  • The Nissan Qashqai might look like a rugged 4x4, but it's actually one of the best family cars on sale, as Chris Knapman explains.

Disappointly generalised review seriously lacking in detail. He talks about the different engines but makes no mention of the power / mpg differences between them, he talks about CO2 amounts but makes no mention of how much that actually is in road tax etc

I've decided to ditch diesel engines for petrol. Diesel is bad for health and polution even though they are low on emissions. There costs in the long term are expensive and if you chose the correct car and the driving style is economical I cannot see any difference except the torque in the diesel for pulling power.

Learn to drive and buy a manual!

The Maevian I can drive most probably better than you as I have taken professional off road driving courses, and taken part in many off road trials, however as I am disabled I now cant drive a manual.
The best 4X4s in the world are all autos now, so perhaps you need to think about your comment again.

I didn't know you were disabled, sorry if I offended you.
That said, here in europe you can buy most of the best 4x4 with manual transmission if you want to.
