10K. Well done. You deserve them all. Love the way you fault find. Meticulous and organised. As someone else has commented. I always seem to learn a few tips when watching you fix something. Thank-you
It's always a pleasure to see you troubleshooting a motherboard because I always learn something. As always, the Master tracked the "prey" until he hunted it. Excellent repair sir. Thank you very much for sharing. All the best. PS: "without hitting a dead PS5 around my house" ... lol. If you were a rancher, I would advise you to expand the "corral"... Another way to put it, in your new house you will need a "big storage room" or "almacén" in Spanish😊 "corral" in Spanish is the circular place where the cows are locked up to spend the night. Mexican women use the same term for the crib where they put their children when they cannot yet walk on their own, although they certainly also use an affectionate diminutive, that is, "corralito." In short: corralito = crib for small children. My wife and young married daughters still use both terms. An affectionate greeting from Mexico.
Very interesting video! Subbed. Was looking for help to fix my fiance's ps5 after a power surge and looks like we'd better leave this one to the experts! Thanks for saving us from ourselves lol
Great video again to watch and learn. Sorry for disturb your videos just got one question. I got a 12v rail short and swap the Mosfet but I got Blue light then off and already watch other videos you trying to gather knowledge and see you have a IC that got 3.3V witch manage all the mosfet and work good and I have my 1.35Ram but I dont have my 0.90V going to apu just reach to 0.15 then off. How can I test the apu? maybe it didnt survive or any suggestion.
Amazing work mate love the chase !! I’ve got a 1200 board what I’m trying to work out now , any pointers where to find what voltages should be at what test points ?? No luck with uart so the south bridge isn’t turning on (from what I can gather ) I’m getting 12 to the board but nothing else no beeps no lights
They're so rare indeed 🤣🤣 nice fix though. I did come across a similar repair as well but replacing the SB did the trick. A small tip i learned. Make sure the SB is initializing always. Most tines it's always a faulty sb even though everything seems normal. I had bad hdmi encoder ic issue even after replacing it several times (including the port). Changing the SB did the trick
Do you ever work on xbox series x consoles? I have one that has no power due to the southbridge board, either the SB ic or NOR, hopefully it isn't the NOR or it is game over for this console
I have only worked on one Series X and I have been unable to repair it. It had corrupt NOR. I have tried to repair that and cleared the SSD and made sure the sequence numbers match but no luck. I have put it to the side.
I think there were plenty of dead PS3s, especially the first models but also the slim ones. It’s just that at their peak, there were not that many youtube channels and forums discussing the topic.

Really? Well I didn't pay that much for mine. I bought it broken off of eBay. It would not read DC voltage due to a blown trace under the rotary mode switch. I was able to get if fixed up and it now works great!

Thank you so much! I do have fun making these videos.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I do have too many on hand. I can't help myself!
Another nice fix. You are a god among repair people.
Wow! Thanks!
Congratulations for the 10k 🎊
You really deserve 1 million keep it up master 🎉
I’ve been watching guys for years. Most are really good but you top them all. Other streamers send their things to you
An early congrats on 10k. Well deserved. Thanks...
Thank you! Almost there!!!
Rt5126 outputs the enable signal for a lot of stuff that's live on standby. The 3.3v and 1.8v "02x" ics get their enable signal from there too.
Well, same slop different bucket; bad southbridges! Great Repair and Video! Thank You.
Yep, just a South Bridge. I didn't know that when I decided to make the video. Thank you!
Thanks 👍
@@ToltecMerc Sorry, I hope you don't think I was complaining about the video. Just all the garbage southbridges, on these playstations.

Thank you! We rolled over 10K early this morning as I slept!

Check the +5V then check for 3.3V and 1.15V coming out of the Dialog or Richtek chip, whichever your board has. Blown fuse maybe?
@@ToltecMerc I’m getting 5v above and below the chip and 2.4 to the right hand side nothing else in and around that chip . Fuse is all in tact

Yeah these SBs are weak. Reminds be of the old PS4 42GG.
@ToltecMerc indeed. But with those, it was completely dead and no beep. So it's always a direct solution unlike these ps5.

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉excellent 👏 excellent 👏 👌 👍 😀 😊excellent another PS5 done ✔ 👏 master of the master 👏 😊
Thank You! That is too kind of you!
Another great repair. A lot of ps5 are dying, what is wrong with Sony !
Thank you! Weak parts combined with the sheer ridiculous number of consoles they have shipped.
@@ToltecMerc Yeah indeed, congratulations for the 10K ,you deserve 10M 😊
Good job mate 👍
Thank You!
Great work I enjoyed it.
Glad to hear it!
How are these ps5s failing like flies when my decade old ps3/ps2 are still alive and kicking.
There may be some quality control problems. They seem to be making them as cheaply as possible.

PS2 are really resilient but they didnt need that much current and/or generated that much heat
good work
Thank you! I appreciate you stopping by!
when you fix the ps5 , and you say excellent ,you must say it , in the style of mr burns , off the simpsons :P hahaha
I can hear that voice in my head! Thank You!
Holy crap, just googled your multimeter. It’s nearly $2000 Australian dollars.
Really? Well I didn't pay that much for mine. I bought it broken off of eBay. It would not read DC voltage due to a blown trace under the rotary mode switch. I was able to get if fixed up and it now works great!
@@ToltecMerc nice, thinking about buying a Fluke, although I think it’s a bad name for a multimeter.
Currently using a cheap $20 no name.
