    Finally commonsense prevails! This was a complete football accident and the tribunal dealt with this case the only way it could. The whole media beat-up of this case was shameful. I’m positive if it hadn’t been a Collingwood player involved, we wouldn’t have heard a thing from them. TRUE JUSTICE TONIGHT!!

      Accident or not, a suspension should always occur for a head knock that results in player rendering unconscious. I truly hope the afl send it to the appeal board and his season is over!

    Hammer is wrong on this. He shouldn’t even be at the tribunal.

      You're not considering any class actions of the AFL if you think this doesn't even deserve to be seen by the tribunal.

    5 years too late to be going off like this both about player welfare and his brothers well being. If he really cared he could've decried willie rioli every time he spun in the air and flew into peoples heads ass first and claimed to be competing for the ball or he could've said liam ryans shot on maynards ribs in the gf was not on, could've even said something when gaf broke his brothers' jaw but it's okay because it's his team doing it.
    be quiet Hamish and don't talk about player welfare or integrity now that it's beneficial for you.

    Brayshaw waltzed out of the middle like he was taking a kick in and kicked the ball like no one was in front of him. If you leave yourself that vulnerable by kicking the ball late, what do you expect to happen? Even if he didn't hit him in the head or put his arms out or whatever irrational emotionally driven alternative is suggested, the fact remains Brayshaw lacked awareness. He should've been prepared for contact (he's a professional AFL player...) and the fact that he wasn't is contributary negligence to him being knocked out. All the sooking is embarrassing

    • @nickcraven9379
      @nickcraven9379 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You’re so right, Nick Blakey should have been aware that his head was gonna get hit by jack Martin, he lacked awareness. Andy Brayshaw should have been aware that he was gonna get king hit by Andrew gaff, his fault for not being aware. Brent staker should have been aware that Barry hall would punch him in the jaw, not Barry’s fault, Brent should have been more aware because he’s an afl player. How dare Angus Brayshaw win the contest and run out the centre and take his time to think about the best kick possible for a goal, he was just asking to get tackled, that’s all his fault. Good thing we have blokes like you, proper common sense. You should be in charge of the MRC.

    • @steve-3140
      @steve-3140 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Classic "blame the victim" mentality -- if you can make that argument about Brayshaw, you can make EXACTLY the same argument about Maynard -- he should have been aware that contact was going to happen and therefore should have avoided it -- find something else to talk about, you've got no clue obviously

    If you remove Collingwood and Melbourne fans from the debate. I think most agree that Maynard should be punished. The same way any other player is punished when leaving the grounds and hitting an opponent in the face side on. Even if unintentional

      No he said what an emotionally affected bias person would say. That’s why his public carry on the last few days has been ordinary and unprofessional. Should’ve removed himself from commenting publicly on the matter until an outcome was made. He’s well within his rights to be emotional about it but shouldn’t have used his platform to run his mouth.
