the proportions of the themes, repetitiveness, extremely basic harmony and overall really un "song like" melodies, which are all very un mozartian characteristics. Overall a very "nah" piece compared to the wonders of early mozart.

Loving the little viola moments, especially in the first movement.
Wonderful

I really don't think he gave a shit. He probably wrote this then immediately got wasted and beat his stupid wife

Cassation in B k. 99 of cours, this concertone is taking control of my mind 😉
bad writing I don't know, but it lacks his brilliant touch too often.
