Well if you're going to make a list of songs that allows me to make a racket with a harmonica, that's just your own fault isn't it?

Boy this takes me back; the first song I ever heard Donovan sing. You're having a lot of fun with those harps Edwin. It's hard to stop at just one, but at least they take up less room than a uke collection.

It is a lot of fun! Doing it live is a lot more fun than overdubbing, and somehow I like the sound even though it's more, er, sloppy. It's more like the sound I want and weirdly I find it harder to get when I'm playing the harp on its own.
I think I can resist this rabbit hole anyway :). I have harps in all the keys I'm likely to need in the near future. I've never played one worth more than about ten pounds so maybe I'm missing out though...

@@jtsteam In 1968 or 1969, I was hitch-hiking in Scotland when my A Marine Band mouth harp crapped out. I went to a music store to buy a replacement and The owner had never heard of a Marine Band, so I showed him and he said that it looked like an Echo Super Vamper. He showed me one and sure enough, they were exactly the same except for the cover plate. I still have that harp and it still works fine.
Do they still sell them over there?

@@PHJimY You can definitely get a Marine Band. I haven't heard of an Echo Super Vamper though. I just have a few Fender Blues Deluxe, which are very much at the cheap end. One day I suppose I should find out what paying more gets you with harmonicas (it's not as if you can really try someone else's...)

Everyone must sing this at some time. One of the great songs. Well done Edwin. Harmonica was good too.

I’ve made a darn sight worse racket with a harmonica than you although probably not for a couple of years now. I used them for fills on my own compositions. Anyway, enough of me, that was a very enjoyable cover of one of my favourite songs, your rhythm playing is always very good, the harp was good and your vocal seemed more laid back than usual which I thought suited the song perfectly. Thank you for bringing it.

Thanks! I'm not sure if I was actively trying for "laid back" although I suppose I was trying to fit the song. I'm glad it worked, in any case :).
I am having way too much fun with this harp rack...

I’ve a lot of time for Donovan. Saw him at Glasto a good few years ago, then about 10 years ago saw him in Manchester. His singing was way out of tune, but he was such an engaging performer and between songs he told stories of partying with the Stones and drug busts, it was a great night.
