If world was about bringing new tech and science to a new world then Rise is about partnering with nature to be greater than the sum of the parts and this run shows that in style. Using spiders to stun, wirebugs to travel, beetles to paralyze, the terrain to find hidden tools, riding and taking advantage of other large monsters in smart ways, and of course relying on your favorite new partner the palamute makes this a superbly well rounded hunt. I can't wait to see what else you bring to this game when it releases!
I don't like it and I don't like mounting mechanics. I get the appeal though, to each their own. I just prefer the good old arena style fighting from 2nd/3rd gen where it's just hunter versus monster and no flashiness that distracts from the actual weapon gameplay
@@CaptainNoobzor Not using the new mechanics won't put you at disadvantage though. Taking GL as example there is a previous run by matcha in 6'40'' and I'm pretty sure the run can be improved
@@mekudu-man3804 I don’t think they were saying that others shouldn’t use it, just pointing out that there are people who’ve watched this video and still aren’t sold on the gimmick. Also, as someone who doesn’t love the clutch claw, not using it won’t inherently make Iceborne better when enemies are designed with its use in mind. The “just don’t use it” argument doesn’t make sense here and really just serves as a “shut up, no discourse about a thing I like.”
@@amyyost7022 eh I didn't care. I kinda dislike that you can't clutch to the monster anymlre when they leave the area which sucks. I also dislike how they mapped the buttons. I mean the gunners have the silkbutton switched, which is annoying when you come from blademaster or switch to them. I also hate how they also switched the button for the aiming of the IG to the right side. I don't get why they had to do this convolluted shit - I want pracically the same controls for all the weapons, just like in World and Iceborne, why did they have to ruin this perfect system?
Dang! The bomb strat along with the puppet spider and chain-mounting are so creative, a shame that you got bubbled arround the mid point when you were putting down the trap, you could have saved some time, still, amazing run pal, maybe you can lower the time even more
are what im seeing is right? this is elegant battle using GL and same with im predicted after talking with my friends who has the switch and try the demo, this is exactly what im imaging MHW at first but they didnt do that, then in rise are on my expectation level
First one comes easy but the second is way harder to get. You'd only see a lot of rides like this if you specifically used each monster loaded on the map like he did.
Almost perfect run, you are missing one core new tech tho. When the monster is a good distance away you usually sheath then wirebug jump at them, but you can actually chain charged shell into backhop by cancelling charged shells with your backhop, when you get good at it you can essentially chain long backhops together continuously and move at ludicrous speeds. Much quicker than sheathing for closing distance.
Its actually not as bad as you think. It will always do the flip after you get off giving you full knock down punish time on the monster. It just looks bad because your not on it
No way, just a tool, like mount in previous games, if you don't use it, it's the same. The new mount is similar to the old one if you don't use monsters to attack, it is just faster to knock the monster down to get an opening
Is huge burst damage, but you can simply no use it if you want, not like clutch claw that was mandatory to deal good damage. I think monster riding is more similar to enveriomental traps in world/iceborne.
Thanks god they obliterated ledges into nothingness where they belong... I swear i was in tears when i realized that the map wasn't my enemy anymore after playing 4U
*Me, in my head to my self:* A full year ago, think this guy has learned this, and answered his own question by now? He almost certainly has. Am I going to answer it anyway? He almost certainly will. .... You press Y while facing the second monster in order to launch your currently ridden monster, into the one you'd like to ride next. This bashes into the new monster, knocks your currently ridden monster to the ground, sending you flying off your monster. I guess the concussive blow done to the new monster, no doubt an effect of your currently ridden monster running full tilt into it's dome piece, was enough to temporarily stun it and open it up for a chain mount. This is for sure the best way to end all monster vs monster scenarios where you're riding one. It does damage to your ridden monster as well on the hit, and you get to attack your currently ridden monster with the new one as well. Insane damage potential when you consider the fact that each monster can be ridden once every five minutes, IF you initiate riding them in a different way every time. The different options for mounting include 1.) A monster taking damage from another monster opens it up for a mount after a set amount of hits and or damage (I don't remember which). 2.) You launch a currently ridden monster into said monster, as in the original discussion. 3.) You attack the monster from the air, doing mount damage. Once you reach the monsters threshold for mount damage they open up to being ridden. 4.) Puppet spider, but I cannot remember if this one is its own, or if it is grouped under number 3, so don't quote me here. Considering three monsters on a map, by the time you mount one, do your damage and launch it into another monster, do your damage launch it into the last monster, do your damage there, then finisher, get knocked off... First monster has the five minutes up, if not then close. You run and mount one of the other three ways and continue chaining. You can take down all three monsters with very little effort. Skills such as wirebug whisperer for the third wirebug duration, as well as cutting wirebug refresh time to utilize the evade cancel after each attack, which allows you to chain the attacks together insanely quickly. The mounting armor skill to increase your time ridden as well as the finisher bar duration. Then the riding weapon ramp up skill to do more damage when mounted. Insane. Answer your question?
