Awesome Eddie and Nate! Rock - Sub is an awesome album! We'll worth the wait! Thanks guys for not giving up or in! Oui is just an extension of Rock & Roll Submarine which both harken back to pre Saturation Urge. Love you guys! Thanks for all the great music!
Oh man, this reminds me why I was head over heels for this band's music. Nash is outstanding and the obvious face but, I love Eddie's writing, the man is just such the soul of Urge. The fact that people still hang out and dis them just brings it all back. They might have got waylayed but, they were on to something. Sort of awesome they never really caught hold of it but, we knew it, saw it and here it still is.
Blackie Onassis, the original drummer had a serious heroin issue that resulted in him leaving or being kicked out of the band (unclear as to which). It's more complicated than just that though. There was a ton of tension between Nash and Eddie. From some reports, it got so bad that they wouldn't talk to one another while recording Exit the Dragon and that Blackie had to be a messenger between the two. Ironic that it was a spectacular album. There was other stuff as well... Geffen had ridiculous expectations for the sale of Saturation that couldn't possibly be met. Exit the Dragon was also a much more mature, complex and less radio-friendly record than Saturation. Just a lot of bad stuff interfered with their ascension. But they made some spectacular music and had a hell of a run. And now they're making great music again.
I flew from San Francisco to Chicago to see urge at the 20th anniversary of the double door club!!! My favorite band since August of 1993. Sacramento San Francisco Berkeley and Santa Cruz California also. Thank you!
@@joycequinn6763 I was born and raised in Chicago Illinois. I saw urge Overkill a couple of times during their reunions shows after 2004. The first time I saw them ever was then opening for the Pixies at a place called the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago back around 2005 or 2006 I believe. I don't care what people say I think they still got it. Too bad Blackie never really got it together because in my opinion he was the best drummer they had ever
@hanskristoffkarl Yep, Urge Overkill rocks! I was asked to shoot the Summerfest show also, and another music video for them, but couldn't fit it in. Thanks for liking the Effigy video! - Mike White @mikewhite
You'd probably get thrown out by a vicious bouncer wanna be cop who would then charge you with assaulting him. Maybe, this happens only in Canada, I don't know. There are a lot of fucking narks here.
Great song!!

Love you guys! Thanks for all the great music!
2 of the most seminal albums for me in the 90s were Saturation and Exit the Dragon. I was pretty stoked for this one.
I delivered a million pizzas listening to this band.
These guys have hardly aged at all. Still looking great and sounding great after all of these years.
Urge are the best! Saw them perform in Melbourne Australia twice, loud as anything! Please come back and give us some more!

Yes. There was and is something special about them. Geffen records execs saw it too. Too bad heroin derailed it all. :/
What happened with heroin??

@robertgoul Thanks! it was a lot of work, but working on this song for Urge Overkill was a great project!
@burnindownthehouse I agree. They can definitely put on an intense show!
this is a song I could really slam and mosh to but I don't think the rest of the audience would appreciate me bumping into them.
