And 2, he was able to keep Dogtown a free district despite boyh NC and president Meyers, along with any other mercs, assassins, or bitter BARGHEST members that tried to usurp or him.

@BigPerc17 Yes, and what Cyberware did he have? A sandy that he already couldn't fully handle. At the point shortly before taking the Cyberskeleton he was too far gone already, and some military/maxtech vets have more Cyberware than him. I once read that David is special from a streetkid standpoint. Not from a overall powerhouse standpoint. He made himself a Legend by his actions, not necessarily because of his raw power. 17:00 this is a very definitive statement without a lot to back it up, the game deliberately leaves the nature of the Alt AI up for interpretation so the only thing that's confirmed is that the AI we meet is definitely incorporating the original Alt engram in some way. Alt does say that she's no longer the person she was but we very clearly see that whatever she is she still cares about johnny in some way, and she claims that she's no longer human yet she constantly shows little signs of humanity (like how she's speechless if a well behaved johnny apologises to her before attacking arasaka tower with rogue), so to me it's pretty clear that she's not being honest about her nature. my guess as to why is that she didn't want johnny getting attached to her, she blamed him for her death and knew he was likely to cause a lot of trouble if he got it in his head to help her with anything, so she put on a show of not being "alt" to keep johnny at arm's length. she also constantly hides things from us like how she didn't mention her plan to massacre every person on the tower's subnet, and imo she likely knew from the start that v might be too far gone by the time they reached mikoshi, so taking what she says at face value probably wasn't intended
Songbird was dying from blackwall gateway overload on her body and implants, not to mention her mind being demolished accordin to in game shards with psychiatric evaluation of Song from NUSA/FIA medical experts Alt was an engram that couldn't even breach the blackwall without NetWatch and Arasaka blasting her cyberbutt with ICE protocols and required V to physically plug her. Also, any safe BBS link to communicate with Alt fried every single netrunning gear involved, including V's body Cerberus was trapped by vintage tech in cynosure and kept tallking shit out of spite since it is completely trapped and harmless in the physical world. Even when plugged into Erebus or CantoMk6, it is completely powerless and can only be used as a tool by a human and that murderbot it managed to control was just a lucky find in the sense that humans, again, built that invulnerable maintenance robot to withstand environmental hazard. It had no guns, no netrunning capabilities, no sandevistan, just drills, claws and reinforced armor
Well, ALT is not alive and not in the physical world, in her world she's a goddess. Still though, one day net could collapse again as it's not a thing not seen in cyberpunk universe but V is on another level. You can make him have 20 int, which in tabletop max is 8 and then you add cyberware on top of that. I am not saying V is 20 straight up, that would make him a god amongst men, but the point is V can get 3 8's and have another very decent skill if he dumps one. That alone makes him a force to be reckoned with. In game for gameplay reasons probably stats are merged, reflexes are mixed with; dexterity and movement; tech is mixed a bit with empathy (cyberware capacity). Also some stats are unknown, which are luck who we know V has not much of, will which we know V's is impressively high, and some parts of empathy which we can determine as the player. The thing is V is wired completely differently, he doesn't need empathy to support cyberware because Johhny is already a cyberpscyho, he also is extremely resistant to any attack targeting his brain (especially against daemons) as shown by multiple times he's supposed to die but is revived by the relic. There's not a single character in universe that can do many things he has done, at the top of the list being singlehandedly bringing down Arasaka HQ and the Smasher. Even Smasher can't do that, forget about Smasher even Militech as a whole can't do that. Alt also can't, neither can Songbird. What V experiences beyond the blackwall aren't same as Alt or Songbird, they're born into that environment and have been selected by it. Alt herself is now an everdeveloping rogue AI and Songbird has spent all her life trying to adapt. Think of blackwall as a cage and within it are lions constantly fighting one another, Alt is another lion, Songbird is a tamer and V is just an ordinary person. Of course Alt doesn't have problems with it and Songbird has lasted longer than most (although she lost her grip too), if V also was accustomed to the environment (if he's int 20 too) then he would also be in a similar situation of Song Mi as demonstrated by endings which allow us to use daemons from beyond the blackwall just like Song Mi. However, neither Alt nor Song could do most of what V could do.
V didn’t die by being soul killed. In fact the commercial soul killer only stop your brain wave so it effectively « kills you » but doesn’t straight up fry the brain. So when v connected to mikoshi they died but regain consciousness after that with the engram reshaping v’s neurons. But it’s still the same V not the engram
At the start of the video you said both 2077 and edgerunners toke place in, well 2077, but edgerunner acually took place 2 years before the game, in 2075, with the end of the show taking place in 2076. pretty useless info but its important. Also in edgerunners the sandy was still a proto-type, not in mass devolpment, thats why david got mad when he called it a rudimentary implant (he got mad cuz he still thought he was special)
Good take, although I think it’s heavily implied that Johnnys memories are not to be trusted. Johnny is a narcissist and wants to be centre of the story when he really wasn’t. During the raid on Arasaka some of Johnnys memories would have you believe he was responsible for the bombing even though it’s made clear that Johnny was on the distraction team.
Johnny is an "unreliable narrator". Not only is he an egotistical maniac, his brain has been well and truly scrambled by Soulkiller, and on top of that, his engram was compromised during the heist. The Johnny we meet is a brain-fried imitation of the original Johnny Silverhand, and is as much corrupted by V as V is corrupted by Johnny.

I know its not the topic of the video (great video overall btw) but cyberpunk is not the result of capitalism. its the result of a mix of government and capitalism. in pure unregulated capitalism (ancap) monopolies as we they exist in cyberpunk or even today could not exist. they can only exist because the government places arbitrary restrictions in place which make it harder for competition to survive or start to exist in the first place. big companies specifically lobby the government for more regulation specifically for that goal. they are already big, they can easily stomache the damage whatever regulation would impose. but small or upcoming competitors? they will eventually crumble or wont even bother becoming competitors in the first place. so even if the creator of cyberpunk would say that its a satire of capitalism... he'd be wrong. it would at best be a satire of our current state interventionist capitalist systems.
