As a man, I’m expected to “deal” with a women and all her baggage (divorced,kids,debt) and yet they walk around with the entitlement that they deserve 6 foot, 6 figure income, 6 inch plus unit and 6 car garage all the while saying that same man should take care of her 3 kids from different baby daddies and her debt. I’m a woman, and I completely agree with that conclusion. My only standards for a man being of dating potential were: Good Hygiene A job Seems nice My standards for a life partner were a few more items, but things you might not know before a first date. Basic compatibility in things like… want or don’t want kids, and how you would parent if so, etc. Some common interests. The same kindness and patience that I would give in return. I certainly would have rather lived alone and in peace, than in an abusive relationship. (What these women bring to the table would certainly feel abusive to your mental health, at the very least.) Alone and happy is better than with someone and in the kind chaotic nightmare that these women would bring. These bizarre expectations that are common today, are obviously a product of modern society egged on by social media. If I were a man, I would absolutely choose to do without, rather than saddle myself with some selfish crazy woman who had no real appreciation of me as a person. I got lucky and found a wonderful man and I have been blessed with a peaceful and happy household. I can’t imagine ever trading that for more money or any of the other things on their lists. There are still good women out there. Ones that wise up after they grow up. Teens are very susceptible to the things that social media fills their heads with, but I wasn’t too brilliant as a teen either. (Though I will say that I still only wanted a good man, not a rich man). I hope you find a woman who will love you because you are a good man, but you are absolutely right not to make the mistake of choosing a woman who wants it all but doesn’t offer much in return. The key to not getting fooled by a greedy, lazy and selfish person, is time. They can fake being unselfish, kind and patient for a while, but not too long. She's not lying. My mother has this level of delusion. My entire life she tried to mold me into the kind of man she would marry. This is a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people, myself included, but what you say is necessary. I had a similar experience with my mother as a single parent trying to mold me into a "better version" of my father and constantly trying to disqualify or change women I dated because they weren't "good enough" all the way up until I was 29. It messed me up for years in so many aspects of life but, once I let go of the mythologized view of women and gave up the misguided hoping, I was able to pull myself out of the abyss and regain control of my life. On top of that, thanks to the tutelage of Patrice O'Neal and many others, including Kevin, I have successfully broken a lot of my mother's delusions and she is now in a much better place and actively seeking therapy. A lot of people look at this "giving up hope" concept as a death sentence but it's actually more like removing a straight jacket. Don't hope for a damn thing, hope is for Disney movies, put the work in for yourself and make anyone who wants to share your time and success earn their place at your table. If you're reading this and you're in a similar spot, don't be afraid to take off your straight jacket and go live your life.

When I was going through therapy for PTSD and severe postpartum depression my therapist was amongst those who spread toxic info. My postpartum issues did stem a lot from my husband and every time we’d get to that topic she’d just tell me to leave him and that divorce was always an option. Now, almost 3 years later my husband and I have such an amazing relationship, about to have our second child, I’ve overcome PTSD and depression( thanks Jordan Peterson). Point is, you’re right and if I stayed seeing her and actually took her advice I would’ve been a divorced woman with a child and probably more depressed or worse.

As a man, I’m expected to “deal” with a women and all her baggage (divorced,kids,debt) and yet they walk around with the entitlement that they deserve 6 foot, 6 figure income, 6 inch plus unit and 6 car garage all the while saying that same man should take care of her 3 kids from different baby daddies and her debt. The peace and quite I enjoy in my own home and the prospect of dying alone is more comforting then knowing I’ll be used up and thrown out by a modern women who is just a professional monkey brancher.

I’m a woman, and I completely agree with that conclusion. My only standards for a man being of dating potential were:
Good Hygiene
A job
Seems nice
My standards for a life partner were a few more items, but things you might not know before a first date.
Basic compatibility in things like… want or don’t want kids, and how you would parent if so, etc.
Some common interests. The same kindness and patience that I would give in return.
I certainly would have rather lived alone and in peace, than in an abusive relationship. (What these women bring to the table would certainly feel abusive to your mental health, at the very least.) Alone and happy is better than with someone and in the kind chaotic nightmare that these women would bring.
These bizarre expectations that are common today, are obviously a product of modern society egged on by social media. If I were a man, I would absolutely choose to do without, rather than saddle myself with some selfish crazy woman who had no real appreciation of me as a person.
I got lucky and found a wonderful man and I have been blessed with a peaceful and happy household. I can’t imagine ever trading that for more money or any of the other things on their lists.
There are still good women out there. Ones that wise up after they grow up. Teens are very susceptible to the things that social media fills their heads with, but I wasn’t too brilliant as a teen either. (Though I will say that I still only wanted a good man, not a rich man).
I hope you find a woman who will love you because you are a good man, but you are absolutely right not to make the mistake of choosing a woman who wants it all but doesn’t offer much in return.
The key to not getting fooled by a greedy, lazy and selfish person, is time. They can fake being unselfish, kind and patient for a while, but not too long. As long as you never move too fast to anything permanent, you will be okay.

She's not lying. My mother has this level of delusion. My entire life she tried to mold me into the kind of man she would marry. When that didn't work she literally tried to insert herself into my wife's life and change her into someone more like herself. Gentlemen give up hope. That way you might end up pleasantly surprised.
This is a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people, myself included, but what you say is necessary. I had a similar experience with my mother as a single parent trying to mold me into a "better version" of my father and constantly trying to disqualify or change women I dated because they weren't "good enough" all the way up until I was 29. It messed me up for years in so many aspects of life but, once I let go of the mythologized view of women and gave up the misguided hoping, I was able to pull myself out of the abyss and regain control of my life. On top of that, thanks to the tutelage of Patrice O'Neal and many others, including Kevin, I have successfully broken a lot of my mother's delusions and she is now in a much better place and actively seeking therapy.
A lot of people look at this "giving up hope" concept as a death sentence but it's actually more like removing a straight jacket. Don't hope for a damn thing, hope is for Disney movies, put the work in for yourself and make anyone who wants to share your time and success earn their place at your table. If you're reading this and you're in a similar spot, don't be afraid to take off your straight jacket and go live your life.

When I was going through therapy for PTSD and severe postpartum depression my therapist was amongst those who spread toxic info. My postpartum issues did stem a lot from my husband and every time we’d get to that topic she’d just tell me to leave him and that divorce was always an option. Now, almost 3 years later my husband and I have such an amazing relationship, about to have our second child, I’ve overcome PTSD and depression( thanks Jordan Peterson).
Point is, you’re right and if I stayed seeing her and actually took her advice I would’ve been a divorced woman with a child and probably more depressed or worse.
