    Cheers for the mention. The other reason the Xpedite also suits me is I am a shorter draw archer and the string angle on the Xpedite puts the string on the nose and corner of the mouth every time. Some longer brace height and ATA bows for me didn’t fit. Fit is very important and the secondary benefit of speed is awesome.

      Hmm, never considered that shorter brace heights are better for shorter draw lengths.

    I bought the NXT 31 (primarily because of your review) and have fitted fwd & rear stabilizers to it and added my own fwd legs to the bow using one of the stabilizer holes. Using a Tru glow single power dot for my site. Still saving up for Boss X release but I am loving this bow (my first true compound) as compared to my $80 SAS siege, LOL 😂. Thanks Steven 👍

    Currently shopping a new hunting bow, shot the NXT 30 and 35 my shop is out of the 33”, the expedite some of the Athens bows and 2 Bears I couldn’t believe for me the draw cycle and shot for me felt the best out of the xpedite and I had no intentions of buying a speed bow again

    The Evo NXT 35 seems to have better balance, nicer draw cycle, being more quieter and having a wider array of available dl. This Expedite has the NXT label but doesn't echo the focus from PSE in the last year on providing a more smooth draw cycle with more parallel limbs and long brace heighs. Waiting to the end of the year to buy my second compound (this time oriented towards 3D) and the NXT 35 seems more appealing, to be honest.

    Hey man, I'm revisiting some of these older reviews as I'm thinking of moving from my Supra Focus to a field bow. My problem is more that I'm a 27" draw and feel like only PSE seem to have decent proved bows that also have short cam variants. I like the look of the Elite Encore, but I would be very mid-cam at the draw stop.
    So I'm a bit torn.
    I wondered if the new 2022 Omen replaces the Expedite... It's looking pretty good but some people have noted a fairly aggressive hump in the draw to get the speeds.
    Maybe I'm over thinking it and mid cam doesn't lose anything significant? It's also rare here to see a shop actually stocking many of these bows now with them seemingly prefer to just take special orders on many models.

    Would be interesting to shoot one for target and field.
    I still don't understand why PSE insist on tapping directly into the back of the riser without providing a helicoil insert... Ive began to wear my thread out 😂.
    Speaking of PSE pricing against other manufacturers. Kinda comes up at my club every now and then. Theres 6 Hoyt Invictas at my club and I cant recommend them to people purely because their price isn't justified when the Supra Focus does the same job, if not better for around 1000 bucks less...

    Nice review, thanks! For 3d, unknown distance, speed is nice, but stability and accuracy always wins. Look at what the top pros shoot in any country really and they tend to shoot either a long target bow at 37-40”, or a ‘fast target’ bow, such as the TRX 36, Perform X 3D, Shootdown etc i.e. still a decent brace height and draw cycle. 3D shot in the woods allows for a light large diameter arrow (little wind) and in the open, the 3DHV is very popular due to low weight and fairly narrow diameter. I switched to a TRx40 for 3D in the uK, which is in the woods. I need a 315gn arrow to get to the 300fps limit, but boy does it shoot well because the bow is so stable, smooth and easy to let down if I have not set up comfortably. Even if we’re shooting WA 3d, with no speed limit, I would still shoot a dedicated target bow, but a faster model, because the benefits of a bow that reliably pounds the X always outweighs the miniscule benefit of 10 or 15 FPS more.

      I've bought the NXT31 but now wish I had bought the NXT33, but at the time the 31 seemed like an heavy bow. I'm a small (now middle aged) person at 5'3". Also my DL is 26ish so the 33 was a gamble (none in store). After considerable shooting/time, I have added a homemade fwd & rear stabilizers (which added a lot of weight😂). Well as Stephen says, "it's now up to the archer",... shooting a camo bow,.. with target style stabilizers.🤣

    • @thomasstanworth
      @thomasstanworth 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Amazing Goldfish once you start hitting gold, all you want to do is hit more. At 5’3” and 26” draw, the 31 probably isn’t bad at all length wise. Well done for making your own stabs - sounds like you’re having a lot of fun!

    Longer limbs store energy over a bigger curve radius. Reduces the overall bending stress on the limbs. In short the chance for a limb failure is smaller and makes for bigger tolerances during manufacturing. It is a win win for customer and manufacture. I don't know about hand shock. I have only felt hand shock when my cams were out of timing. I guess I am not sensitive enough and I shoot my cheap bear cruzer g2 3 days a week 50 shoots per session.

    Steve...Greetings from Idaho Falls Idaho great video... I as well owned a full throttle... having the draw adjust ability on this fast bow is crazy sweet... I bet you have stabilizers on your other bows and I'm sure the wiggle will disappear with a little weight on that bow... I could shoot this bow at 58 lb with my 420 grain hunting arrow (30 in draw) and still be faster than my carbon stealth at 70 lb...I want one

    Why is it that technology seems to have be advancing in Leaps and Bounds with crossbows but not with compounds. Currently we are at 500 fps with crossbows without much difference in technology from a few years ago but compound seems to be lagging behind. I don't see where it should be that difficult to make a bow that shoots 350 fps and is Pleasant to shoot

      @@izzyfish5929 I have no fucking clue what any of that means tbh. I'm a new recurve archer, and I'm only getting a compound after a couple months. The club I applied for still hasn't sent me the papers to get into the club, so I'm just sitting here waiting for the email. If I buy a compound I want to get nice accessories with it that I can put on an Invicta or something, which is kinda expensive, and I can't justify spending that money yet. You could shoot this bow at 55 lb in a 30-inch draw and be faster than most 70 lb bows... that's amazing... plus you could cut an inch off your arrows easy

  • @michaelrobinson6988
    @michaelrobinson6988 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The bow shaking or twitching on target at full draw has nothing to do with the brace height, that would be the geometry of the bow. The forgiveness when brace height is concerned had to do with how fast the arrow gets off the string when the shot takes place. The larger the brace height, the faster the arrow gets off the string when the bow is shot. That’s why bows with small brace heights are most generally faster, the arrow will stay on the string and have more energy transferred to the arrow on a bow with 5-1/2” brace height than it will with a bow with a 7” brace height. The 7” brace height bow will be more forgiving because you have less time to make human errors once the bow is shot to the time it takes the arrow to get off the string. It may be milliseconds between the two, but a lot can happen in that millisecond. I’d say if the bow is shaking or twitching at full draw, you prob need to add a stabilizer and some weight to it.
    Love the videos Steven. Keep them coming sir.
