Yay Godai! I remember QAing this game at 3DO back in the day. What an amazingly lazy bad game. It was the first game I ever QAed and wondered if was normal for a game a so unfinished to be in QA. When my manager told me it was in late beta I could barely believe it. It was totally broken at the time and felt like it been programmed by a bunch of high schoolers. It slowly improved and after almost 3 months in QA and going through innumerable GM builds you got the wondrous game that you see before you. What memories...
I totally disagree on Fallout Brotherhood of steel. I love that game!!! As a Fallout franchise game it's not great, but as a hack/slash dungeon crawler, I think it's tons of fun!
This was my first console (at the time, I had lived all my life with PCs, my family never invested in a console) and I was 21 at the time! Bought it because of GTA VC and Pro Evolution Soccer 2 with my first wage!!!!!
Celebrity Deathmatch is one of those "you know what you are getting into" type games. It's claymation for starters so graphics weren't going to be top notch. Yeah there is some clunkiness with the controls but there are far worse games than Celebrity Deathmatch. Was this more of a personal choice opposed to a objective review? To be honest in all of this series, this game is the only one where I went "Huh?". After all, it was an early release. So much so that it even has a PS1 version. Batman: Vengeance would have been my choice to replace Celebrity Deathmatch. I love Batman games and tend to be biased in favoring some of them but Vengeance is cringeworthy.

Vengeance gets additional demerits for its wrongful inflation of being a great game. It felt like people were so desperate for a newer Batman game that they just wanted to push one that doesn't live up to those expectations.
Gran Turismo 3 instead of 4? Wow. EDIT: Ok GT3 is NOT a bad game, in fact it's amazing for its time. And in fact I'll admit there are two HUGE things that it has over 4: Complex String, and the Snoop Dogg song. That song unironically slaps even today.

John, Thank you for this bad series of games on different consoles. It's a nice change of pace from the usual best of platform. Even when we get worst games list it's usually 100 worst so the gamer has little time to describe game. It's also nice that with every game you have actual game scenes to go with review. And to boot, most of theses games I have never heard of, it's entertaining and thank you.
Loving this bad games series! I think its even better then watching 'must have' videos which tend to just show many of the same games over and over. Hoping for a Nintendo DS Bad games episode!

I've had Godai for a good while, and it was a really awkward game. Much like Brotherhood of Steel, which I picked up thinking it'd be like the PS2 Baldur's Gate. It was not!
The only good thing about that game was the pre-order bonus, which was a DVD copy of the original film. I didn't even buy/own the game, and a GameStop employee just handed me a DVD copy of the film that they had as surplus. First time I ever watched the film, and loved it.
@GamebroTV True its not as bad as some on the list. Compared to the other games I had though it was ,like I said disappointing because it was supposed to be incredible. It was playable once-in-a-lifetime
To me, Godai is a perfect pick for this list, oh man, pong is more engaging(actually Pong is one of my favorite games, so I'm biased but still). Godai reminds of this other really early PS2 "action" game, Mystic Heroes? Mystic Forces? One of those, it has pretty cool looking character design on the cover, but the game is hot trash like Godai. I only keep them as good memories going out to yard sales and mom and pop game stores with my dad years ago. Ahhhh, before everybody went crazy for games but the community was so engaged in finding "new" old games we haven't played, what a time.

Been trying to find the name of an old PlayStation game. It was basically a movie where you’re on a plane with some weird sorcerer guy who’s calling for “the final destroyer”. The plane crashes and you’re stranded in a cabin, but others who survived have become like human/plant hybrids who try to kill you. It was bizarre, and I wanted to know the name of it.

Love the “Immortal” one. Great series Mr. Hancock…. Want to play the WORST PS2 game. Well look no further than Beverly Hills Cop!!! It was a EU exclusive and is less playable than Sups64. Absolutely one of the WORST games ever made, and my pick for worst PS2 game.
I have to say, I do enjoy the GIJoe game. I just really enjoy the simple arcade style combat with vehicles from the cartoon showing up. I just really enjoy it. Thanks for a great video John!
If you were to include all international releases, I would see 2 games from Phoenix Games, 1 from Blast ,1 from D3's Simple series, and Celebrity Deathmatch on here.
I immediately looked at my collection to see if I had anything worst...maybe NHRA Championship Drag Racing. Glad it was free years ago with a couple Powerade caps.
Appreciate your thoughts as always John! But I have to disagree with you with Fallout Brotherhood of steel. Take it as it is and not as a comparison to its franchise. Just my opinion though. The other games on this list? Absolute garbage lol Stay awesome my friend!
My inclusion of Fallout BOS is the sheer letdown people had with this game compared to the others. It typically is listed as the worst in the Fallout franchise. Worst game on the PS2? No, but possibly biggest disappointment.
Thanks for sharing! Transworld Surf and Kelly Slater were so much better for that generation (and even still). Surf World Series is a pretty good modern take. Take care!
When my ps2 died I got a ps3 thinking the one I was planning get to was backwards compatible with ps2 games..which it couldn’t do but at the time I could have easily buy a brand new ps2 at my local or even Best Buy…fortunately I was spared from getting bad games for the ps2.
Rise Of Cobra was based off of the 1st live action G. I. Joe movie and came out around the same time as the film. The 2nd movie didn't have a movie tie in.
Personally, I loved Brotherhood of Steel. It was the first time to my knowledge that someone had brought the original Fallout series from the PC the console. One of the mainstays of the early fallout games was the diversity in missions. Long before it went to 1st person, Fallout was never short on 'other' things to do, and Brotherhood of Steel delivered on that. The controls might have been a little iffy in the start but once you got the hang of them, it was a fun action/strategy/rpg that was Fallout's claim to fame. Now if you want to talk bad, check out Fallout 76.
California Games on C-64 was MASSIVE fun, played many days with a neighbor and re-visited it frequently. So many games means tons of shovelware too so it's hard to narrow down. Worst for PS2 I can think of right now are: IHRA Drag Racing 2, IHRA Professional Drag Racing 2005, Cabela's (insert any game here), Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII and most DEFINITELY Ephemeral Fantasia . Tried out Godai, it seemed so bad that I want to see how far I can go with it. Celebrity Deathmatch is unplayable and additionally, just not funny.
Fugitive Hunter: War On Terror. One of the worst FPS games on PS2. Repetitive gameplay, lousy ai, the fighting system feels broken, and Osma Bin Laden really? They could've just made up their own villain like they did with the other bosses.
I bought Celebrity Deathmatch when it was new. I loved it then due to it's contemporary humour. The game was bad but easy, so nothing was locked behind a broken mess. Even then, I knew it would age poorly. I mean, who now would even understand why the N*Sync battle was called 'Attack of the Clones"? (it was because Lucas wanted them in the movie, but backlash made him not do it).
Celebrity Deathmatch is a great party game, easy to pick up & play. Jerry Springers final thought fatality & some of the one liners make it a fun experience imo
I recently picked up Power Drome because it was real cheap, once I played it I knew why it was so cheap. It made me motion sick and it's spastic as all hell. I'm sure you could get used to it but you'd have to bring a bucket for the vomit inducing camera
Some hiccups were sure to appear, but looking back, what a great console the PS2 was. Fun anyone? As a commercial went. I'm happy I own a slim version, bought in 2004. Did great for dvd sales too.
When my ps2 died I got a ps3 thinking the one I was planning get to was backwards compatible with ps2 games..which it couldn’t do but at the time I could have easily buy a brand new ps2 at my local or even Best Buy…

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing.
I enjoyed Celebrity Deathmatch though its replay value is low. I guess im not a big fan of 3D fighters in general so that might be why.
The PlayStation 2 is the best system for me such great games!!
Me too. PS3 just wasn't as much fun and I never even bothered with 4
Super NES was great too
@@ikehoward4835 Yeah I love the SNES 😁
Great video. I only got celebrity deathmatch and it sucks played it just once.
That is easily the worst game I ever finished.
@@geogantart Me too
I bought Celebrity Deathmatch when it was new.
My first PS2 lasted all the way up till about 3 years ago. Currently on my second.
I remember Celebrity Deathmatch being such a bummer when I got it. I’m sure it’s still in a pile somewhere at mom’s house.
I used to always see Brotherhood of Steel at GameStop back in the day lol
5:20 Royalty Free pot smashing sound effect
I have two of these turds...
Could you do Gamecube next or Sega Saturn?
Yes ;)
