The first Conker game!
Two years before the events of Bad Fur Day, Conker celebrates his birthday, but the Evil Acorn steals his presents and kidnaps Berri, his girlfriend. Conker's goal is to retrieve the presents and rescue Berri.
I have collected all of the presents and all but one invitation (I really don't know where it is). It doesn't matter tho, except for the ranking at the end. I got the Birthday Bonanza rank (the highest next rank is whole shebang). -

i remember a kid got this game for me for my 7th birthday. i always thought the game looked hideous graphically and was frustrating so i rarely played it, but years later when i found out the same character was in a adult themed game on N64, my older cousin bought it for me and i kept the cartridge hidden in my bedroom so my parents wouldn’t find it (i wasn’t allowed to play M rates games when i was a little kid)

At the very beginning, to see two happy, buckteeth squirrels who like each other looking at a birthday present and feeling happy about a party is a drastic relief compared to the dark and inappropriate world in Conker's Bad Fur Day. It makes you wish that Conker stayed as a family-friendly character, just as you saw him in Diddy Kong Racing. The reason why the drastic change of character for Conker was sad is because he was once part of a naive, sweet, and kid-friendly world, but then, the cute squirrel that you knew as one of the sweetest characters is now a greedy, pessimistic alcoholic, like a washed-up adult who doesn't know what to do with his life. I guess you could say that Conker grew up, but in the wrong environment. Personally, I feel better to think of Conker as a nice and cute character.

I remember playing this game when I wad about 2-4 years of age, and this was in about 2006-2008. And it was my favourite game, so remembering tbe name of the game made me excited, and I wanna see what I think of it now. So far I'm remembering a lot. 😁

I noticed that as well.
They reused everything all the time. Graphics, sounds, ideas. All rehashed or modified for DK64, BK 1 & 2, Conker, etc.

The name of that track is called Old Chap it was originally in Twelve Tales Conker 64 then they reused it for Bad Fur Day

I'm sure Conker simply found a new girlfriend of the same name. You see, Berri here is a red squirrel, just like Conker himself. And in Bad Fur Day Berri is a chipmunk, judging by her grey fur and abscence of tail.

He was supposed to be in the sequel to Conker’s Bad Fur Day but sadly it got cancelled because Microsoft bought Rare and they rejected the project and decided to rerelease Conker’s Bad Fur Day as Conker Live and Reloaded. But honestly that would be cool if Honker was actually in Conker’s Bad Fur Day
I've always thought it was a shame Honker wasn't used in Bad Fur Day as well, I think he could have fitted in quite well as an antagonist.
This and Pokemon Blue were my first gameboy games.
I like to imagine that this was Conker’s childhood before he grew up to be the greedy alcoholic we all know today. Because I find it really crazy that Conker changed so much after this game. That and Conker’s Quest / Twelve Tales Conker 64.

I remember not knowing how to read when I beat this game
It's surprising how wildly different the Game Boy and Game Boy Colour versions of the game actually are. The GB version seems to have much larger maps, especially in the outdoor areas as the screen only scrolled to the next when you get to the edge of it. The Swamp near the guardian and Krow's Keep were much larger in GB as well as the hub map. Enemies don't seem to drop health in the GBC but do in the GB. The minigames are much harder in GB and the coconut shooting minigame is nearly impossible without save states and likely made many people quit there. Claw Swamp seems quite different in layout the GBC version as well as having no boulders coming after you here, with the puzzles being much simpler too as the game seems to have been made a bit easier. The red plants which move take two hits in the GBC but three in the GB game. There's also the inventory system change as well as GBC having save where you want. Waldorf continually shoots rocks that bounce around while he moves left to right, and a sword when he stops, making him much harder, but he's also vulnerable when moving around, and many more changes.
Overall it seems the GBC had a lot more details added throughout and made to look a LOT nicer too in terms of design and how the whole thing looks and present itself but it appears to present a more compressed version of the GB game and made much easier and simpler to play too. The best thing they did is fix the minigames on Mako Island on the GBC making them more fair.

With the first boss, you can safely stand between the trees right in front of you at the start of the battle and fire at the snake's head whenever it passes by.
At 1:46 has the same banana collect sound from Donkey Kong Land 1, 2, 3, and DKC for GBC.
It seems Conker is the only silent character in this game.
I found one difference between this and Twelve Tales Conker 64, Is that Berry share the protagonic place with Conker in the cancelled N64 idea, while here she's apducted by Evil Acorn.

I kind of wish Rare would make a sequel to Bad Fur Day that's closer to the original 12 Tales concept they had, but keeping Conker with the same kind of look and attitude he had in BFD. And at least bring back Honker as a bad guy.

I remember this game and I gave up when I've to fight this swamp fiend. No matter what do to I took damage by attacking him, I took damage when I got a pixel too close to him. And it seems the player here got also problems to beat this boss :D

Closest thing we'll ever get to Twelve tales Conker 64. Im very happy this game was released and actually made it to store shelves many years ago. This game is literally a piece of gaming history. I can see a remastered version of this for nintendo switch.
I had this game and while it was quite reasonable, it could have been a lot better. The levels got a bit repetitive after a while and the Mako Islands were well nigh impossible (well, the mini games were; I nearly broke my wrist with them) and I never got past "Skeet shooting"; there might have been a bug in the game
