Great to see grape vines all over the place around Split Jared! That is the origin of the NZ wine industry right there. The original "Dalmatian" migrants - the gumdiggers - came from the area around Split and brought their love of wine with them. I wonder if there is any memory of that migration in Split? Our wines used to be submitted to wine judging in Ljubljana.

I realise Balkan people like to argue with their neighbours about everything, but is it really worth dragging a New Zealander into the debate?!
