AnthonyTH-camFan all of his unreleased track's rights were given by MJ to his children. So they decide when and what release. (I think so, I'm not sure)
Adriano Marchi -- You may be right, but, I thought Sony/Epic retained exclusive release rights for any of his unreleased tracks from the vault from 2007 to 2019, or some time period like that. Do those kids really have a say in when that material gets released? I think it may be after that 10 to 15 year time span that the power may revert back to the children and Mrs. Jackson, who is the Executor of his Estate (I think). This may explain why the Cascio tracks didn't get a full release, because they weren't happy w/ how Sony "altered" the raw recordings, and, supposedly, the complete/demo tracks were owned between MJ, The Cascios, and James Porte, so, Sony/Epic has no say. What happens in the next year or so may determine if Our hunches are correct.

I actually put it on my vice city app lol, what I did is I downloaded this on my computer using a youtube to mp3 converter, it goes into itunes, you sync your itunes to your phone, and then the vice city app has an option to make your own playlist and you can add whatever songs you want onto an additional radio station, it's awesome
From what I heard, I don't remember where I heard this but when mj found out they had to shorten Billie Jean due to the long length not being able to fit on the album on vinly, he was really sad about it, I believe they could have added more songs onto the album if that was never the problem

It would've been a perfect midway point between Thriller and Bad: 1. Hot Street 2. State of Shock 3. Nite Line 4. We Are Here to Change the World 5. We Are the World 6. Carousel 7. Got the Hots 8. Behind the Mask 9. She's Trouble There you go. A nine track album that perfectly fits in with Michael's 1980s discography.
It would have made more sense to relase them a few months or a year after Thriller, so as to have them while Thriller was still being absorbed and digested. Kind of like the dessert after the main meal.

If i can say anything about the Thriller 40 as MJ lifelong fan, it's truly disappointing. I don't think that's what MJ wants for his 40th Anniversary of his biggest selling album. At this point I really don't know what the hell the estate is doing with Michael's legacy. The Thriller 25th Anniversary album was amazing excluding YE's mix of Billie Jean. As a fan, I was expecting more unreleased songs especially Hot Street. And I was expecting a collaboration too. 40th Anniversary Thriller with hit single, Hot Street (Featuring The Weeknd). Cause that would've been fire. But they dropped the ball again just like the Michael album (2010) and Scream (2017) album. Bad 25th (2012) was awesome. I can't say Xscape album (2014) was that bad cause at least there was a hit single coming out of there (Love Never Felt So Good (Featuring Justin Timberlake)). They also dropped the ball on what could've been great. A Dangerous 30 album last year. Again, I'm totally disappointed.

I understand why this song didn’t make Thriller; it had nothing to do with the song itself but more of the direction they wanted the album to go. This doesn’t scream spooky at all. This is more of a party vibe/feel good anthem. Still a great song tho! Unfortunately when you’re signed by a major record label, you have to put out the music they want instead of the music you want! When MJ gained creative control and bought back the rights to all his music/catalog plus some, that’s when they started messin wit him and eventually got rid of him!

People getting mad at Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton for excluding this from Thriller as if they aren't musical geniuses too, MJ doesn't have final say, and the album isn't already filled with masterpieces smh. MJ did say how much he liked Hot Street many times yet it was still excluded from the 2001 special edition and Thriller 25, in which MJ was heavily involved as a producer, so he clearly had his own reasons for never releasing it. As for Thriller 40, no one knows for sure why it's not on it. Maybe his estate's following his wishes or maybe they think it's too good and should be saved for something else, which is stingy af. All I know is that if Thriller 50 comes around and it's not on it, that'd be an even huger missed opportunity. Several 50th anniversary editions of Beatles albums have near-comprehensive collections of all masters recorded during those sessions. Thriller 50 needs at least the best take of every song from the Thriller sessions or what's the point?

I can see why they didn’t put it in the album, BUT it’s a FANTASTIC song!!! I’m not just a Mike fan I used to be obsessed with Mike so I have studied his albums religiously. This didn’t fit the rhythm nor would it had complimented the the other songs on thriller that were stronger, cleaner and quite frankly produced better. With that being said I’m sure if they would’ve cleared it they might’ve cleaned it up a bit to make it sound more polished and changed up a little bit of the instrumentals to give it a more richer sound. But you have to understand when Mike set out to do thriller he didn’t just want catchy he wanted GROUNDBREAKING!!! Which is why it’s STILL the untouchable album of all time! Now this song would’ve fit PERFECTLY on off the wall! Because it would’ve kept up with all the faster songs. But I need this song to be made available to purchase

If i can say anything about the Thriller 40 as MJ lifelong fan, it's truly disappointing. I don't think that's what MJ wants for his 40th Anniversary of his biggest selling album. At this point I really don't know what the hell the estate is doing with Michael's legacy. The Thriller 25th Anniversary album was amazing excluding YE's mix of Billie Jean. As a fan, I was expecting more unreleased songs especially Hot Street. And I was expecting a collaboration too. 40th Anniversary Thriller with hit single, Hot Street (Featuring The Weeknd). Cause that would've been fire. But they dropped the ball again just like the Michael album (2010) and Scream (2017) album. Bad 25th (2012) was awesome. I can't say Xscape album (2014) was that bad cause at least there was a hit single coming out of there (Love Never Felt So Good (Featuring Justin Timberlake)). They also dropped the ball on what could've been great. A Dangerous 30 album last year. Again, I'm totally disappointed.

I understand why this song didn’t make Thriller; it had nothing to do with the song itself but more of the direction they wanted the album to go. This doesn’t scream spooky at all. This is more of a party vibe/feel good anthem. Still a great song tho! Unfortunately when you’re signed by a major record label, you have to put out the music they want instead of the music you want! When MJ gained creative control and bought back the rights to all his music/catalog plus some, that’s when they started messin wit him and eventually got rid of him!

People getting mad at Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton for excluding this from Thriller as if they aren't musical geniuses too, MJ doesn't have final say, and the album isn't already filled with masterpieces smh. MJ did say how much he liked Hot Street many times yet it was still excluded from the 2001 special edition and Thriller 25, in which MJ was heavily involved as a producer, so he clearly had his own reasons for never releasing it. As for Thriller 40, no one knows for sure why it's not on it. Maybe his estate's following his wishes or maybe they think it's too good and should be saved for something else, which is stingy af. All I know is that if Thriller 50 comes around and it's not on it, that'd be an even huger missed opportunity. Several 50th anniversary editions of Beatles albums have near-comprehensive collections of all masters recorded during those sessions. Thriller 50 needs at least the best take of every song from the Thriller sessions or what's the point?

I can see why they didn’t put it in the album, BUT it’s a FANTASTIC song!!! I’m not just a Mike fan I used to be obsessed with Mike so I have studied his albums religiously. This didn’t fit the rhythm nor would it had complimented the the other songs on thriller that were stronger, cleaner and quite frankly produced better. With that being said I’m sure if they would’ve cleared it they might’ve cleaned it up a bit to make it sound more polished and changed up a little bit of the instrumentals to give it a more richer sound. But you have to understand when Mike set out to do thriller he didn’t just want catchy he wanted GROUNDBREAKING!!! Which is why it’s STILL the untouchable album of all time! Now this song would’ve fit PERFECTLY on off the wall! Because it would’ve kept up with all the faster songs. But I need this song to be made available to purchase
