I decided to pray every hour (when I am awake), so I have a timer that goes off every hour and I stop what I am doing and pray. My work is very supportive and allows me to do this. I have been doing this for a year now. My life has changed dramatically but I can't stop now. Sometimes I am away from my timer and I just start praying. It has become an automatic thing. I journal too. And I do a couple of devotionals. My walk with the lord is not perfect and there are times of struggle. After all my walk with the lord started about 2 years ago. I don't only go to church but I have an intimate relationship with our Loving Father and everyday I grow in wisdom, faith and love.

Shalom!!I'm Anurag from India.i hve changed my name for privacy😃.I was a dogmatic hindu born in a staunch hindu family.I was always speaking against JESUS😓,i had always interest in him but because i was a hindu i was against him.As a teenager,i was addicted to Pornography,Lust nd depression😓.I was too poor in studies,that keep with scolding from my parents to teacher.I had always lust in my heart negative thoughts about girls nd so on😭.My mom nd dad remain sick with many diseases like Blood pressure,diabetes,thyroid,constipation nd so on😃.They h've had also broken relationship,which always led to domestic violence😓.My life was mess,how wretch i was😭 i cannot explain.When i look to GODS,i look for any pagan deity like Ganesha(Elephant GOD),Shiva etc.that were some sort of weird.I feared them greately😓.When i loo for Krishna,he has 16008 wives 72 children,but still i fear them.My life was completely lost in darkness😭.
The turn in my life came,when i had our financial crisis.I had lost all hope in Hindu GODS.I cried out to JESUS "JESUS(I didn't knew his name is "Yeshua",but as here we know as "Isha",so i called him "Isha masih")pls let us out of this situation"😭.Just after some days,my dad's finance went a breakthrough nd i was really happy😊.Now,Our L❤VE story began i started keep searching for him,at that time Christian missionaries came in our small town(But not now),i got a book about him,i had jst one prayer in english reciting "Hallelujah",i jst didn't knew how to pray but JESUS even heared my silent prayer from my heart❤.I didn't knew much english at that time.When i knew about him i was spellbound(Astonished),did GOD love❤me so much that he himself came fo die for my sin😊.JESUS was first for me like a pagan deity but when i read Gospels i was astonished on his attitude,there is no one influential in history like him nd he is much loving nd compassionate❤🙏.By his amazing grace❤,i submitted my weakness nd he let me out of porn completely.Even,now i saw every girl as my friend nd sister😊,my lust is 99% gone.Its been now 3 years i have not watched any bad things.He helped me to out of depression,he healed every diseases of my family member through my prayers😊 nd saved us from numerous calamities nd destruction.Our peace is restored nd everything.My academy has changed completely from looser,i hve become a topper.By his great mercies😊 LORD is now leading me in apologetics nd science.he's Giving me success in every research by providing me best books📚,because he is my shepherd i will not lack anything(Read Psalm 23),Hallelujah!!He has blessed me with a very best friend she is of mexico😊.He has also blessed my dad's job,health nd finance.
But still,my mom nd dad are unbelievers,forcing me to leave JESUS😓.I have not my own Bible but i have access through online.They say that if i follow JESUS,they will broken relationship with me.But despite of all now no turning back😊.Now,whatever happens JESUS is my mom nd dad nd i will never leave him.I feel sorry that many times i have denied him infront of my family that they won't yell.But still how great he is!!that he never denied me.Here is no Church in my province but JESUS is in my heart❤,i have probably never went to church.
May Be you all are facing difficult Situations but Don't be troubled "for Jesus has overcome the world"😊(Read John 16:33).your all health issues,Finance problems and every anxiety, worries Were finished when Jesus Said on the Cross that "It is finished"(Read John 19:30)😃.Jesus is looking for you as his child and has a plan for you as the book of Jeremiah says.
So never get attracted to any pagan religion.

Ever since I was eight I made sure to pray before bed. Not always on my knees or out loud but every time my head hits my pillow I can’t sleep until I’ve finished talking to God. Its automatic now after 38 years. I do need to get on my knees more often but I do love spending my final thoughts in the presence of my father. I love him so much. Even though we go back and forth from time to time as I seek wisdom and understanding I truly love him so much even when things aren’t going as I want them to go. Which is most the time but I am thankful for what is good in my life and the evil that is thwarted from my daily walk. I just wish Jesus and I could sit down by the fire and have a long face to face conversation. Someday, I believe he’ll show up one night. In the meantime he sends me shooting starts. Its so amazing! I’ll keep waiting for him because I know without a doubt that he lives and hears my every prayer. His Love is so amazing! I could spend an eternity in his presence and be completely satisfied. His love is that amazing! Im not being over dramatic. Once you feel his love you’ll understand. It had taken years before he manifested his Love like that but it is outstanding. Its worth every bit of time and energy given to seeking his glory upon you.

Your financial miracle is asking GOD for good money management skills. Don't use credit cards. If you can't pay for something, don't buy it. I have lived like that for the last 34 years. I have no debt and few money worries if any.

I absolutely love this man. I use to like Joel Osteen & hearing him but im sorry, just like kenneth Copeland all they care about is the $$$$ & private jets also they preach the same words. Pastor rick warren is the most down to earth person you can get . Ya hes got money but look at all what he is doing & has done for his brothers & sisters, all children of God giving us the truth that we need to hear. As a otr truck driver here in the states of 6.5 yrs. Things have been getting to me and I've felt lost but a pop up video on TH-cam by Rick warren was everything. I never knew who he was before but I've been listening to him in my truck 2 weeks solid. Thank you sir for what you do. I usually leave out Sundays which is the start of my work week but if you had a saddleback church in my city of Indianapolis I definitely would attend every service even though its a different pastor other then pastor Warren

God definitely hears your prayers and has a greater plan in-mind. We'd encourage you to keep praying and to keep your eyes and ears open. Remember, God doesn't always answer our prayers how we expect him to... he exceeds our expectations. Keep on asking, praying, seeking and knocking and the door will be opened. In Jesus' name!

His Word is where we find this Hope and Comfort in our time of need. I'm actually struggling in a certain area right now and it doesn't seem like He is hearing my prayer, BUT I know He has and IS working it out. For we walk by faith and not by sight. It may not LOOK like it but He is at work in the spiritual realm and the natural realm. I hope this makes sense.

I subscribed to the email lists however I have not gotten any of the daily devotionals the pastor talks about and am wondering what has happened, I have checked my junk folders and they are not there either. In fact last week a representative of Saddleback church contacted me via email as I had subscribed twice using two different emails and they wanted to know which email I used more. So I replied and am waiting patiently for my daily devotionals. What a good word in season this series is. May our GOD continue to bless this ministry with such good meat ... AMEN

I needed this sermon
I have prayed for a long time and wasted 6 years for breakthrough after my life was shattered by a husband that abandoned and betrayed me. Sometimes keeping on praying can break your spirit when you don’t get an answer. Hope deferred makes the heart sick. I really don’t understand a lot of this. The test doesn’t make sense to me. How long will God have to test us???
Truth walker he will continue to test you until you learn the lessons given throughout your test he always wants you to learn while going through a test so that you will be prepared and have enough built up character for what he is going to bless you with stay strong don’t stop ❤️
I hope you're in a much better place now. Remember that God's will is better than our will so we should always trust in God even when our prayers don't get answered the way we want. I've prayed for really big miracles that get answered (I fasted and prayed for 8 hours straight for the release of girls from the clutches of Boko Haram-it got answered as most of them are released but not immediate like I wanted). I also prayed for a lot less and it did not get the answer I wanted. Later on, I realized that my prayer did not get answered because it's for the good of a lot of people including myself.
When we pray, especially for a miracle, we should not have a doubt in our heart. If we have that, good. Second, we should not have an unforgiveness in our heart. If we do, we need to forgive those who have sinned against us. Last but not the least, we need to turn away from sin. For me as a Catholic, it means going to confession at least once a year. Everytime the priest says "I absolve you from your sins", I actually felt like I've been cleansed and I am a new creation. For me, him standing in place of Jesus like when he told the adulterer "go and sin no more".
I spent years praying for people who never got saved and died in grave sin. GOD allowed it so I would not blame myself for their bad choices. You will see the good of your prayers some day.

i guess my confusion still lies in that how do we know if it's a "no" from God" or "slow" and "not yet" when we pray for something that we want? i feel like i've never been able to understand that.

God pursues us all of our lives. Perhaps part of His reason for telling us to pray persistently is for us to experience part of His character of persistence?
Thank You Pastor Warren! My question is what if when you pray for something and your faith assures you that it is already answered so you wait in faith for the prayer to be answered? I asked this because of what you said about not praying persistently for something because we are not diligent or discouraged or worried or not having priorities in line.
Such a good question! You almost answered your own question. When we wait on the Lord, there is a difference between worrying and stressing over prayer and waiting and resting assured in faith, moving forward knowing that God is answering your prayer. In moving forward though, God still wants a continuous conversation with you daily and to hear your heart. When you're in a relationship with someone, you often talk about the same thing, any developments, and where you are at - God wants the same conversation with you!

Many pray aloud publicly and their prayer sounds like a little sermon disguised as a prayer, or they are informing the Most High as though that's needed. What many are failing to realize is that good prayer, like good communication in general, involves listening much more than running our mouths. Also, the purpose of prayer is not to persuade Father to do what He otherwise would not; it's the privilege of being allowed to participate in what the Spirit is already doing, and that's partially through us who are submitted to the Spirit, having put away every idol, including the idol of self. Every good prayer originates in the Spirit, Who lays the matter on our heart, so thanks to the Most High for the prayer AND for the answer that's already pending.
Be still, and know....that is prayerful listening.

Hi. I'm watching this series in 2020. Its applicable today as it was when the message was 1st preached. However I have a question: When pastor Rick talked about King Jehoshaphat's prayer in 2 Chronicles chapter 20 he said King Jehoshaphat did many things e.g. call a national fast, proclaim God's greatness etc God responded that King Jehoshaphat should have the choir match before the army singing & praising God & they had victory. Today's message is about persisting in prayer. Yet when he spoke about King Jehoshaphat he said he we should pray once & thereafter thank God continuously & consistently for the expected results(the check is in the mail as Pastor Rick illustrated) which is the correct format? pray persistently or pray once & thereafter praise & thank God for the expected answer to prayer? Thanks

Brother, I think GOD Knows when you need your breakthrough not necessarily in your time but in HIS. Not in your wisdom but that in that of your creator who knows best and WHO always loves you and looks out for you.

I would say that you change the prayers to asking GOD what you do now.
pastor warren in another sermon titled thank god in advance you said to ask god once for the area in your life you want breakthrough in and then thank god as you already have received it. I got confused to ask persistently or once????

I thought so too but I believe persistence is key. It’s stated clearly in the Bible. Just follow the Bible :)
Prayer for me is a mystery. I met someone that prayed for a long time for something. One day she decided not to pray anymore and a few months later something good happened. Lots of non-Christians don't even pray and they are blessed. If you need a car you pray for a car, for the money to buy a car or for a great job that will give you the money to buy a car? I've been praying for a wife for 35 years. I've been always involved in church, read many Christian books about relationships but somehow, I was rejected many times by Christian women. I believe pastors have no clue why many prayers are not answered. They just try to come with an explanation to comfort people. Just like Job's friends.
So I have to keep persistently praying for wholeness and restoration??
