I started using a white cane full time in 2018. I began to see a behavioral therapist in 2021. I really wish I had sought help much sooner. I allowed me anger, anxiety, depression and negativity to overwhelm me and my wife. I had no idea the emotional damage I was inflicting on her, and by the time I finally sought help, it was already too late. Now, my marriage is in shambles, and I don’t know if it can be repaired. So, my advice to others is PLEASE get out of denial. Get the help you need. If you don’t, you will only hurt yourself and the ones you love.
Wow...thank you for sharing this honest perspective. I'm sure it isn't easy. I don't know your situation so I can't comment for sure, but many people work back from many things. I wish you all the best as you move forward in your journey!
I started using a special tinted glasses that help with headaches and nausea. started looking up mental health videos and reading some philosophy to help expand my perspective so I’m able to have easier conversations with people also started going to the gym so that I can remain physically healthy and capable and work on my balance (haven’t tripped and fell in about 2 and a half years now which was a constant frustration during the first year+). I’m also eating healthier and taking care of myself, home, and wife better to make the hard days less frequent and easier to handle when they come. Since I really started applying myself to be the best me it’s been getting less stressful and I think less about what I can’t do and focus on things I can. I don’t think I will ever get used to it but I’m not going to let visuals impairment be my life it’s just something that i have to work with
@@LifeAfterSightLoss thanks man your videos have been great very helpful in many ways for me! A big one is being more understanding of my own situation and easier on myself when I’m struggling ✊🏼
