The "CVLT" project was created by these 2 brilliant artists and Dario Argento (filmmaker who dedicated almost all of his production to horror and thriller cinema) and this is why it has these very bloody vibes.
The entire "Anthem" song is based on the works that these two artists have done over twenty years but here they paid themselves a self-tribute by exchanging beats. If you pay attention, every verse change corresponds to a beat change.

Salmo and Noyz are two legends in the Italian scene, especially Salmo, even tho he is from an island poorly connected to the rest of Italy, he dominated the 2010's, he was the most influential figure of the scene, also thanks to the collective he founded, "Machete". He is def the italian king of flow. He struggled from mental issues since covid, most of his bars that werent fictional talked about that.
Noyz is an outstanding rapper from the capital city, he is also defined the 8th king of Rome (Rome historically had 7 kings, so is like an onorific title), he is a legend in his city.
Both Noyz and Salmo love the splatter and profane imaginary and they both are cult movie nerds, and this album is about theese two things toghether.
The production is mostly from Salmo, his production influeces and his background are a mix of Metal, Rock n Roll, Dubstep and all kinds of rap.
Most of the bars are fictional btw, they arent associated with any criminal gang.

I really appreciate that you wanted to listen to this album, but I have to say it's not an album for Italian Rap beginners because of its thousands of references to movies culture and Italian figures, also not really easy to understand their meanings.

I haven't got anything against you personally but you americans are used to read two lines of lyrics at a time. You have to listen the all song to understand some rhymes, Salmo and Noyz are 2 of the best rappers in writing all time in italy, their songs are a complete storytelling. I'll try to explain something about Noyz and this album.
Noyz is part of the Truce Klan, an Italian group (not only a music group) based in rome. Some years ago some members of the truce Klan were involved in some crimes and every TV news channel and newspaper associate the name of Noyz to those crimes. The also try to explain that those crimes were caused by the music Noyz was making (rap music). Noyz and others memebers of the truce klan were "indagati" (sry i don t remember the english word bout that) but police cannot relate the musicians to the crimes. Others member were sent to jail. From that episode Noyz relased GUILTY album, one of his best works.
Cvlt is an album made with the collaboration of Dario Argento, one of the most known italian film directors (he is known for horror movies, the exorchist for exapmple), so they decide to give to this album an horror imprinting, is for this reason some part are splattery and we have cruel scenes.

And one more things..croci e cristi.. no noyz was not talkin about music. The line : i got blood inside this sword, the word sword in italian also is used to say syringe, so he is Talking about eroine in this part. All the track is about drugs and attictions for that reason is called cross ad Christs. Christ plural is also used in italian to describe something that is a problem for us. "I got a lot of cristi in my mind"
