    Oh man - BIG thank you for putting the McGill Big 3 on my radar! I just did a circuit of them for the first time and my back feels like I just got out of a 1hr massage appointment 🤤
    Funny that I've been focusing on isos for my knees so much and never considered that I should also be putting in iso time for my back! Thanks man!

      Gave some good cues but to be honest once I got to the heavy weights I just defaulted back to my regular technique. I think I would have to rep out some lighter weights a lot to dial some of the stuff in.

    How do you train with power cleans if you are a beginner? how much weight should you start with, before building up to heavier weight, like 200* lbs?

  • @Chimonya
    @Chimonya 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If you catch lower you can prolly do a lot more weight on power clean. Though it would take more work with front squats. Honestly with your vertical, don't change a thing. Your squat was reasonable, even as a deep / below parallel squat (which is much better than stopping parallel using your knees like most other people). You have great flexibility and technique from what I see.

  • @martmuru
    @martmuru 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What is the main cue you use in power cleans? "Use legs as much as possible and jump?"

  • @Hufftwoseven
    @Hufftwoseven ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Curious to hear the reasoning as to how a powerclean can increase the vertical jump. The first half of the exercise is really a deadlift but with the follow through being upper body pull. I wonder if speed dl would yield the same result.

    • @thedude7737

      if youre doing cleans right its all about hip movement

    • @jacobpena306
      @jacobpena306 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Is just that basically it’s a weighted jump in context with triple extension, that’s about it. Just jump, you don’t need them if you don’t want to use them.

    • @philipjin4902
      @philipjin4902 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Question for everyone in the comments: I'm a very slight framed person working on building mass as I work on building vertical. While I'm doing squats for leg day my back gives before my legs give. I workout at home with just DBs and BBs if anyone has any suggestions let me know please

    • @da_illest
      @da_illest ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d throw in some more core work. If you already do a heavy amount of core work, maybe throw in some activation movements on that day.

    • @CrashinAsh
      @CrashinAsh ปีที่แล้ว

      @da_illest can you explain activation movements and I think I could probably do more core work, I do the mcgill big 3 along with just a 6 or 7 minute ab workout thing per workout. I also work at a job that requires me to work my core constantly, I build grocery pallets so there is alot of row movements and twisting and turning
