- Ukrainian troops have suffered setbacks on multiple frontlines in the Donbas region on Day 112 of the war. Ukrainian troops have been pushed back further in Severodonetsk as they try to manage evacuation of civilians from the city. Russia has pledged to spend the day evacuating civilians from a chemical plant in Severodonetsk. Ukraine claims that it repelled Russian attacks in Donetsk’s Berestove village on June 14. Luhansk Governor Serhiy Haidai has said Russian troops now control 80% of the fiercely contested Severodonetsk city. Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Ukraine is suffering painful losses in Kharkiv. Despite retaking Kharkiv from Russian troops, Ukraine is facing heavy shelling in the region. Zelensky has again called on the West to send his forces “more modern anti-missile systems”. A top US Pentagon official claims that Putin likely still wants to capture much, if not all, of Ukraine. Biden said he is working closely with allies to build temporary grain silos along the Ukraine border. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the West needs to send Ukraine "more heavy weapons" as it battles Russia.

Well Ukraine defeated Russia rather soundly in Kiev and Kharkiv, but in Donbas its different. The logistics are streteched much thinner for the Ukrainians, while for Russians its easier to resupply for the DPR and LPR.
Russia also used long-range missiles to destroy most bridges and railways leading to the region from the side of Ukraine.

Today, Ukraine is using the same urban warfare tactics today against today's Russian army that the Russians themselves (as the USSR) used against the German army in WW2. And the Russians don't like facing the same problems as the Germans did back then.
Just like Hitler in 1942, Putin in 2022 wanted a quick victory, not a long war, and he is very angry that the West won't let him have the quick victory he thinks he's entitled to.
The US and NATO must provide food instead of weapons and make right the wrongs they did to Russia. The World is suffering not because of the war but rather because of the Sanctions imposed on Russia.

The long and the short of it ..... Ukraine is taking heavy loses and going backwards ..... Russia is also taking loses but advancing. No amount of heavy weaponry will get this turned around. Russia now has 20% of Ukraine territory. If Ukraine puts more heavy artillery into the fight, Russia will throw 4 times the amount at it. Ukraine isn't winning, and cannot win. They need to surrender before their last port city is taken.
