twist and rip is a good idea when you have long hair. its hard to pull off when hair is short
Grzybson my hair is around 3-4 inches depending on what part of my head you look at and I have been using the twist and rip along with crochet hooks and they have formed very well over the past 2-3 days

mocfive yes they grow out straight from the root, and that is when you maintain them, some ways to maintain them are interlocking & crochet hook
