My first was a craftsman 2x42 with a 1/2 horse motor. My second was a 2x42 craftsman with a 1 horse motor. That 1/2 horse was a smooth little grinder. When I seen this it reminded me of that old 1/2 horse I was seriously thinking about getting one.

Sounds just like the buck tool. Nice though! Removing that guard now you can add scotchbrite belts.

Just ordered the bucktool 2x42 after 2 faulty grizzly “knife making” 2x42’s lol had a stockpile of belts so figured I’d go with another so I don’t have to throw out all my belts 😂🎉😅

Thanks for the review. After watching I went ahead and purchased the Palmgrem, I am just getting started and it will be a hobby for me. Anyway was wondering if you ever found a way to fix the belt tension?

I found out that the belts I am using are just slightly bigger than 42”. So they can’t be as tight as I like. But it also helped that I recently added a hardened steel plate to my stock platen. Gave it some extra tension.

Thank You for the reply. It does look like the platen could use a little beefing up. Thanks again for your insight.

I just got rid of a well used grizzly 42” and I’m looking for another 42”. Is this one still doing good for you?

You got rid of the grizzly 42?? I thought that thing was supposed to be great

@@drey4184 it was a bad purchase. The motor had been replaced with an aftermarket, and the whole thing was out of balance. Very loud. I’m still looking.

@@johnnygsdiy1981 the Palmgren was a bad purchase? I seen a review on here of a guy saying he heard of some motors needing replaced on the Grizzly. I’m following this because I just put my order in for the Grizzly 42, won’t be here until March.

No the used grizzly was a bad purchase. I’m sure the new one are good to go.

It’s still doing beautiful. Just used it today (technically yesterday) and it works beautifully. They are relatively cheap on Amazon too. At least they were when I bought mine.
