  • In the final part of the interview with Peter Ambuehl, we talk about PLASMA SPRAYING
The discussion goes mainly about plasma spraying technology and applications.
The application examples go from turbine blades to human body implants & cooking pans.
The atmospheric plasma spray process is used for wear and corrosion protection, thermal insulation, repair, restoration and further surface functions. As it is the most flexible of all thermal spray processes, coatings can be applied at high deposition rates onto different metallic substrates using the widest variety of powder feedstock materials composed of metals, alloys, carbides, ceramics and others.

8:01 yttrium stabilized zirconium, applied on all land base Turbines.
Chrome oxide , chrome oxide Titanium silica dioxide, Metco 136cp used in Texas on compressor rods in the early 1980s among other applications.
Pure chrome oxide with a tantalum bond coat then sealed . Used in fertilizer plants

You gave very interesting explanations about plasma technology. I am interested in trying this device. How to buy a Metco plasma gun?

one thing I wish you'd covered is the thermal limitations of this technology ie limits of what you can coat based on the temperature of the spray on the substrate. Otherwise, great series!

Thanks for the information. It would be better if you demonstrate the sinplex pro and nitrogen hydrogen mixture working conditions also.

Hey what’s the empirical relation between coating thickness and coating parameters in APF
