Thank you for making this video. I ride this trail nearly every day of my life, and have for years. It’s a gem and still not that heavily traveled. Just discovered your channel, and I appreciate it very much…
I just discovered your channel while researching the Mountains To Sea Bikeways. I also happen to live at the west end of the SLR trail. This is a great overview of the SLR trail. I ride it several times a week and thank you for including the dirt extension in to Guajome Lake Park. A lot of people have no idea that the dirt extension trail and tunnel under Hwy 76 even exist. I’m glad I stumbled upon your channel.
I'm glad you found the channel! the SLR is a personal favorite of mine. That's so cool you live right next to it! Lucky! I hope to release more videos across SD later on :)
I am just moving to the area. Some trail of which I do not know what it is -located behind my back yard. This video makes me so happy to know what is out there to explore. Thank you.
Just did this one. Crazy traffic and drive so yeah, get out early. Really pretty ride. Reminds me of Irvine and a little of Ojai. Would definitely do this again.
Glad you got out there early! Weekday traffic can be crazy heading down from outside SD but worthwhile! Next time maybe try catching the train? Thanks for commenting about your experience!
I’ve ridden this path for about 8 years, and the number of e-bike riders have increased dramatically, many riding at speeds that are dangerous. Don’t ride tandem (side by side) and crowd oncoming riders, a collision could send you over a steep rock lined embankment. Be prepared for homeless people on the path.

It absolutely is a gem! Thanks for the comment Roy!
Very helpful. I appreciate the recommendation to use the trains.

Thanks for this awesome video. I have a family member who lives near the terminus of this trail. I’ve been meaning to take my bike down to try it.
Thanks for watching! I hope you make it there!

Brilliant vid as always
Once some crackhead pulled a gun on me where the trail runs under the freeway

Camp Pendleton is USMC, not US Army.
Thanks! I’ll see what I can do to make that correction.
