Since I'm NOT an artsy/craftsy kind of girl, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to settle for seeing YOUR beautiful handiwork, Miss Lori. These turned out so beautiful, and I'm SURE they smelled heavenly! I LOVE scented candles, anytime of the year. They can be so relaxing, and just add so much to the atmosphere of a room. Wonderful to see how candles are made. The most difficult prepper/homesteader skill is making illumination. It''s hard to raise enough of a herd to harvest fat as lard,then make soap, and then make tallow. Plantwise canola (rapeseed) and sunflower can be pressed as oil. Most canola after being pressed will be refused by livestock as fodder. Olive and sesame were traditionally used by won't work in most of the USA. The Japanese press certain varieties of sumac to get a wax and most their candles are made from that.
I think making your own presents are the best presents ever. I would prefer to get a small homemade gift versus and expensive store purchased gift. I crochet so I always try to make something special for my loved ones as much as I can.

I have bags and bags of soy flakes from my Encaustic Painting and loads of orange and rum and all kinds of concentrated flavors that I refused to throw out...haha..and now I know WHY!! Ms Lori, instead of fighting the short ribbon with our old(ish) hands, I use a much longer piece of ribbon and cut off the excess. Works for me.
