You will love ayreon by the way floors sister Irene is one of the three background singers there are many other vocalists besides the one already mentioned, Maggie luyton is a wonderful singer I first heard with ayreon she's kinda short in black leather with a powerful set of lungs LoL fish from marillion also appeared on a ayreon album. He also comes up with some cool song names like intergalactic space crusaders and everybody dies is another oh and floor appears as a vocalist on a number of songs like everybody dies for eg. I'd recommend the intergalactic space crusaders and everybody dies to react to and I think you will enjoy them something fierce. LoL I love your NIGHTWISH reactions it's so nice seeing somebody react to the bands and songs you love.thank you so very much.💚💚💚💚💚💚
"Everybody dies" live version would be a great next song. As someone who discovered Ayreon through YT reactions I am enjoying this so much! Thanks Stacey!
Ayreon is a musical project by Dutch songwriter, singer, musician and record producer Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Ayreon's music is described as progressive rock, progressive metal and power metal sometimes combined with genres such as folk, electronica, experimental and classical music. The majority of Ayreon's albums are dubbed "rock operas" because the albums contain complex storylines featuring a host of characters, usually with each one being represented by a unique vocalist. Each Ayreon album tells a different story, but all, with the exceptions of Actual Fantasy, The Theory of Everything, and Transitus, take place in the same fictional, science fiction universe; additionally, Lucassen's solo album Lost in the New Real is also set in the Ayreon universe. Ayreon's music is characterized by the use of traditional instruments in rock music mixed with instruments more native to folk and classical music. Lucassen writes the music and the lyrics, sings and plays most of the instruments on all of the Ayreon albums, alongside many guest musicians. His most regular collaborator is drummer Ed Warby. The binary code means "Trust TH-1" I also call this song : "The song that exploded my music world"!!!! The singers in order of appearance are: James LaBrie from Dream Theater Tommy Karevik from Kamelot, Seventh Wonder Tommy Rogers from Between the Buried and Me Simone Simons from th most epic Epica Nils K. Rue from Pagan's Mind and Eidolon Tobias Sammet from Edguy and here mentioned Avantasia Hansi Kürsch the „Bard from Walhalla“ from Blind Guardian Mike Mills playing a computer and singing binary from Toehider Russell Allen from Symphony X Michael Eriksen from Circus Maximus and last but not least the incredible Valkyrie Goddess Floor Jansen from Nightwish NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA 🤘😎🤘
YEEESSSSSS! I literally found your channel a couple of hours ago and have been chewing through the content! Ayreon was one of the bands I wanted to suggest. I was at the Live Beneath The Waves show last year in the Netherlands. What an amazing experience!! Ayreon is the work of Arjen Lucassen and his brilliance. I hope you dig into this project even further. I would suggest the recently released Sixth Extinction live from the show last year.
... Welcome in the amazing world of Arjen A. Lucassen Aka Ayreon Universe (Ayreon, Ambeon, Star One, Supersonic Revolution, Plan Nine, Guilt Machine, Gentle Storm, Stream of Passion).... Enjoy this 100+ artist thick rabbit hole….!!!!! #themeaningoflifeistogivelifemeaning 🤘
Tommy Karevik of Kamelot, Simone Simons of Epica, Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian... 3 bands I have loved for many long years, and I have seen each of them live once so far. I'm getting ready to see Kamelot on Saturday with Ad Infinitum and Hammerfall. As a side note on the singing in binary... The Warning does a little of that in their song 'Error', though it's a lot shorter and not so elaborate.
Dude you are going to have so much fun. Just saw them Saturday in Boston. Slightly different line up with Seven Spires in place of Hammerfall (guess they couldn't make the first few shows). Melissa was incredible and I loved the three songs she joined in with Tommy on. Sacrimony and Liar, Liar were fantastic. She even joined in on a duet with Adrienne from Seven Spires on their song Lightcatcher that was fantastic. If people haven't heard Seven Spires I highly recommend them. American symphonic metal band formed by a group of students from Berklee in Boston. Gods of Debauchery and Succumb are great first listens. Like Ayreon all of their songs and albums are based on the same fantasy story. Go on their website and you can read the backstory which gives some context to the songs, especially why Adrienne's harsh vocals are so demonic (her character is possessed by a demon).
The plot thickens! Stacey, Stacey, Stacey.... You know you're required to watch Ayreon's live show now. 'Ayreon Universe' is the go-to, until 'Live Beneath The Waves' hits the internet... uh, waves. Lots of fun songs, including, but not limited to: 'Everybody Dies', 'Intergalactic Space Crusaders', 'Abbey of Synn', 'Dawn of a Million Souls', 'Comatose', 'Valley of the Queens', 'The Eye of Ra' and many more. The logistical challenge of gathering so many singers for a series of live shows is mind-blowing, but it's so rewarding to watch and listen to. The production value is off the charts, and everyone is having fun on stage. It's very clear that Arjens is well-loved and held in high regard. Also, do NOT sleep on Toehider! It's Mike's love child (with himself), and he has made some really good live playthroughs available here. 'How Do Ghosts Work' is somewhere to start.
Ayreon is not a band, per se, but one of the many musical projects of Dutch composer/multi-instrumentalist/producer Arjen Lucassen (the guy playing the guitar, bass, synths and organ, and providing the narration in the captions). All Ayreon albums are concept albums that tell a story, and Arjen gets top-notch vocalists from all over the world to play the various parts of the characters in the story. Due to the logistics of getting everyone together in the same place at the same time, live performances are few and far between, but there have been a few, and lucky for us they're all available on video. I would highly recommend you check out the live version of "Everybody Dies" as your next Ayreon adventure.
@@bazkeen Yeah! Even if it’s a few diffrent singer in that version. They all do a great job! Everyone’s happy except the one paying the electrical bill 😂
More Ayreon with Queen Floor singing? Check out the beautiful live version of the Valley of the Queens, where Floor joins 2 other Queens to sing of their ultimate destination in the Egyptian valley of the queens.
The binair zero ones means: TRUST TH1 (Mike Mills as the robot), The tall guy is the man himself Arjen Anthony Lucassen playing the guitar, bass, synthersyzer and Hammond. They did play this song live already worth looking at that one too
Great reaction to this amazing piece of music! On a side note, the new Nightwish album is releasing on September 20th and the single, "perfume of the timeless", is releasing on may 21st!!
Wonderful to see Arjen getting some acknowledgment - I've been suggesting him for a long time, looking forward to getting back to listen to this review very soon.
This song got me to listen to so many more bands. Arjen is such an incredible musician. His music can be considered Metal Opera. He not only writes songs but has whole back stories behind the music. Other songs to watch... Valley of the Queens (with Floor, Marcela Bovio, and Anneke van Giersberg), Everybody Dies (With "everyone") and one of most favorite, Daniel’s Descent into Transitus Medley featuring Simone Simons and Tommy Karevik.
Hi Stacey, hope things are going great for you today. What are your new favorite artist since you started this channel besides Iron Maiden of course. They are my favorite band.
As others have pointed out, Ayreon is a project rather than a band. Welcome to this world! I've been a fan of Arjen's music for over 20 years, and it's all amazing! Great reaction! I loved at the start of the rock part you were jamming hard enough to shake the desk, mic stand, camera and parts of the set! I look forward to each of your reaction videos and look forward to the next!
So..Stacey...you have an ear for prog rock,eh? That's so cool! The Ayreon album 'Into The Electric Castle' is a top tier Ayreon (double) album that you's love. And it sounds like you need to discover the music of neo-prog genius,Neal Morse. Check into his Neal Morse Band, Transatlantic, Spock's Beard, Flying Colors, and his solo material. You will be floored by his work. Hope you react to some/any of Neal's music...he's thee man! Lots of longer epics as well as shorter compositions--all great! Love your reactions, lady! Keep 'em coming...Regards, T
You could say Arjen was the promoter of Floor's career. He is also one of the few musicians whose size ratio to the floor seems normal. Of course this also applies to Hannes.
CONGRATS ON 50k subs STACEY!! 🥳🎉You absolutely earned every last one of them. One of the best reaction channel on TH-cam, hands down. Hope to see you celebrating more major milestones soon. 🤘🏻
Great reaction! Arjen is such a great musician and composer. Only someone of his calibre would attract such an array of top musicians to come and work with him. All the singers were awesome, but, like you I’ve got to give a special mention Michael Mills. The talent that it takes to multi track all those harmony parts is just amazing. Everybody Dies is a great live song to check out if you want continue with Aryeon.
Arjen makes great musicals i like to call metal theatre. Ayreon project is just one of those projects another fav of mine is Star one. Ayreon introduced me to many great bands. Everyone loves Arjen and many groups colab. Enjoy.
More than 30 years ago I saw Arjen life in the Dutch (my small country) heavymetal band Vengeance. He is a heavy metal sorcerer and pioneer! An epic journey to start!
Now this is.. let's call it the Studio version. Recently an (official, no bootleg) live version has come out on YT from the September 2023 concert. Not all original artists were there, there is over 10 years in between. Floor could not attend, she was in the last days of expecting. Singers: The historian was James Labrie, now Damian Wilson; the opposition leader Tommy Karevik, now Nils Gildenlöw; the chemist Tommy Rogers, now Jan Willem Ketelaars*; the counselor Simone Simons, her again. the prophet Nils K. Rue, now Maggy Luijten; the captain Tobias Samnet, now John Jaycee Cuijper; the astronomer Hansi Kürsh, him again; the android robot TH-1 Michael Mills, him again; the president Russell Allen, now Tom Eklund; the diplomat Michael Eriksen, now Anneke van Giersbergen; the biologist Floor Jansen, now as duet Irene Jansen* and Marcela Bovio* .Notice that the prophet and the diplomat have changed gender.. Does not matter in this setting. Singers marked * are also in the backing chorus. Arjen does not play instruments here on stage. There are two guitarists and a base player. All the keys are played by Joost van den Broek who is also the musical stage director. The live concerts were in a Dutch town called Tilburg in a 3K venue, not larger. Ticket Bookings for this September 2023 concert opened november 2022 and were sold out in 5 minutes. No surprise that attendants traveled from all over the world. Michael Mills made fun to the public (about his 1001011 lyrics): "If you know the words please sing along...." He can be such a banter...
When listening to Ayreon think of the album as a movie. Each song is a different scene. Each singer is a different character. The lyrics of the song are the different characters having a conversation with each other. Arjen said that in prog anything can be expected. The characteristic that sets progressive metal apart from other sub genres of metal is that it can pull from and incorporate any other style of music. You heard the jazzy section. Any genre or style of music you can think of can be incorporated into prog. Jinjer can be considered prog. Nightwish and Epica are primarily considered to be symphonic metal but both can also be considered to fit into prog. Most metal bands can fit into several metal sub genres. It would be a long reaction video (close to 2 hours) but all of us would love to see you do a reaction to a full Ayreon live performance. There's somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 singers (maybe more). Some featured in this video and others not included in this one. Marco and Floor both from Nightwish as well as Floor's sister Irene are in the live performance. You would get so see Floor and Irene sing a short duet and Marco wearing a kilt. This full live show is a truly amazing concert. If you don't want to do the entire concert in 1 go you could break it down into multiple videos where you do 1-4 songs per video. Other commenters feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but the name of the concert I'm thinking of is Ayreon Universe. Other commenters have already recommended individual songs from this concert. Here's a link to a playlist that incudes every song from the concert. 123 minutes total. th-cam.com/play/PLJGn3wi7b7b606GfoKAdOgm6rtX9OliRc.html&feature=shared Ayreon is one of Arjen's ongoing music projects. Another project of his is Starship One. Each song in the Starship One project is inspired by a sci-fi movie. Ayreon albums as I've mentioned are like a movie. In Starship One albums the song don't connect with each other. Arjen does the same thing with both projects where he pulls talent from other bands. I'm glad to see you getting into Ayreon. Continue down this path. You won't be disappointed.
7:24 That's a rotating speaker in a Leslie cabinet. The rotation gives a kind of vibrato effect to whatever is played through it. Often used with Hammond organs. The binary code (The 1's and 0's) Mike Mills sings spells out trustTH1 the character he sings on the album. All Ayreon albums are concept albums, and they follow the same story.
Tommy appears in a pre-lockdown Ayreon video with Simone from Epica - "Transitus". He does really good work with Kamelot too - which gave Epica their name (from a Kamelot album title)! Hansi from Blind Guardian - looks like my dentist but what a voice! Mike Mills - Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! ("Trust TH-1" - the binary code translated). Arjen Lucassen is a genius! And he makes Floor look to be "average height" too!!!!.... teasing with Floor at the end, hey!? ;)
Yesss, ayreon! great reaction, glad you checked them out! I agree with everyone, watching their live recordings will be a lot of fun, and you should also totally check out micheal mills' band, toehider, he has a bunch of live stream recordings on his channel, they're all great!
Yes!!!! Enter the rabbit hole of Arjen Lucassen!!!! But he is not new. Spitting out fantastic epic music for decades and decades. The guy is a master composer. A modern day Mozart. And very very nice. No wonder all those great artists, in themselves forming the world top, love to sing in his projects. Ayreon is fantastic. Another project from him, The Gentle Storm, should be discovered as well. Highly, highly, highly recommended!!!
Arjen Lucassen has been working with over 120 of the top musicians and singers from all over the world - and Floor since year 2000 !! (and her sister a few years later).
Ayreon is like an audiobook series on steroids. Perfect bedtime stories to close your eyes to and letting the music build a universe out of wiggly air. Enjoy the ride! This was just chapter one :)
If you want a full orchestra in the background and bagpipes and hurdy gurdy and Hansi Kürsch, go check out: Saltatio Mortis x Blind Guardian (& the Prague symphonic orchestra) - Finsterwacht Oh and by the way you will also get the most storytelling video of the year 2024.
I've been a fan of Ayreon since I first heard their album The Human Equation in 2007ish. Though, regretably, I've only had that one CD for over a decade and never thought to look up more of their stiff until 2020. Their shit slaps so hard I can never get bored of listening to all the vocal parts. If you ever do more Ayreon, try some songs from that album, like "Day Two: Isolation", "Day Five: Voices" or "Day Twelve: Trauma".
They actually managed to pull this off live in 2023, it's on Arjen own youtube channel. Those live concerts are really something else. Looking forward to September 2025!
This project has been a journey for me, I hope you continue to listen to it It's great that you also get to discover bands branching from the different guests Arjen uses, some of them I've seen you know already This is a great introduction but i'm sure people will keep suggesting the live shows that they have been doing every 2 years or so which are amazing to experience Ayreon Universe is the "best of", start with any song from that and you are good Since you were rightfully impressed by Michael Mills, I'd recommend the live performance from Ayreon Universe "The Theory of Everything" featuring him and Marcela Bovio
If not already familiar, welcome to prog rock/metal! An incredible mix classical instruments like flute/cello/violin/keys along with phenomenal vocals and interesting arrangements paired up with the usual hard rock foundation. It doesn't get any better. ... Not sure how well acquainted you are with the genre, but I sincerely hope you enjoy getting to know it more fully..... Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Savatage, TSO, Edguy, Avantasia, Shadow Gallery, Eternity X, Pain of Salvation, Sonata Arctica, Theocracy, Stratovarius, Kamelot, Threshold, Spock's Beard, Rush, Yes, Jethro Tull, Kansas, ELO, Alan Parsons Project.... The list goes on!
Although Floor's surprise performance is always a highlight, you're not wrong that Michael Mills' part was the most impressive part. They recently released a live version, and that part is pretty amazing live too! Can't wait for you to discover Floor's sister, Irene, too. She's in most of the live performances, and also performed a bit with Floor on her recent solo shows. She's also a killer singer, though she doesn't share Floor's passion for touring, so she stays pretty close to home (which is also home for Ayreon's mastermind Arjen, so that works out).
Great reaction! For somebody who lived under a rock musically you have an excellent ear for quality. Everybody dies or the eye of Ra (both live) could be your next experience. I'm looking forward for the next one.
You’re about to fall into a big rabbit hole and you’ll never want to climb out of it again. Ayreon is the man project by musical genius Arjen Lucassen. Other projects are: Star One Stream of passion The gentle storm All worthwhile to visit in the future. For now, have a look at the two epic live concerts after this reaction. Ayreon universe live. A ‘the best of’ live concert: the first one ever. The electric castle live and other tales. Listen to this concert in order of songs to understand the story. The human equation. The combination of metal with classical instruments and themes is called symphonic metal.
Yes, Mike Mills is amazing! I would love to see you react to his band Toehider. He covers a wide range of styles: the live versions of “Whatever makes you feel superior” or “How do ghosts work” are good introductions to the heavier end of his work, while “wellgivit” is poppier and “Not much of a man” is a more serious acoustic number.
Ayreon never goes on tour. However, every couple of years Arjen Lucassen does go live in the Netherlands where he lives, people attending from all over the world. This is what you can find outside mainstream.
The newly released live video is amazing also. A couple of the vocalists and instrumentalists from this video as well as some more amazing artists with a little heavier sound to it
If you like LaBries voice I'd start with Breaking All Illusions. Imo this song summarizes DT the best, even if Octavarium might be their best song, but it's 24 minutes long (and pays hommage to a lot of influences in the Prog genre, especially Pink Floyd)
Ayreon's music is such a wonderful rabbit hole to fall down. I'd suggest a couple of tracks to try: 'Into the Black Hole' live from Ayreon Universe ( th-cam.com/video/LIvnxsb83No/w-d-xo.html ) and 'Intergalactic Space Cusaders, again a live track from Ayreon Universe ( th-cam.com/video/yO6TisCHGhA/w-d-xo.html ). Both are outstanding and you're sure to enjoy. If you feel you're ready, them there's always 'Everybody Dies' ( th-cam.com/video/9AAXtUdM7xE/w-d-xo.html ) which could blow your socks off! Plan B might be 'Isis and Osiris' ( th-cam.com/video/Z6YFbgMzkZY/w-d-xo.html ). Enjoy!
More Ayreon! Please react to all the songs on Ayreon Universe concert! And he's releasing more from the new concert too. But Universe is so damn fantastic. I rewatch it over and over.
Very nice! Ayreon (and Arjens other projects as well) are basically the champions league of metal/rock. The best vocalists and instrumentalists from all over the world come together but unlike football they don't play against each other but instead are working together to create art.
Get ready! Nightwish, where Floor is, just announced an album release for September, you will have 12 songs to react to :D On Ayreon... you HAVE to do everybody dies live (also from the same album), valley of the queens live (you will drop seriously) and star of sirrah live. GO FOR IT!
Since you seemed to love Tommy Karevik's vocals maybe check out Kamelot. Liar Liar or Sacrimony (live version) are my recommendations, both have great guest artists that leads you further in your metal journey.
😻🤔 I don't know if it's the hair & sultry eyes but you remind me of French acctress Carole Bouquet in 1981's movie "For Your Eyes Only" (James Bond), all you need is a crossbow 😊. Great reaction, it's nice to see someone recognize other singers besides Floor & appreciate this masterpiece.✌🤙🤙
A little bit of something from the 1980s that kind of pioneered certain aspects about mixing and blending musical traditions a bit is "Celtic Frost: Rex Irae". Rather different than this one on many levels, obviously much older, and probably more underground in a few different ways too. Still, a tune worth a listen.
Hello Stacy. You asked why you tear-up when listening to David Gilmour’s voice and guitar. Well, it’s because he’s a Piscean (March 6th). Pisces is the sign of transcendence. Gilmour may not know it, but as a (salvific) Piscean, he is striving to get back to the higher heaven realms and, if he can, take his audience with him. Piscean are typically shy and it’s difficult for express themselves verbally, so David lets his guitar speak for him. This is especially true in songs like “On the Turning Away,” and “Comfortably Numb.” At the other end of their shared astrological axis is Roger Waters (Sept 6th), the hypercritical Virgoan, anti-war activist, and still furious about the loss of his father druing the last war. Listen to his “Gunner’s Dream,” with its trademark Waters sax transition: th-cam.com/video/7I1OBnNtvx0/w-d-xo.html. Neither Gilmour nor Waters understands their personal creative dynamic, but it was at the heart of their songwriting success. Neither has been the same since Pink Floyd split up in 2006. After that, Waters brought Jeff Beck in, for those spine-tingling solos: a good exaple being “What God Wants” th-cam.com/video/YRWRRBX3TB0/w-d-xo.html
Into the Electric Castle is my favourite of the Ayreon albums and a definite recommend to check out. Arjen has a side project called Star One where all the songs are about sci-fi/fantasy movies and books
Stacey, the singer with the raspy voice is Russell Allen. He is the leadsinger of Symphony X. You should check them out! :) By the way, i love this reaction!
Welcome to the rabbit hole of Arjens rock universe, you have started with the right song, but it continiue, and its only an part of what Floor has done with Arjen,he have this possibillity to collect so many talents, and all of them enjoy each others,so the next Ayreon must be something live
Wow - glad to see Ayreon getting airplay, am chuffed that thousands of people also recommending Arjen's work. Here is a superb full album of his, my introduction to Aryeon // Arjen th-cam.com/video/r-gUom7IphE/w-d-xo.html 1h30 Ayreon - The Theory of Everything (Album Lyric Video) by Taycott (www.youtube.com/@TAYLOR22211) 320,814 views Jun 29, 2017 Full-length lyric video for Ayreon's album, "The Theory of Everything". Includes character highlights and story information.
so basically you now have music for years to cover if you want to dive into each sisngers history. Especially because MR Sammet of Avantasia did the same thing with multiple singers but not so proggy. Still also highly recommended stuff!
Hi Stacey. Nice reaction as always👍. Since you like learning, check Dianne featuring Arjen, in "A Symphonic tragedy", released two months ago🔝. Cheers from Greece!
Prog metal is interesting, and maybe a logical "progression" (pun intended) from symphonic metal...not sure if u know Rush, Yes, or Muse, but likely will enjoy them
Hi! Yes, I’m at it again with these Aussies 😊 This one really does deserve a reaction. Another amazing piece of art from Teramaze! Taken from the upcoming concept album called ELI: An Amazing Fall From Grace (will be out in two weeks or so). The album has already gotten 10 out of 10 in at least two online reviews and I think I actually also saw a 20/20 somewhere. This is the second single from this album I think it’s got everything a great prog metal song should have. Heavy riffs, great solos, amazing vocals, beautiful keyboards and I just love the sound of the drums of this one. So please have a go at this one. If you don’t appreciate it I don’t know what’s wrong with you 😊 th-cam.com/video/wsUb_cM64vw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UBDPCTU9pBVax4_R
All these different singers recorded their parts in their own hometown in their own country because it was during C19 pandemic time. Arjen Lucassen put them all together in his gigantic project. This is the result
Stacey--loved your reactions and appreciation for the artists, their instruments, and they brilliant composition of this piece. While it's on your mind, I think you would really enjoy hearing and seeing "Everybody Dies" with several of the same performers, (vocal and instrumental) and some great new ones as well. That is in front of a live audience. Thanks again for your deep appreciation for good music. Here's the TH-cam link to it: th-cam.com/video/9AAXtUdM7xE/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUURXZlcnlib2R5IGRpZXMgQXJqZW4%3D
If you like this, you might like Mike Mills(ToeHider) and Ross Jennings(Haken) vocals on Arjen's other project band "Star One"' The song is "Prescient" off the CD "Revel in Time"!

No wonder it sounds like Dream theatre.
LoL I love your NIGHTWISH reactions it's so nice seeing somebody react to the bands and songs you love.thank you so very much.💚💚💚💚💚💚
What ever happened to Pagan's Mind? They haven't put out anything since 2011, I believe. Nils K Rue has an awesome range.
"Everybody dies" live version would be a great next song. As someone who discovered Ayreon through YT reactions I am enjoying this so much! Thanks Stacey!
I Concur
And.. It shows an early Maggy Luijten, quite different from the lovely voice she did as the Prophet, In those days her voice was total grit.
i concur 😉
"Intergalactic space crusader" after that 😉
Fun fact on the live shows Floors sister is one of the vocalists, she is a pretty damn good singer as well
Irene ❤
One of Ayreon's Angels.
The binary code means "Trust TH-1"
I also call this song : "The song that exploded my music world"!!!!
The singers in order of appearance are:
James LaBrie from Dream Theater
Tommy Karevik from Kamelot, Seventh Wonder
Tommy Rogers from Between the Buried and Me
Simone Simons from th most epic Epica
Nils K. Rue from Pagan's Mind and Eidolon
Tobias Sammet from Edguy and here mentioned Avantasia
Hansi Kürsch the „Bard from Walhalla“ from Blind Guardian
Mike Mills playing a computer and singing binary from Toehider
Russell Allen from Symphony X
Michael Eriksen from Circus Maximus
and last but not least the incredible Valkyrie Goddess Floor Jansen from Nightwish
NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA 🤘😎🤘
NOT a band, Ayreon is a project by musical genius Arjen Lucassen, he uses different vocalist for each part of his space operas
Thank you for the clarification!
Well said

I concur
Can't wait she's discovering the other Jansen sibling ... and Anneke, Marcela, ...
I concur as well.
So glad to see Ayreon getting more exposure. I've been listening to them for 20ish years and even have it tatted on my arm. Rock on
Arjen just released a live version of this which is phenomenal 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I think it is 3 of the original singers in it. Including Michael Mills.
It’s EPIC!
@@swedishgooner6339It really is 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@bazkeen Yeah! Even if it’s a few diffrent singer in that version. They all do a great job! Everyone’s happy except the one paying the electrical bill 😂
Yeah, Stacey should react to it asap, to have a comparison and to dig how brilliant this is .
@@swedishgooner6339 😂😂😂
"What is THAT?"
That's a Leslie speaker. It features a set of rotating speaker horns that gives a wobbling effect to the sound
I agreed, rock music with Hammond organ, before synths were common, was a great sound
@@ecbftl Was? Is! And allways will sound great...
More Ayreon with Queen Floor singing?
Check out the beautiful live version of the Valley of the Queens,
where Floor joins 2 other Queens to sing of their ultimate destination in the Egyptian valley of the queens.
AND meet Anneke van Giersbergen, an Ayreon regular.
Two Queens and the Queen Mother Anneke
The binair zero ones means: TRUST TH1 (Mike Mills as the robot), The tall guy is the man himself Arjen Anthony Lucassen playing the guitar, bass, synthersyzer and Hammond. They did play this song live already worth looking at that one too
Great reaction to this amazing piece of music! On a side note, the new Nightwish album is releasing on September 20th and the single, "perfume of the timeless", is releasing on may 21st!!
Perfect timing on this upload! Love your content ❤
awww thank you
Ayreon “The Human Equation” is my favorite rock opera of all time!
It was mine but 01011001 has grown on me and may have taken over it
Wonderful to see Arjen getting some acknowledgment - I've been suggesting him for a long time, looking forward to getting back to listen to this review very soon.
Excellent reaction. I love your reactions and content. Greetings from Chile
My first time hearing this great song.Thank you Stacy for another great reaction. Keep up the great work.
Back in the 80s Arjen was in the Dutch Band VENGEANCE. Check out "Arabia"
There are certain songs that are must reacts for all content creators and this is one of them. Was so pumped to see you check it out.
This was great fun. It's a pure joy to listen to music with you. Thank you and cheers from a finn in Sweden.❤
And it was awesome! This is so complex, then to perform it live to that high standard... 😳🤘
Who is Nils Gildenlow ? it's Daniel Gildenlow 😉
@@mandje2002 Sorry, you're right. I mixed him up.
That live video is so amazing, especially when Anneke steps on stage.

Ayreon is one of Arjen's ongoing music projects.
Gracias por el video, adoro Ayreon tengo el álbum Into the Electric Castle desde el 98 , A.Lucassen hace unas reuniones y unos temas impresionantes
Age of shadows by ayreon is probably one of my all time favorite songs
Ayreon is like an audiobook series on steroids. Perfect bedtime stories to close your eyes to and letting the music build a universe out of wiggly air. Enjoy the ride! This was just chapter one :)
If you want a full orchestra in the background and bagpipes and hurdy gurdy and Hansi Kürsch, go check out: Saltatio Mortis x Blind Guardian (& the Prague symphonic orchestra) - Finsterwacht
Oh and by the way you will also get the most storytelling video of the year 2024.
One of my favorites from the series.
Now you have to listen to Ayreon - Everybody dies (Live) to see how they all pull it off live.
Ayreon Live is great also...love youre reaction ❤
Arjen and Ayreon is a great deep dive :)
They actually managed to pull this off live in 2023, it's on Arjen own youtube channel. Those live concerts are really something else. Looking forward to September 2025!
Hansi Kürsch from Blind Guardian, i think youd love the Bard's Song/Valhalla clip. Its live and a massive crowd. Fun stuff!
This project has been a journey for me, I hope you continue to listen to it
It's great that you also get to discover bands branching from the different guests Arjen uses, some of them I've seen you know already
This is a great introduction but i'm sure people will keep suggesting the live shows that they have been doing every 2 years or so which are amazing to experience
Ayreon Universe is the "best of", start with any song from that and you are good
Since you were rightfully impressed by Michael Mills, I'd recommend the live performance from Ayreon Universe "The Theory of Everything" featuring him and Marcela Bovio
Other projects are:
Star One
Stream of passion
The gentle storm
All worthwhile to visit in the future.
This is a band I only know by name but have never listened to... good . Love from Venice Italy Stacey!🥰
Enjoy!
Plan B ?? you mean Plan Nine 😂😉
@@mandje2002 Well ... perhaps 😜
More Ayreon! Please react to all the songs on Ayreon Universe concert! And he's releasing more from the new concert too. But Universe is so damn fantastic. I rewatch it over and over.
The entire album is wonderful. I'll often put it on while I do some work in my woodshop.
This is especially true in songs like “On the Turning Away,” and “Comfortably Numb.”
At the other end of their shared astrological axis is Roger Waters (Sept 6th), the hypercritical Virgoan, anti-war activist, and still furious about the loss of his father druing the last war.
Great reaction to a great song 👍🎶
James Labrie vocals on Dream Theater - Octavarium Live 2006 with full Orchestra.
Great Choice ! Great Reaction ! I think Kamelot will impress you as well !
A good suggestion for a next Ayreon reaction is Everybody dies.

Full-length lyric video for Ayreon's album, "The Theory of Everything".
Includes character highlights and story information.
The sixth extiction and Isis and Osiris are great songs
I can’t believe you Rick Roll’d us at the end of this, lol 😂
so basically you now have music for years to cover if you want to dive into each sisngers history.
The fact that Arjen Lucassen, can get these singers and musicians to collaborate on an album project, under the Ayreon name.
Prog metal is interesting, and maybe a logical "progression" (pun intended) from symphonic metal...not sure if u know Rush, Yes, or Muse, but likely will enjoy them
Hi!
Yes, I’m at it again with these Aussies 😊
This one really does deserve a reaction.
If you don’t appreciate it I don’t know what’s wrong with you 😊

finally Ayreon ... had waited for this ...... next: porcupine tree and if you like James LaBrie: Dream Theater
Next song, highly recommended, "Everybody Dies". Love your delightful reactions. Grt job. Thx.✌🏻
Projects or albums with vocalists playing a character, for instance: Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds, and there are more.
All these different singers recorded their parts in their own hometown in their own country because it was during C19 pandemic time. Arjen Lucassen put them all together in his gigantic project. This is the result
Not entirely true, a few recorded their parts in Arjen's studio, like Floor or Simone did.
Nice reaction. My suggestion: "Into the Black Hole" - Ayreon feat. Bruce Dickinson
Seconded...it's maybe the best piece ever by Ayreon
Stacey--loved your reactions and appreciation for the artists, their instruments, and they brilliant composition of this piece. While it's on your mind, I think you would really enjoy hearing and seeing "Everybody Dies" with several of the same performers, (vocal and instrumental) and some great new ones as well. That is in front of a live audience. Thanks again for your deep appreciation for good music.

Great reaction, Stacey!
You need to see the live version💪🏼
If you liked Tommy Karevik, that swede is the lead singer in Kamelot. Pretty amazing band 👍👍👍
Love that band!
You'll have to check out Kamelot and more Tommy Karevik. Kamelot - Under Grey Skies (live) is a good one.
instrumentals is arjen tall guy shy though
arjen=aryeon
If you like this, you might like Mike Mills(ToeHider) and Ross Jennings(Haken) vocals on Arjen's other project band "Star One"' The song is "Prescient" off the CD "Revel in Time"!
