For those of you that wants to do this mod, the wires to connect together are green to blue. Doing what the video says will prevent the system from increasing the fans speed in case it's getting to hot and you will risk frying you CPUs.

Sorry guys, i know this is an old post, but, for this video, it only has to be done for fans 1 and 3? or for all fans? And one other thing, is there any additional configuration to be done in the server? because i've tried in my proliant DL360 G5, and it throws me the following error:
POST Error: Fan Solution Not Sufficient.
If anyone could please give me a hand, it will be mostly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

With this mod I went from 50db to 34db, pretty impressive! The CPU are now running at 61C instead of 56C at idle. The noise went from "not tolerable" to "almost regular computer noise".

Eric Hubert works perfect, not as quiet as I want but I'll get some sound mats to help.

Eric Hubert and instead of using electrical tape,i gutted the fans I removed and put the housings back so the air still properly flows through
