After searching many properties, and walking for a lot of miles over them, we picked what we think might be a great piece. Now, will they except the offer! Watch to find out!

It was never God's plan that I would get to travel around in this earth. Now that I'm old I take pleasure in your blessings of travel. Thankful that you share your journeys for many to enjoy.
You should connect with another TH-cam family up there- “Sommers in alaska” they are a Christian family and. live in the North Pole and have tons of good advice and resources about building and how certain things are so different compared to the other states because of the low temperatures. They’ve got all of knowledge on the better insulation, and plumbing needs as well as the shorter building timelines.
Ten inch walls can be built staggering 2X6 with 2X4s so the 10 inches of insulation is continuous. Also triple pane argon filled windows are commonly used. On permafrost, cabins are typically lifted on piers above ground to prevent thawing of permafrost. The Cold Climate Housing Research Center at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks is a great resource.
I love following your journey. Alaska is one of the states I always wanted to visit. I love the north. Thank you for showing different parts of Alaska as well as all the wildlife. Whittier is a great little spot off the beaten trail, but not by too much. It used to be train access only. Great place to explore on a boat, all kinds of beautiful protected coves. Great place for fishing, all things from salmon and halibut to shrimp and king crab.

Sometimes when we have bought property we put a time limit on the offer, this speeds up the process and stops the seller from having all the cards. We bought some land that joined us once and put a 24 hour limit on the offer because we knew other farmers would snaffle it up, the less time they have to think about it the better 😊

My parents homesteaded on Point McKenzie. Back in the 60's there were no roads you had to fly in.. Now it is roads all in and fantastic farm land.

I’d move up there to the lower part myself and wouldn’t leave !!!!! To have a garden and a freezer for meat & veggies is imperative !!! Nice long drive for me from Florida that i would take my time on getting there. So much to see on the way ❤️

Our son lives in Chugiak and we’ve had the opportunity to travel to a few of the scenic places you shared in your video. Today he sent a picture of a moose walking the street in front of his house. Alaska is such a beautiful state!

Magnificent views 👏 wish Alaska wasn't so far away from the east coast. We've been trying to buy house barn and acreage in NH with no luck. The minute a property comes on the market its gone in one day! Can't get up there fast enough to see it and make an offer. Lost 6 properties. So frustrating. Good luck on your journey. 🙏💙❄️😊
silver birch and black birch grow in New Zealand. nice bark. They like the cold elevated areas. Also we have a Beech tree forest they dont look too good for timber though, pretty leaves.

Thanks for sharing Joas:) I know the area pretty well (just by online) because I follow Eric and Ariel on Simple Living Alaska. They are in the Willow area. So as I have been following them, they have gone around to pretty much all the places you guys travelled. Wasilla seems to be a vital resource center and a go to place. You guys picked a beautiful Alaskan area to live and you might not want to go back! The family will be excited:) God bless!

Saw the vortex while driving along a highway on the outskirts of Anchorage. There were several people surfing it. We followed the surfers along as the vortex moved…it was crazy cool! Hope you get to see it at some point!
Looking forward to when you start to build…you must be so excited. 💃🏼💃🏼👏🏼👏🏼Nothing like going on an adventure into the unknown when you know the Lord is leading. I’m glad at least one family member will be with you to look out for each other. The nice thing about the log home is it’s all precut and ready to set up to do it yourself. 🏗

The Severn Estuary from just above Bristol to Gloucester in the UK has the Severn Bore. Also has one of the biggest tidal ranges in the world. As a child we used to go and see it, now it is covered with surfers riding the bore each time- not so natural..
Yes, Alaska has a drawing power that is unlike any other state. We know many people who have lived there, loved it, and wish they could still be there. My granddaughter is a bush pilot and flies people and cargo to many outlying villages. We took a land and sea cruise several years ago and saw many different aspects of Alaska and the Yukon. Hope you find time to visit some other places during your stay there. Good Luck in your ventures.

WOW you put in some serious mileage on your visit! Good for you checking the properties out “boots on the ground”. I am familiar with every place you went. However going through Whittier and the Turnagain Arm was not something I saw because once I went through the tunnel I was speed demon to get to my property! I will have to go back to it to enjoy it! I found my property on Zillow as well. Congrats on getting the property! You will nor be disappointed with Alaska one bit! Looking forward to watching future videos! I considered Montana as well for my move but couldn’t get a single realtor to respond! 😁
