Negative mana usage, negative ammo usage, negative damage AND NEGATIVE MOVEMENT. That's how Terraria works!.. and some bugs. hope it's too bad enough to make new Terraria update like 1.4.1.3. or 1.4.2. Never going to happen, since technically we modded the Terraria, but hey, there's still a chance... just a chance.
And of course, you could do it better with better understanding of the game, but mostly, I just wanted to see if that works or not, and I smashed dungeon guardian, because, that was possible... Thought that was impossible, but yes, it was. it's not one tick dungeon guardian defeat though, just requires few shots.
and of course, more breaking Terraria with cursed thing.

Having that much ammo reduction doesn't save 100% ammo, because ammo reservation is multiplicative
For example:
If you have 10x ammo reservation buff, then you will use (0,8^10x100)% of ammo (about 10,74% of ammo), and not -100%.
Although, ammo reservation might be capped, or will only work with one buff (i'm not sure).

Items that grant x% ammo reduction, or similar effects, are multiplicative. This means...
A 50% reduction negates the usage of 50% of your bullets, so you use 50% of your bullets
Another 50% reduction uses 50% less of that remaining amount, so you use 50% of your 50% used, so 25%
Another 50% reduction uses 50% less of that remaining amount, so you use 50% of your 25% used, or 12.5%
Another example, if you have
40% reduction to damage taken means you take only 60% damage
25% more damage reduction of that means you take 45% of damage, because 75% of 60% is 45%

I wonder though, how the game handles values of 100% and beyond?
For ammo reduction, it's just a percent chance to not use ammo? So if you modded something to give 100% or 200% reduction, probably you'd just never consume ammo, or will it glitch?
For things like mana cost, 100% reduction could mean zero (subtract the entire cost) or half (since "100% more" is double). 200% might be negative, or quarter, or still zero?
It depends how the game does the calculations. It might even glitch with numbers that are beyond certain powers of two (128%, 256%, 327.68%... depending if "200%" is stored as 200 or 2.00 or something else)

i think it combines multiplicatively and not additively. don't forget it is not reduced ammo used. it is a reduced CHANCE of ammo being used. a 20% chance of ammo not being used means the game rolls a 10-sided die with each shot, and if the game rolls a 9 or a 10, ammo is not used. if you have this effect applied 22 times, the game will roll 22 dice, and if at least one of them rolls a 9 or a 10, ammo is not used. thus, the chance of ammo being saved is 1-(1-0.2)^22 , which is about 99.3%. it will never quite reach 100% no matter how many times you apply the effect.

Fun fact: In the calamity mod there's a weapon called shifting sands. It can be made post-Plantera and it's basically an autoswing magic missile but stronger than the rainbow rod. Autoswing allows it to stack projectiles. With the right setup, you can take down half of the Lunatic Cultist's health in revengeance mode right as he spawns. Imagine what you could do to bosses like Aureus or Ravager

Additionally, it actually fared decently well against the queen slime and with the proper gear you could definitely take it down, it's about on par with many of the other early hardmode weapons in terms of dps, unless fighting something with a lot of defense
