What’s the little tool you are using to pull the hair…she looks amazing by the way. I payed for a hand strip for my dog, but he didn’t come back like the ones I’ve watched on utube so I’m wondering how much stripping if any they actually did, and it wasn’t cheap.
Hi! Not sure which one you're asking about but at the start I'm using a shipping stone and later using a stripping knife (the metal tool with the wooden handle. Hand stripping is a LOT of work so won't be cheap, you also have to be very regular to see a real difference in maintaining a "proper" coat. One to the reasons I did these videos many years back is because there weren't many groomers in the area who could hand strip nor clients willing to pay or be regular so I taught a lot how to do it themselves... they either did very well or learned how to be more appreciative of their groomers! Good luck with either option!
Please subscribe to the channel and you will be able to see part 1 and Part 3 of this series, I cover the tools in the videos and explain how to choose. There are so many, everyone has their favourites but I would definitely start with a coat king or coat king type for sure
I have a border terrier which I want to groom. Please advice me on the types of tools I need and where to buy them. I enjoy your video keep up the good work. Jane
Glad you enjoyed it. Please watch part 1 and part 3 as all the tools are also covered. Any professional grooming supply house will have hand stripping tools for sale and we still have some at dogsofpride.com too.
What is the brand & info for ordering stripping knife? I have a spinone .. I have several knives, specifically wanting one for face, ears and fine works.
Hi Dan - Mars is the brand I used for years (I don't groom anymore) but there are tons of brands out there and all will have one for face. I'm sure it would come up in a google search for you. Happy Stripping!
@@al-rm1nv Aw, thank you - watch some more recent videos on this channel and you'll see me talk about it and what I do now! Still helping, just in other ways
@@dogsofpride1574 I will watch them. I have two Cocker spaniels. I see conflicting articles on whether Spaniels can be stripped using the same techniques as that of terriers.
Wow you are amazing , dog looks beautiful. I have an Airedale , much to learn about their coat .
Aw thank you, just love the breed, I do love Airedales too though - one of the first people I gave tips to at a show, won BIS that weekend!

Can you do a video with an english cocker spaniel?
Hi - sorry, no. These are a few years old now and I had to retire from grooming due to Lyme disease. Thanks for watching though.
@@dogsofpride1574 Sorry to hear that. I hope you are back to good health again.

@@al-rm1nv Oh yes, it's the same technique, just obviously a much different pattern, therefore you don't strip them right back!
