Some Terraria mods that's actually good... (Terraria overhaul, mod of redemption, fargo's mod...)

- Terraria has a lot of mods. I've covered some of the... "good, quality, and very nicely built mods"... or bad ones. bad ones that makes your brain bleed. But what if I actually cover some of the good mods? Like Overhaul?... which I have never played...

I played Terraria overhaul a bit, and my brain is melting away; and other mods were quite interesting too, like survivaria was interesting one, and mod of redemption would be fun to play when I do supermod play... which, I don't do.
That's because I don't usually play mods that changes the game completely (total conversion mod). Base game is good enough, and I want to have extra flavor to the base game. But, that doesn't mean I don't like those; well, at least the base game is bad, I just always turn on that mod... if they have any.
These were my first experience with overhaul, or any other mod other than calamity... or cheat menus... so, hope you enjoy...

I have a lot of things to complain about for each mod for the game, so i'm gonna try to keep it in a tl;dr format
- Calamity
Many bosses are too bullet hell-like to work in Terraria. Terraria was not made with bullet hells in mind. Also, the mod has some of the edgiest lore i've seen and the devs take the mod WAYYYYYYYY too seriously.
- Overhaul
While I appreciate the massive overhaul to how ranged works, I feel like it makes the game a lot more... How should I say it, groggy? It just feels a lot slower, plus jump height is massively reduced, which is super annoying. Camera changes, as well. Seasons are okay I guess, but honestly overhaul tries too hard to be realistic, and it does it in the worst ways possible (fire system is purely showing of exactly how it's too realistic).
- Mod of Redemption
This one, compared to the others, is a lot better in my opinion. The bosses are a lot more fun to fight than Calamity's IMO, and the laboratory is a very cool structure in the world. It does have it's issues, though. It's comparable to a bunch of paper cuts, the issues with the mod are small, but there are quite a few. Hard to put my finger on exactly _what_ is the problem, though. It's alright though, definitely give it a try.
- Survivaria
Same story as Overhaul, tries to bring in "realistic" mechanics, ends up flopping terribly and is executed in a pretty bad way. 'Nuff said.
- Fargo's Soul Mod
Sure, it looks like complete and utter bullet hell, but at least from the beginning to Golem, it is purely just a harder difficulty (They make Lunatic Cultist into a pillar-lobbing maniac, which is cool but complete ass to play against. Also, there are bullet hell post-ML bosses, but compared to calamity i'd argue they're done a little bit better.). I honestly enjoy playing through it, but god if the souls aren't grindy. It's already bad enough that armor takes forever to grind for, why did they have to include entire sets into the recipes? Other than that, fun mod. Fuck Moon Lord, though. Hopefully in the update tomorrow they make them a lot better.

@@Aeronium if your character name is fabsol or Totalbiscuit and you have only one NPC in the world (not 100% sure about that), you will not take any dmg (excluding infernado and DoG head on death mode)
Just a word about the doki doki-like corruption music of overhaul and the corruptor being here pre-hm : it's because you started the game with autumn season and in overhaul during autumn the corruption and crimson enter a way more brutal state, when another season hits it gets back to normal music and enemies

I can't wait for tmodloader to get updated to 1.4. I absolutely hate the grinding in vanilla after what happened to me last time i played it. (Literally everything went wrong, i was forced to fish for some accesories because they didn't even spawn, i must've killed like 9000 chaos elementals in still no rod and a lot of other things that just made that playthrough extremely painful). Modded also makes the game way longer and less grindy with certain qol mods (Reduced Grinding, ImkSushi, Quality of life: Recipes, Vein Miner, etc.).

I can’t wait to get into terraria mods. I used to play terraria on an old laptop so I never got to try it. One day my brother broke it, enabling me to be able to build a new computer with way better specs. I can’t wait to try all of these.

I don't get why people say that Calamity looks natural on Terraria. I mean, just look at all these over-detailed sprites!
I personally never played it, and I'm not going to. I'm not saying mod is bad or something, it is just not for me. It adds *too* much, and it doesn't even look like Terraria.
I prefer smaller mods that actually feel like add-ons, not something that has more content than the original game itself. Thorium for example.

I'm currently playing calamity and i'm thinking about playing the other popular mods, will my calamity worlds and characters like disappear when i disable calamity?
@@Maliketh_Montdore they will not disappear, but do keep track of which world has calamity, as if you disable calamity and then join that world, all calamity blocks will be gone or turned intwo their closest variant (astral ice will be regular ice), and the items will be placeholders

It's the autumn season,
the Autumn season makes the corruption areas quite active, so you get a massive spawn-rate increase, and the respective bosses spawn at around 150 enemies killed, it's also why the music's all messed up.

i hate how people actually hate overhaul and call it underrated, it is tho because i generally wanna play multiplayer with people who want to play with it but literally, i mean literally no one in the world wants to play multiplayer with it and i'm not joking, people just jump on overhaul for having different settings, and trying to look different, i'm mentally ready for overhaul but no one else is willing to play it with me, it'd be fun to play it with someone who won't abandon it after 5 minutes. yes I edited this multiple times, u guys are literally jumping shit on this mod, i find it quite fun.

I did it all woth no wiki and no Fargo's mod with one friend and it was freaking awesome! (+Thorium, +3 more mods that add more story like RPG games and make game HARDER) Pretty fun tho

Well so it's obvious i went tru that wihout SoE man.
Calamity is a great mod, my only grudge with it is that calamity is balanced around itself, not around vanilla (thus, heavily conflicting with other mods balance-wise). Beside that, pretty well done mod
I think the balancs is fine up until like providence where vanilla stuff becomes useless, since luminite sets can last until there and you can still use spectre set (and other class sets) for all the pre moonlord bosses

Calamity is great, but it has a lot of fake difficulty
They just bump up the numbers and add more projectile spam, the only thing they achieve is making melee even worse than it already is and encourage players to only go for Ranger, in fact, melee is completely unviable in calamity
Didn't crystyl crushers old alternate move used to just destroy stuff in the direction of your cursor instead of just being a longer range pickaxe swing
