Nice tutorial. Great content as always. Note for future players: if experimental mode is enabled, the reactor will never achieve criticality (at least on my system). Control rods at zero, no dice! Tried it 10 times thinking I missed something. Disabled experimental features, and voila, the core works.
@@ShArPy1o1Games Imagine if more than 1 rod was broke. Then that would be fun, as that is an instant meltdown. And the fact that you could in theory get it to shut down with high boron, but thats not happening in practice and this was before the chemical update.
Cheers mate! Thanks for playing that scenario! Was again amazing to see how straight forward you fixed everything. Looking forward to see the next episode ✌
I don't usually touch the Pressurizer valves. If you spend a few minutes pumping coolant through the Core loop while the system's still cold, it'll fill and balance itself just fine.
Im having problems filling up the Core Outer Vessel Coolant level. I am doing everything exactly as you, but there has been an update since you made this video. What valves needs to be open/closed to fill it up?
Your internal core pulls water from the internal water storage tank. (the one far left as u look into the core room from the control room) The internal core is filled up by the Feedwater Curcuit Pump ✌️ Seems like I'll need to do another up to date Scenario? 😎👌
@@ShArPy1o1Games The external core (the one in the middle while viewing from the control room where its usually water) does not fill up from the feedwater pump however. A new up to date would be awesome my man! You just got a new subscriber
I might really love this game, will have to try it. I played an old disk game that was set on a starship and you had to get it fixed, I remember really loving that. It was the old days and had like 8 disks one had to load in the disk drive as you went along. Good times. lol
Just FYI new never used nuclear fuel is "relatively harmless", you can even touch it with your bare hands (though gloves are good to prevent contamination). On the other hand, freshly used up fuel is extremely radioactive and no suit is going to protect you from that.
For me, the "All Set" lamp blinks yellow/green and even with inserted fuel and rods at 94%, I get absolutely no heat....? But all guages ect are green. I'm at a loss here.
Lovely video. Good to know what I need to do, if manual maintainance is required. Say, do you know what I can do when the core is damaged and I can not pull it out with the button on the Fuel control pannel even after pumping out the water from the core? I tried to use the crane above the reactor, but I can't even grab the core. Though I can smash my control rods, if I am not careful XP
@@ShArPy1o1Games You're welcome ☺ Let me try to describe the situation as good as possible: I tried to intentional cause a meltdown, so I can trigger the escape protocol and start a "New Game Plus" with a bunch of updates and a high enough level to do some updates. I caused the core integrity to drop down to 30% and then, I could no longer make the reactor... well, "react". I tried to use maintainance protocol to fix everything except the core, but it still didn't work. Then I tried to repair the core, but that wasn't possible because it was still inserted into the reactor. I tried the usual steps to pull it out, but the Fuel panel is not even lit up, though I tried to turn it off and back on again. Even pushing the "overide safety" button didn't do anything for me. I got into the containment building, got all the way up to use the crane manualy, moved it down to the core, but I could not get down far enough to grab and pull it out. I tried to see if I can, like, move the grabber not just up and down and left and right but also in a vertical motion. Like, making the tip of the grabber go down, if you can visualize what I mean.
How do you lower your core volume level so you have space to inject Boron in the Chemical update, it keeps telling me my Boron Dosing pump is overloaded, which I assume is because it has no space to pump in boron

Yeah, used to be easy to meltdown, now it's a mission in itself haha
Everyone that knows how to operate a nuclear reactor will be screaming at you for loading the fuel into the core before the coolant is maxed.
Haha, the trigger is real 🤪✌️

The next scenario, "Uninterrupted Power Supply" is really hectic and really fun 😎🤯

Cheers heaps... maybe watch 1 of my more recent videos of Nucleares as you may find your answer there in the meantime 😇✌️
Same thing for me.
I figured it out, you have to pull the lever on the external core coolant tank valve in the far right corner of the reactor room. (the blue lever)

Brilliant... It has been really fun so far and planning on a hard playthrough with random failures and Catastrophic Weather activated 🤔
6:20 The reason there was no fuel-insert animation was because you'd turned your hud off with the U-key and had not yet reinstated it. :D
Oh of coarse, completely forgot... thanks heaps... was wondering what did that haha 😎
Casually inserts fuel in the core before he has to go down in there
That's what the Suit is for... mwahahaha

Love the half life reference at the beginning
Brilliant for picking it up... Cheers for the comment as always 🤓😎

Are you in a scenario or in normal 'career'

The crane should be able to get the fuel rod... maybe the crane needs fuel itself...? 🤔
Thanks heaps for the comment as always 😎

@@ShArPy1o1Games Oh! Darn, I did not even consider this possibility. Alright, thank you. I try and see if this fix this issue.

It's 1 of the tanks in your core room...
Pretty sure it's the RCV Valve? I will have to double-check later today when my pc is on
Ok, off topic, but are you saying "right Meow"?? Cause I'm getting Super Troopers flashbacks. And it's funny as hell, while in a nuclear reactor.
Mwahahahahahaha..... I might be 🤣🤯... Glad someone noticed haha
