Yes, it's very good. However, people can just buy Samsung Tab Active4 Pro, Samsung Tab Active5 or Samsung Tab Active3. All of them support none-battery power on mode.
Every, and I mean every device being constantly on power will kill the battery, no matter the brand or the operating system. It's in the nature of the batteries, and it doesn't matter what type they are - they'll degrade much faster than if they have charge/discharge cycles.
the caveat being unless the device was design for that not to be the case. circuitry exists to disconnect the battery and bypasses it while telling you that its fully charged even though its at roughly 80% because you're a battery abuser that keeps it plugged in all the time in the apple ipad for example.
It's almost like they should have made them to work like laptops and bypass the battery as a power supply when plugged in... What a fucking simple solution, I know...
My Samsung tab A7 has a control board with 2 batteries connected to it. If I purchased your kit, do I wire the red/black to one of the pairs of one of the batteries on the board? The board has a total of 4 connectors, a pair of positive/negative for each of battery
Thanks for a lot of valuable information, it answered all my questions, gave me additional tips (such as Chargie, and using Ampere to figure out whether the firmware uses smart charging). Very much appreciated!
I really like your video. I have a few Lenovo E10's (tb-x104f to be exact). They use a flex cable for their battery to tablet connection. will your conversion kit work with my tablets?
Okay so with this solution the USB Type C port can be used normally like before, right? Not only with cables that only have power lines but also data lines.
You showed examples of the application to Teclast and PIPO. Is it applicable to tablets from other companies? Or can it be applicapable for other tablets from the same company? It seems possible if just removing the battery connection port and then solder the wires directly on the circuits, but I don't know that chip supports every battery types.
I don't mean it badly, your channel seems to be about espresso machines, and the chips shown here seem to be quite a waste of its potential to use only for espresso machines.
@@Sunbeam_Cheese it should work for the majority of devices that don't have battery DRM. Some batteries communicate back to the device their age and manufacturer, temperature, etc. This circuit is for devices that just use a standard lithium ion protection circuit, or a bare battery. Not devices that have fancy battery features. So the majority of cheap no-name tablets will work. What this is, is the battery protection circuit from a standard no name battery design with a voltage divider off of 5v to present to that chip 4.2v all the time, meaning the battery is full (this circuit exists more or less on every cheap phone/tablet battery, you could if you were capable, rip this circuit off the dead battery and patch in your own 4.2v voltage divider in place of the battery. and it would work the same. But this kit is fool proof vs winging it.
Is it possible to create a second USB-port on the decent, so the decent scale can also run battery free? Like for example, splitting the existing USB-port?
If the power comes from the decent machince usb plug in, how does firmware updates work? Frist step on firmware update is to flip the switch on the power supply and this would cut power to the tablet.
Can someone tell me why my tablet pause screen is impossible to shut off? I've made the settings but when my machine is off the tablet always display pictures and I'd like it to just be on standby / off but without turning it completely off so that I can just hit the screen and power on the machine without pushing the tablet bottom down
Have you tried a single touch on the power button, which puts the display to sleep? Anyway.... youtube comments isn't really the place for 1:1 tech support. Maybe you could decentespresso.com/contact us?
My machine is a month old and the tablet maintains a charge of 100% when plugged into the Decent USB. In the video you mention that it should cycle at a lower charge rate. Is there a setting I should check?
@@decentespressotech I am running 1.41.1, which is the latest version of the app. When I exit the Decent app, the charge level of the tablet is at 100%. I went into App-->misc and manually turned on the switch for smart charging. I'm using the DSx skin, so perhaps smart charging isn't activated by default?
Thank you very much for creating and sharing this video, Decent Espresso!!! 🎅

so, with this system, could I connect my old tablet to my car lighter to work as a music player?

do you also have kits for all those old cell phone line note 5 and older. I like to buy them.
Where do I get the kit. I have a nextbook which doesn't power up because battery is gone bad.
Can I have it for Samsung Tab 4 (T231) ?

Did you ever get an answer to this? or figure it out?
@nickrivera2391 i utilized a different power source to power the tablet
Like a phone charger to keep it on

Does the tablet stay completely off when the batterie is out or will it only be dimmed like it is now during smart charge? Thanks for the video!
when plugged into usb, the tablet will work just as if it had a battery. You'll need to turn "smart charge" OFF if you do this.
My tablet is hp and it just silence not doing anything

Yes. Please upgrade to the latest de1app, which will automatically turn 'smart charging' on.

do you one for ipad?
Can I use an Apple iPad to control my Decent?
Not yet, but we're working on a webapp version for later in 2023, and there is a native iphone app close to release.
Will pull the trigger once this happens 😅….till then I will continue to enjoy my Linea Mini
