I live in a 4 season area but summer here is 5 months and the temps can get very hot and humid. But, I knit sweaters that I fall in love with the pattern and yarn. Sometimes they get worn and sometimes not but I really enjoy the making of them.
From what I can tell, a camisole has thinner straps and is more loose fitting than a tank top by modern fashion definitions. Camisoles used to be worn as undergarments/underlayers historically. I kind of knit both summer and winter garments randomly year round. I make a sweater and get sick of sweaters and go make a tank top in the middle of winter haha
I’ve only met two Summer nets so this podcast was really great for me to reflect more on my own preferences. I really love your delivery your cadence how you talk and how do you explain it is so calming yet peaks my interest every time!
I wear short sleeve wool sweaters all year, but especially in summer. My office is always cold so I like the wool to keep me a little warmer at work. I also tend to run cold, so I find wool generally just as comfortable as cotton.
I LOVE fall knitting. I usually have at least one sweater on my needles all year round. However, i also enjoy knitting summer garments or tote bags during the hotter months. I have the Remi Camisole (tank) on my short list to knit, hopefully this summer. I will make mine in a creamy neutral.
I don’t wear my summer garments outside of summer but that’s because our season is extremely humid and high temps-I need the cooling fibers then! But I haven’t tried Truboo yet and I am very intrigued by the night shirt idea😍
Oh I bet! So hot there! Stay cool! I had a thought the other day of making my kids and I neck cloths with cotton to get wet and wear around the house when it is really hot.
@@denimandrain that’s not a bad idea! I actually have something like that made of fabric. But I think knitting or crocheting a cotton one would be more comfy!
Hi! Lovely podcast :) For the Tolsta tee yarn; in my experience merino with a somewhat higher micron count (how fine the fibers are) can be somewhat itchy. I've used one with 28 micron at some point that was itchy on me.
I knit with fingering and sport weight yarn, because I live in the mid south, and it’s VERY HOT. It doesn’t get hot enough, long enough to spend the time and money using heavier weight yarns.
Yeah I can totally see only making summer things with only lighter yarn. They make such beautiful pieces too! I wear mine more in cooler weather so I can get away with the heavier yarns. Lol
Oh interesting! Might be! I always thought of a Camisole as an under garment and a tank as a top. But these are definitely not under garments, so probably is a regional thing.
I mostly knit summer garments due to living in FL. Your tonight top and mini mock are on my list to knit. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! Yeah, I love that style of top a lot!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful knits 😊

I knit "summer garments" mostly to wear during the other 3 seasons in the year as layering pieces! Thanks for sharing your makes and thought process!
Same! I love layering! Which really means I should add more cardigans to my wardrobe . 😄
“Do I have a dropped stitch?” Had my ❤stop 😂
I've had that though where I wear something a few times and later find a dropped stitch. 😳 lol Yikes! Thankfully not this time!
Try knitting some shorts to go with your pj top. I find then fun to make. I will have to try the tru boo yarn and the Jesse Maed mock tank. Thank you!
Oh, having a set could be nice! 🤩
Jesse also has a few pj bottom patterns that are easy to make.

Wow the typos knit not met knits not nets lol
Thanks so much! 🤗 Yeah, it has taken me a while to really be confident in my preferences for all things clothes and knitting. 😅
Love love love the night shirt idea
I‘m with you there!
It was so random when that thought popped into my head, but I'm so happy it did! It means it is actually getting worn now! 😄

Oooo! A cream Remi would be beautiful!

I love truboo for the finished item! Not my favorite too work with, but it is worth it. I've worn it so many time to sleep already. 😴🙌🏻
I love knitting fall and winter items all year round. Although this summer has been a bit challenging here in Vegas! 🥵🧶

Yeah, I figured it is probably the merino. I'd have to see what the micron count is! I never think to check that when buying. 🙈
You look so pretty in the purple top - you should wear it more often.
Thanks!
The garder tank, maybe do the back side of stockinette. It's similar enough and easier lol just flip it inside out before doing the finishes.

Thanks for video. Love the green walls. Do you mind sharing the Brand of paint, finish (semi gloss, flat, eggshell) and color? Thanks
Thanks! 😁 It is Bher, the color scallion, in an eggshell finish.
I'm knitting a ranunculus to have for an event in October. It's Fingering weight so not horrible. But I do love knitting sweaters no matter when.
Me too! Sweaters are great year round. 😄
Maybe if you juse sommeryarn in t’s bomuld linen on silc. You should try! Love from 🇩🇰 sorry my iPads englich - bad!,! 😅😊
summer lasts about 8 weeks where I live so I knit a few summer tops but mostly fall/winter items
They are more fun to knit anyways! I love knitting sleeves. 😄
If the navy blue top fabric resulted in a dense fabric, has it partially felted after washing with the obvious upward shrinkage?
I think a camisole is an English term and a tank top is an American term

Whoa more commercials please
Don't say that too loud! Because I'm sure TH-cam would arrange that! 🙈🤣
