Nice trip mate. Rangiwahia is a nice hut and cant beat a sunset up there. Been part of the way to triangle just to see the sunrise at the top but would love to head to the hut. It's on my to do list so will have to make it happen one day. Thanks for taking us on your adventure. 👍
Thanks very much for watching and the comment. Great area. Would highly recommend getting down to Triangle. It's in a great spot among nice mature forest. Cheers
My stream of consciousness: Fantastic, another video. Oh, only 12 mins. I wish I had a hiking buddy like this. That looks like epic country, darn steep and those are amazing camera shots on a beautiful day. You captured it well. Rangiwahia hut looks like it is in a great spot. Mortals would have stopped at that one. It must have felt humbling happy and serene to be alone (helicopters excepted) amongst that country - so maybe it was worth walking on to Triangle even if you had to U turn and go back up. And yes, with that weather, the shorter walk out was for the best. Loved it.
Thanks for the comment man! I really enjoyed this one. Definitely still worth the walk to Triangle. It was great walking along the broad tussock tops and a good introduction to the famous Ruahine leatherwood scrub. I was definitely pleased to have enjoyed those tops on that calm afternoon rather than the next morning, so I'm glad how it turned out! Cheers
Hey Ways, got the 708 👍 missed out on a deer by seconds the other day, am still shaking my head. What make ammo does yours like? Groupings are yet to be desired but hoping that's the break in and zeroing. Cheers
@@ReviloNZwalksoh bugger! That’s hunting for you mate, I could write a 300 page book on the misses/bugger ups I’ve had haha. Awesome that you bought the gun. Ok, for my 7mm08 I use Winchester Deer Season, I’m shooting sub MOA at 100 metres no worries. Give those a go, I’ve tried the flash stuff but couldn’t get any better than the Winchesters.
Always love your decision making bud, once you discovered the second hut was closed you weighed up the options and went for it, lots of landslides there but the looks, pretty steep, beautiful place, enjoy your trip to Wellington, Cheers Chris
Cheers for watching Chris - I was amused at the decision but very glad I didn't have to walk back in those conditions the next morning. Wouldn't have been so fun. Cheers
Superb photography. Loved your trip in Richmond Park too. So appreciate seeing these videos of places I won't get to - too old now!! Thankyou! ❤
Thanks so much for watching and your comment!
