In general the closer to game release the harder the max mode, due to lack of knowledge. Just look at fnaf 1, it went from an RNG nightmare to essentially free.

To answer your question from the video, I think both montages and play-by-play commentary have their place, and you kind of just have to feel the vibe of the video in question. For example with FNAFLOCKE, that video was so narrative focused that finishing it with a super climatic ending feels right, but for this video-which I’m guessing was supposed to be a little more low key b/c there wasn’t any story aspect and you’re saving the spectacles for the UCN AI guide-the breakdown you gave feels tonally appropriate. In fact, in this case the commentary benefitted understanding what the challenge was like to play, which is important because it’s not visually apparent all the hoops you are having to jump through to beat this w/o audio. In summary, I enjoy both approaches, so I think it comes down to what fits with your artistic direction for the video.
I was JUST binging a bunch of your videos and saw this. Very exciting! Also, I by far prefer you analyzing your final run rather than a montage, it makes it a lot more interesting and easier to understand what's going on as I don't actively play FNAF or anything. It's very engaging. Great video!

The weirdest thing about the catching Pokémon tutorial, is that the first games (Gameboy gen 1) didn't have a proper one. I got stuck in Viridian City for so long because that old man never lowered the hp of the Weedle he caught, so I didn't try lowering the hp before throwing a Poké ball for the longest time either.

the strats you used for ballora and afton were kinda wacky and unnecessary, since their appearences both have very distinct office light flashes so they can be countered like normal 50/20 which lets you beat it with almost the same amount of power as normal 50/20 (like 15%+ with relative ease), but ggs regardless you still did it :p

The final section you did explaining the winning run was great and I think it would work really well for very complex challenges and games, UCN 50/20 being a prime example. However, those montages you do are not only unique but are super well done and work especially well for the more flashy games like Rat and Cat all challenges. Whether or not you do more explanations or mostly stick to montages, I will be happy, but I think they both have their own use cases. Either way, I'm impressed as always by your completion of these cerebral challenges and wish you success on your future runs!

Also, for the ending sequence of your challanges you could do a combination, first you show the montage and then you go through the intresting bits in more detail, but I personally mind neither over the other.
I think changing the "epic montage" is a great idea, because the whole video is kinda concentrated more on details, explaining each part, and now in the end we can see how everything comes together
