That’s great, cos I ordered the pioneer that you used. One more question, is the usb necessary?
That’s up to you. The Pioneer does have a USB extension included which you can trail behind so it comes out in the passenger footwell and you can then use that instead of the built in USB. The separate USB adapter which I’ve got an installation video for is awkward to install so if you’re happy with having a trailing usb cable I’d probably avoid the extra kit and just do that!
Really want to do this, but afraid to damage the dash, especially the part that will keep being there. Saw you made some marks as well.
Yeah, I did make a small mark but that was it…you could probably cover parts of the dashboard to be extra cautious

@@Blamm83I'd be careful about using duct tape on the textured dashboard area...decorators masking tape would probably be better as it leaves no residue
I’m going to get this set up for my Picanto. Just a quick question. Does DAB radio work or is a new aerial required?
My picanto didn’t have DAB but I think if you get the right adapter it should work
Hi, done everything same as you, all works fine! Just new Fascia won't go properly in (steering wheel side) any suggestions please what can I do or what can I remove to fit it in properly. Cheers
Did you take the old clips off the old fascia? (The white ones?)

Hey, it doesn’t come with one but plenty of after market stereos do, so the Pioneer one I show in this video came with the microphone that I also show. Which stereo have you picked up?
Hello! I have another kind of screen, a typical android tablet and not a Double DIN. Everything works perfectly, except that I have the steering wheels controls not plugged in, and the wire for it is the little power plug of the car on a side, and the other side is a 13 pin iso, I don’t know what to do now, it works perfectly but I have no steering wheel controls anymore (I have a 2014 Kia Picanto, thank you :))
I’m not 100% sure what to suggest as I’m not an expert but a good starting point would be to check if your new stereo supports steering wheel controls and if so see if Connects2 do an adapter for your stereo

hi can you purchase the adapting cables on there own because the kit is no longer available on amazon. and i don’t know the name of the cables. but i have found a separate similar fascia kit without the cables.

Great video, would the fascia and connects2 be compatible with the Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB?
I use the DA130DAB so I would imagine the 160 would also work

At the time the 130 was cheaper and whilst it doesn’t have Android auto I didn’t need it as an Apple user
@@MarksTechVlogsmakes sense :-) did you investigate whether the built in usb port could be used with aa/CarPlay on your model (with the correct adapter of course)? Mines a 2013 but I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring it all out.
@@prebenjaeger I did...I got this kit ebay.us/ygsaJH and this means my built in USB C was effectively replaced and now works with CarPlay. I created an install video for that kit th-cam.com/video/QAGXc5TXBE0/w-d-xo.html - It was a pain to install!
@@MarksTechVlogs Ha, somehow I completely forgot I watched the video. I think I'll just follow in your footsteps, but I might go with a Sony head unit. Hope it'll work! The Connects2 frame is a bit expensive (at least in my country (LHD), I havent found any kits that contains everything, like the ones you've linked), but I've seen some other ones on eBay that are a bit cheaper. As for the wiring components, Connects2 seems to be a good go-to product.

You can also get fascia kits that adapt it for single din stereos but as long as the size fits the gap of the adapter then any double din will be fine. It is probably worth paying a bit more for the Pioneer or Sony stereos though as the cheaper Android based units to tend to be slow and unreliable

I did it down the back and out the passenger footwell
What happens if you plug cables in in the wrong order?
Nothing major…the steering controls just don’t work and you need to unplug them and plug them back in in the right order
@@MarksTechVlogs I see; thanks for the quick reply. If I were to supply all the parts you recommend, would you fit them (labour fee included, of course)? I'm in Essex but happy to travel. Also have an underseat subwoofer.
@@cooltroop2 As I'm not a trained mechanic and don't have the appropriate insurance to fit something in someone else's vehicle I'd recommend you probably use a professional. I've actually used facebook.com/profile.php?id=61551927022171 before and know Adam has a lot of experience with car audio so would recommend him

Hi mark, I got the same mounting kit but the screws either side don’t seem to hold the stereo in? Any ideas. I’ve got a Kenwood double din but I’m sure they’re all the same size 🤷🏼♂️
@@PaulStubbs-u4j do you mean the screws aren’t long enough or just go through the edges?
@@MarksTechVlogs the screw holes seem “too wide” and don’t hold the stereo in place at both sides
