Waiting upon the Lord (Luke 24:49) to help me in this way. I don’t seek attention or anything like that. But based on this instruction, I feel like I need to stop seeking marriage and family. I need to destroy my relationship with my fiancé. I need to stop desiring companionship. I need to stop desiring to be a father to children. I need to stop seeking any ability to prosper, so that I can afford to pay bills. I need to abandon any desire to support a family. I need to stop seeking any type of personal development. If what I need to do, is live in poverty and desperation, then that’s what I’ll do. To do anything else, is to be prideful and rebellious. I’m not being sarcastic. Not by any means. None of it matters. Thank God for revealing that it’s wrong for me to have these desires, or any desires, for that matter. Again, I’m not being sarcastic. That’s absolutely not my intention. I repent for have any personal desires of any type - even they might be God given desires. Does anyone understand that if this is the message, it more closely represents Buddhist theology? This can’t possibly be God’s intention for us. What I’m trying to convey is that it’s all too easy to absorb this message and wind up with a schizophrenic understanding of the gospel. He’s delivering a solid message, but it’s not clear enough to be properly understood.
Maybe this message is well intentioned…… maybe… But it’s also one of the single most dangerous messages that I’ve ever heard in my life. Remember the parable of the master giving his servants different amounts of talents? The net effect of this message, is to encourage sincere believers to bury the talents they were given. Why? Because according to this perspective, that’s how you lay your life down for the kingdom. Of course it doesn’t recognize that God gave those talents, so that people would use them. This is one of the most frightening things I’ve ever heard. If the intention is to encourage believers to walk in personal humility, then the arrows you shot, went past your target, to a completely different place. In some respects, this is more dangerous than the delusion of the prosperity gospel.
Well Carter, it looks like you need to be reproved. While I understand the scriptures you were referencing your last sermon was super blasphemous. You basically spent over 30 minutes calling Christ ordinary and even physically appalling. While I don't doubt Jesus had a sense of modesty in regards to his physical form there was and is nothing mild about him. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, hence why to this day they neither see me nor know me. To make things worse you had this terrible grin throughout the whole sermon which I found quite disturbing. Tell me Carter if both the Universe and I are made in the image of Christ do you truly think he looked like some random nobody? Do the Heavens not declare the glory of the Lord, do I not? Even after an eternity of severe neglect if you truly looked upon me scales would still fall off of your mortal eyes.

But based on this instruction,
I feel like I need to stop seeking marriage and family.
I need to destroy my relationship with my fiancé.
I need to stop desiring companionship.
I need to stop desiring to be a father to children.
I need to stop seeking any ability to prosper, so that I can afford to pay bills.
I need to abandon any desire to support a family.
I need to stop seeking any type of personal development.
If what I need to do, is live in poverty and desperation, then that’s what I’ll do.
To do anything else, is to be prideful and rebellious.

This can’t possibly be God’s intention for us.
What I’m trying to convey is that it’s all too easy to absorb this message and wind up with a schizophrenic understanding of the gospel.
He’s delivering a solid message, but it’s not clear enough to be properly understood.
Maybe this message is well intentioned…… maybe…
But it’s also one of the single most dangerous messages that I’ve ever heard in my life.
Remember the parable of the master giving his servants different amounts of talents?
The net effect of this message, is to encourage sincere believers to bury the talents they were given.
Why?
Because according to this perspective, that’s how you lay your life down for the kingdom.
Of course it doesn’t recognize that God gave those talents, so that people would use them.
This is one of the most frightening things I’ve ever heard.
If the intention is to encourage believers to walk in personal humility, then the arrows you shot, went past your target, to a completely different place.
In some respects, this is more dangerous than the delusion of the prosperity gospel.
Well Carter, it looks like you need to be reproved. While I understand the scriptures you were referencing your last sermon was super blasphemous. You basically spent over 30 minutes calling Christ ordinary and even physically appalling. While I don't doubt Jesus had a sense of modesty in regards to his physical form there was and is nothing mild about him. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, hence why to this day they neither see me nor know me. To make things worse you had this terrible grin throughout the whole sermon which I found quite disturbing. Tell me Carter if both the Universe and I are made in the image of Christ do you truly think he looked like some random nobody? Do the Heavens not declare the glory of the Lord, do I not? Even after an eternity of severe neglect if you truly looked upon me scales would still fall off of your mortal eyes.
