Almost had the achievement, got to the sword base atrium and everything was going well, then a friendly chucks a frag that goes off right behind me. Sounds about right
I just gave a trooper a rocket launcher, had Kat on the gun, and farmed the endless phantoms, was expecting you to do the same but cool to see other completionists work Edit: drove the warthog, you get all the points from both kills
The base where you turn on the AA gun when the gun is off-line a phantom will spawn so the gun has something to shoot when it turns on ....... if that phantom is destroyed early when the gun is still off another phantom will spawn and fly to the location Turning on gun disables that phantom respawn
How did you get more ammo for the target designator? After I use up the two shots at the beginning of the mission, it doesn't reload, making the AA gun objective much harder to do quickly.
On Normal you get more shots for it as you progress to each objective. 2 initially, 2 more when you get to the AA guns and 2 more when you get to the comms array. Legendary you only get the first 2 shots though.
@@HaloCompletionist Yeah, I just figured it out. I was playing on Heroic for the extra score multiplier, but I forgot how bloodthirsty the Covenant in this game are. I ended up dying more often and wasting more time, making Heroic not worth it. I'll stick to Normal from here on. As a side note, I really dislike how par score is tied to par time. Par time is about going fast and skipping as much fights as possible, whereas par score should be about killing everything as efficiently as possible-two different playstyles. Instead it's the same for both, just rush through the missions as fast as possible. What is this, a 90s arcade machine?
Great guide as always. I scored 41,000 and didn't get the achievement though. Do you know of any reason why it hasn't accepted my score? Kind regards, Adam :)
Yeah I did most of them on heroic & some of the tougher ones on normal. I retried it and it gave it me so guess just a glitch, sometimes they just don't pop, happened to me a few times along the way to getting every par time & score across all the halos. There's loads of random ones on mcc that still just haven't popped for me, esp reach. Like hijack a banshee, done that a million times never got the achievement for it. Kill the hunters with sticky detonator done that loads on all difficulties, some just don't pop sometimes it sucks
I tried, doesn't work well due to the partial ceiling. Like half of the strikes miss and it doesn't kill the elites or phantom. That was on Legendary though, maybe it'd work better on normal.
wouldn't worry too much about the season ending cause they have said that the old seasons will still be able be completed even if new seasons comes out.
@@IndieLambda that will extend to all games, at least that's what i understood how the pc version will work. You will get season points in each game every time you level up, and then you can choose which seasons you want to spend it on. This is just the beginning tho cause pc players still need to wait to get all games in chronological order.
This guide doesn't work for me, Its got nothing to do with the quality of the guide. It has to do with the game itself. I'm the first to admit i'm kinda shit at the game but it doesn't help when the elites are able to role out of the way of three consecutive wraith shots and are able to simultaneously pummel me with stickies till i' dead while AI wraith shots auto target me and I die despite being out of the blast radius. I should point out I'm on PC playing with a mouse and keyboard so I'm lacking auto-aim and lots of bullet magnetism.
I know it’s late but you have to learn to anticipate when the elites will dive and aim for will you think they will be. You have to use the force Luke.
If you can't do it to the guide turn on mythic. The way he does it mythic doesn't matter. It gives you a 2.30 multiply and as long as you blowup plenty of vehicles with the locater you should get in the 30 to 40k range then just run through the base don't kill anything except the general and whatever is on the roof. If you have grenades maybe chuck a couple at jackles or grunts. Took me almost 15 minutes this way. Also ditch the wraith at the machine gun thing area because it takes too long to fire and it's slow as hell. Get the warthog at the aircraft gun area and ditch cat for time. Push the first button in the second area then blow up the dropship that dumps the grunts and skirmishers off push second button then get in your warthog and go back to base then use locator to blow up vehicles there then use grenades on the hunters and dump locator for shotgun and try to kill the hunters. In the video he glossed over that part. (Maybe he killed the hunters or had kat open the elevator idk all I heard was blow up waves in courtyard area then get on elevator. Then run the rest of it. Target the banshees for points on the roof then the phantom. Mission over.
EDIT: I'm an idiot, turn on competitive score tracking. Quality lies in this video. Notice his score multiplier at x3.00 despite the description giving you a setup worth x1.92 The strat is solid but the setup is misleading.
That's the time multiplier which is dictated by how fast you're going in relation to the par time. While you are under par time it remains at x3, once you start going over par time you can see my score start to drop. I end up with a x2.67 time multiplier, but the skull + difficulty multiplier remains constant at x1.92. Two different types of multipliers.
@@HaloCompletionist Apologies for my tone, I'm frustrated with the pacing and AI in this mission as I go for the 25k myself. It seems that unless you have the competitive score tracker on, it hides the actual multiplier bonus from you/doesn't count it, as I was gaining less visible points without competitive score tracking on. I turned on Competitive tracking and sure enough I was now getting the same visible score as you. Thanks for the quick reply and sorry again for the accusatory tone.
@@jonnydude69 No worries, just wanted to clarify. Its a little weird/confusing. With regular scoring on the time multiplier is applied in the post game lobby when you're looking at your stats so you'll still get it. You just won't know what it is until the mission ends. Competitive scoring shows you the score with the time multiplier in real time which is useful.
@@HaloCompletionist Yeah I've since learned this info, it's kind of spread out and I wish it was clearer in-game. I managed to get Oni Base (thanks to your help!) and now I'm bashing my head (quite literally) against The Package. I've actually "Beat" it twice now with randomly thrown grenades and a single remaining sword elite ending both runs.
Thanks so much for this guide was dead on, this one was the hardest for me to do and the package one too. Thanks again mate.
Wow this is not how things go down when I play
Almost had the achievement, got to the sword base atrium and everything was going well, then a friendly chucks a frag that goes off right behind me. Sounds about right
most always takes a couple tries Lol makes us stronger
I recommend everyone try for this by using his par time guide and kill or run past most the vehicles outside the base
I just gave a trooper a rocket launcher, had Kat on the gun, and farmed the endless phantoms, was expecting you to do the same but cool to see other completionists work

What area did you do this in?
The base where you turn on the AA gun when the gun is off-line a phantom will spawn so the gun has something to shoot when it turns on ....... if that phantom is destroyed early when the gun is still off another phantom will spawn and fly to the location
Turning on gun disables that phantom respawn
This made it much easier, thank you !
How do you get multiple shots with the target locator?
Normal mode and easy mode only.
Catch, famine, fog, thunderstorm, and tough luck on.
Just did this on heroic no skulls on. 13:42 score of 39,986
Il try that
Guys pay attention lol you don’t have to play this on heroic play on normal. You get more target locator shots

Did I miss something? He said something about killing vehicles then get on the elevator? What happened to the hunters?
How do you have so many target locator shots.
You get 6 total on normal
The par time thing is bullshit. Had 27k but went 3min over the par time and it had dropped my points down to 24k...
How do you keep all 3 weapons won’t let me keep all 3
I call bs! 22,272 points in 9:51. I give up!
are you sure it was only 7 skulls with normal? I'm getting 1/3rd the points from the beginning.
The points that pop up don't change, but if you check your actual score they are increased or decreased by your time multiplier.
